So how does it all work? You go to the website and look through all their product choices to see what you want. Once you select a product, you choose a few options and then upload your photo(s). You can adjust how the photos look and it will tell you if your photo is too low resolution. So make sure you use a good quality photo.

After you change a few more options and finalize your choices it will show you a preview of what your product will look like. If you are happy with it you can add to your order. Just like any website it has a cart so you can add as many products as you like and then see the total and place the order when you are ready.

It’s easy to use and I’m happy with my choices. The canvases specifically are very thick and will last a long, long time. They were easy to hang. You just hammer the included piece onto the back of the canvas and then use a nail on the wall and hang. It doesn’t come with nails though.

I love games and Looney Labs is the maker of the Fluxx Games where the rules are in a constant state of flux(x).

Have you played a Fluxx game before? Let me introduce you to Mystery Fluxx, Word Fluxx and Cat Fluxx.

There is even a NEW RULE card that gives you a bonus if there is a real cat in the room with you. So fun!

The holidays are fast approaching for many people and we all want it to be a great time. Taking a few safety precautions will help keep your holiday safe this season.

Candle Safety

  • Never leave burning candles unattended.
  • Keep them out of reach of children and away from pets, tree decorations and wrapping paper.
  • Use sturdy candle holders so they won’t tip over.

Tree Safety

  • Make sure the tree is well-secured in a sturdy stand.
  • Place tree away from sources of heat such as heating vents, stoves, fireplaces etc.
  • Keep sharp or breakable ornaments away from young children.
  • Choose tinsel and other trimmings made of plastic or non-leaded metals.
  • Don’t let children put decorations in their mouths, as some may be harmful to their health.

Light Safety

  • Use indoor lights inside and outdoor lights outside.
  • Replace broken or burned out bulbs right away.
  • Check light strings and extension cords you use. Do not use if they are frayed, have exposed wires or broken light sockets.
  • Don’t overuse electrical outlets.
  • Turn off holiday lights before you go to bed or leave your home.

Toy/Gift Safety

  • Choose gifts that are suitable for your child’s age group.
  • Read and follow all instructions for any new toy.
  • Make sure batteries are not accessible to children and are properly installed by an adult.
  • Dispose of packing materials such as plastic bags and Styrofoam pieces immediately.

Food Safety

  • Cook food thoroughly to a safe internal temperature and serve it promptly.
  • Use warming trays or crock pots to keep hot foods hot.
  • Put serving trays on crushed ice to keep cold foods cold.
  • Throw away any food left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
  • Store all leftovers separately, especially turkey, stuffing and gravy.
  • Use refrigerated leftovers within two to three days or freeze right away for later use.

I like that they aren’t afraid to talk about parts of history that are harder to talk about like Apartheid. Everything is talked about in child friendly words though. An important thing to know is that there are different types of investment accounts that are relevant to children. When deciding if you want an UGMA account or Custodial Roth IRA you will want to figure out one important question.

Does your child have their own income? This can be regular or part time income but can’t be like birthday gifts or allowance. If they have their own income you will want to look at the Custodial Roth IRA. If not, look into UGMA accounts.

If you already have been measuring your child on a wall or chart, you can add those measurements to the tape measure before you move or repaint. Or in my case they just fade away.
