It preserved fish, meat, olives, cheese, and pickled vegetables throughout the year everywhere in the world. There are, in fact, some 14,000 known uses for salt. Salt meant something far different, and far greater, than it does to us in our technologically advanced age of electricity and refrigeration. It was like saying, “Can you name that tune in five words?” It was a line from a song – a song every Jew learned as a child.  (Pastor Gene Pensiero)</p>

In other words, these events were more than religious rituals in their family. They approached them in ways that spoke of their relationship to God. They didn’t just pay attention to the calendar; they saw these days as opportunities to celebrate.  (Pastor Gene Pensiero)</p>
