Fujifilm PrintLife is where I get my canvas photo prints and we love them. They also have tons of other personalized items. I even got a few photo magnets this time as gifts. Best of all they are printed IN CANADA! Disclosure: I received products from Fujifilm Printlife in exchange for this post. Fujifilm PrintLife So how does it all work? You go to the website and look through all their product choices to see what you want. Once you select a product, you choose a few options and then upload your photo(s). You can adjust how the photos look and it will tell you if your photo is too low resolution. So make sure you use a good quality photo. After you change a few more options and finalize your choices it will show you a preview of what your product will look like. If you are happy with it you can add to your order. Just like any website it has a cart so you can add as many products as you like and then see the total and place the order when you are ready. It’s easy to use and I’m happy with my choices. The canvases specifically are very thick and will last a long, long time. They were easy to hang. You just hammer the included piece onto the back of the canvas and then use a nail on the wall and hang. It doesn’t come with nails though. I will be using Fujifilm PrintLife again for sure.

All Fluxx games have similar rules to start with but some of them have other cards that others don’t have. Also the rules of course fluctuate as you play, more on that later. There are different types of cards that all Fluxx Games have such as GOAL (what cards you need to play to win), KEEPERS (the cards that might be needed to win depending on the goal), ACTION (cards that can change up the game), NEW RULE (changes up the rules of the game) and then there are other ones that certain games have. Mystery Fluxx Below are just SOME of the fun cards in Mystery Fluxx. As you can see this game includes SURPRISE, DANGER, CREEPER and META RULE cards. SURPRISE cards can be played even when it isn’t your turn, DANGERS can cause one or more players to be eliminated from the game (possibly temporarily,) CREEPERS which are like KEEPERS you do not want. They can sometimes stop you from winning if you have them. META RULES stay in play until game is over (whereas other NEW RULES change all throughout the game. Word Fluxx Word Fluxx does not have extra cards but the KEEPERS are all letters of the alphabet and the GOALS are all word related such as making an acronym or a certain kind of word. This game can be considered educational because of the word aspect so we will use this in our homeschool for sure! Cat Fluxx The Cat Fluxx cards had me laughing. The only special card is the CREEPER which again can stop you from winning! I mean come on look at these card names. The CREEPERS are a Vacuum Cleaner, Smelly Litter Box and Cone of Shame (and others.) The nemesis of cats everywhere! The KEEPERS include all kinds of cats as well as their favourite things such as cat food, laser pointer and toys. There is even a NEW RULE card that gives you a bonus if there is a real cat in the room with you. So fun!

Are you looking for a family game that is all about the music? Hitster is so much fun and will have everyone singing along even though that’s not the aim of the game! About Hitster the Music Party Game Hitster is for 2-10 players 16+ although we played with an 11 year old. The only problem was it was harder for her but she had fun with it. Play is pretty simple but you do need to download an app and connect it to your Spotify account. You don’t need premium Spotify. To start the game each player receives a card like the one’s shown below. Each card has a date in the middle of it and a song and artist on it as well. You get one to start your timeline. I played the role of the DJ. The DJ gets to play as well. The DJ will scan the current player’s card’s QR code with the app and it will call up Spotify and play 30 seconds of the song after you turn your phone over. The player whose turn it is has to identify where in their timeline the song belongs. So if your starting card says 1985 you have to determine if the current song is from BEFORE 1985 or AFTER. Above you can see me scanning a card. There are also two tokens in the photo. The game comes with tokens for added play but you can play without them. You start with two tokens and you can earn more tokens (up to 5 more) by naming the song title and artist. You can also spend tokens on things such as skipping a song you don’t know, stealing a card or getting a free card. You don’t have to know the songs to play although it certainly helps. My 11 year old used her knowledge of what music from different decades sounds like to correctly figure out where it goes. The game gets harder the more cards you have. Hitster the Music Party Board Game is so much fun!

The illustrations by Dream Chen are so cute too. This adorable story features a girl named Bea who lives in America but embraces her Filipino heritage by sharing a box of goodies with her family back in The Philippines. She also shares all the fun things she does with boxes when she is playing. She and her family patiently wait for their box to arrive with their family as it’s a long boat ride for the box to get there. The book teaches you some Filipino words and there is a glossary in the back so you can look up the words. However it’s mostly obvious what the words mean. The back of the book has lots of goodies too such as instructions for how to make cool things out of boxes and suggestions on how you can make a box of goodies for someone special.

Buy Bea’s Balikbayan Box of Treasures at Amazon.com

They are thicker than your average magazine and chock full of interesting history articles and some activities, comics or the occasional colouring page. It is SO colourful too! They are designed for kids but I enjoyed flipping through them and reading different articles. We will be reading the whole magazine word for word at some point in our homeschool. You don’t have to homeschool to enjoy the magazines though. If you just have a child who loves history, these would be a GREAT gift. I like that they aren’t afraid to talk about parts of history that are harder to talk about like Apartheid. Everything is talked about in child friendly words though. I’d recommend ages 8-13 for it’s ideal ages however as I said, I enjoyed it and will be reading it with my 14 year old as well as my 11 year old. So how do you do that? Investing can be confusing. Let me direct you to a few resources that might help. Disclosure: This post is in partnership between Responsival and this blog. This is not financial advice. UGMA Account vs Custodial Roth IRA An important thing to know is that there are different types of investment accounts that are relevant to children. When deciding if you want an UGMA account or Custodial Roth IRA you will want to figure out one important question. Does your child have their own income? This can be regular or part time income but can’t be like birthday gifts or allowance. If they have their own income you will want to look at the Custodial Roth IRA. If not, look into UGMA accounts. Investing… huh? What if you don’t understand what you’re reading? If the problem is terms you don’t understand, you can check the Investing Glossary. Not sure where to look? In general use trusted resources such as .gov or .edu websites. Learning resources from investing companies are pretty good too. The kidvestors website has lots of free resources about investing with kids. Be wary of advice from any old Blogger, YouTuber or TikToker. That’s why I’m just directing you where to look. Not everyone has your back and knows what’s best for you and your family. My Kids are Older If you have teens they are old enough to learn about this themselves. I suggest directing them to a course on Personal Finance from KhanAcademy. They don’t have to be homeschoolers to use it. It’s education for ANYONE. Teen and adults alike might want to check out the Money With Katie podcast too. Hope you are able to find what you need to get investing!

An iconic moment of any childhood is having your height measured on the wall or a height chart but those options have their drawbacks. The wall cannot be brought with you if you move. If you want to repaint that causes issues too. Even height chart’s aren’t great because they rip and if you store them, you forget to measure your child. Enter My Measure Treasure. Think retractable measuring tape with a personalized height chart. Let me tell you more. *Disclosure: I received a sample in exchange for this review. This post contains affiliate links. My Measure Treasure The product is exactly like a regular measuring tape that you would use to build furniture but it’s blank. No measurements. It has a special marker attached to it as well. So if you are starting out with a new baby you can take measurements from the doctor or measure your child with the measuring tape and make a mark where they are. Then compare with a measuring tape to get the actual height if you are doing it at home. You can add other things too like ‘first tooth’ or ‘started school.’ If you already have been measuring your child on a wall or chart, you can add those measurements to the tape measure before you move or repaint. Or in my case they just fade away. Get one for each child to keep track of them all. Best part? Your child can take it with them when they grow up and move out! It also comes with 30 small number stickers so you can mark the first 30 months.

My Measure Treasure

The product is exactly like a regular measuring tape that you would use to build furniture but it’s blank. No measurements. It has a special marker attached to it as well.

So if you are starting out with a new baby you can take measurements from the doctor or measure your child with the measuring tape and make a mark where they are. Then compare with a measuring tape to get the actual height if you are doing it at home. You can add other things too like ‘first tooth’ or ‘started school.’

If you already have been measuring your child on a wall or chart, you can add those measurements to the tape measure before you move or repaint. Or in my case they just fade away. Get one for each child to keep track of them all. Best part? Your child can take it with them when they grow up and move out!

It also comes with 30 small number stickers so you can mark the first 30 months. It’s an ingenious way to make sure their childhood is preserved in a way that doesn’t take up much room and can be brought with you from house to house.

My Measure Treasure makes a perfect gift for a baby shower but you can start using it anytime until they stop growing! Buy Here
