I’m happy to report that one of my favorite tumblelog-style themes is now available for WordPress.com users! I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as the self-hosted users.

Stitch is a clean, modern theme in cool tones, with support for one widget area, custom drop-down menus, custom header and background, multiple post formats, and a mobile-friendly, responsive design.

By default, Stitch’s main header, menu, and optional sidebar stay fixed to the left of the screen as the content scrolls by on the right. This limits the amount of content you can include in this area, so if you’d prefer to turn off this functionality, you can do so under Appearance -> Themes -> Customize -> Theme Options.

It’s been a busy year, and I hadn’t intended to release any more themes in 2012, but inspiration struck and I couldn’t resist. Just one more.

Spirit is a simple holiday blogging theme in a scrapbook style, with lots of depth and texture. It features a responsive design, and support for custom menus, custom headers, a full-width page template, several post formats, and an optional sidebar.

Spun is a clean, lightweight, responsive theme that steps out of the way to put the focus on your content.

The theme’s navigation is hidden — hover anywhere to the far left or right of your screen to see links to previous and next pages or posts.

Likewise, most elements in the theme – the header, entry information, and footer – are grayed out until you hover over them.

Spun looks best if you set a featured image to represent each of your posts on the blog index and archives. If no featured image is assigned, the theme will attempt to pull the first attached image from the post. If the post does not have an image attached, the post title will be displayed.

There are three optional sidebar columns located in the theme’s footer, which can be activated by adding some widgets in Appearance -> Widgets. When this happens, a light gray circle will appear underneath your content — click it to toggle the sidebar on and off.

Spun also supports the Image, Quote, Status, Gallery, and Aside post formats, which, if selected, will change the post’s layout accordingly.

Something Fishy is an illustrated landscape theme for WordPress with parallax scrolling effects, a responsive, mobile-friendly layout, featured images, multiple widget areas, custom menu support… and a whole lotta cute. If you’re looking for a fun and playful design, this is the perfect theme for you.
