Weekend Notes

santa ynez vineyard wedding reception tables beautiful jose villa

Have you guys seen this stunning Santa Ynez Vineyard wedding over on Once Wed this week? Hope that your weekends are shaping up to be full of just as much beauty and style… I’m visiting some of my oldest and best girl friends in Houston today, and it’s been so fun getting to spend hours talking late into the night together. Feel like we haven’t done that since college! I’ll head home to my honey this afternoon, and the rest of our weekend includes a baby shower for my adorable mama-to-be friend Martha Lynn, grilling pizzas with friends and possibly popping into a baby store (or two) to start thinking about our registry. By the way, have you guys entered our Perfect T giveaway yet? We’ll be announcing the 3 winners on Monday, so be sure and hop on over! Hope you have a lovely weekend, and enjoy my favorite links from the week!

Snapshots From :: The Ruby

the ruby collaborative creative event austin texas

We talk a lot about finding inspiration around here… from changing weather to an unusual color pairing, we tend to seek it out at every possible opportunity. That said, every now and then something comes along that overwhelms us with inspiration and imagination, and yesterday evening a group of Austin’s most creative women gathered at the first ever Ruby Collaborative to achieve just that. The event (hopefully, the first of many) was hosted by Ana, Candice and Chelsea and brought us all together for a few hours of mixing, mingling and sharing of fabulous ideas. We were so inspired by the location and the lovely group of ladies there, that we knew we had to share some snapshots with all of you. Keep reading for more about the event, plus a glimpse of the lovely store where it took place! more +

Two Little Obsessions

Diptyque_Rose_Candle

BellaB_Tummy_Honey

I keep reading about how important it is for pregnant girls to find ways to incorporate little indulgences into our lives… as though I needed any convincing! I’ve been a long-time believer that everyone should look for a small way to pamper themselves every day, whether it’s an afternoon latté, gorgeous new lipstick or overpriced European design magazine from the newsstand (those are some of my faves, anyway!) I’ve been indulging in the occasional prenatal massage, lots of healthy smoothies, and these two items that I’ve been quite obsessed with this week. My Diptyque candle in Rose has the rare quality of perfuming my entire office even when it’s not lit…and it’s especially pretty when paired with a bouquet of pink roses from my garden. And this Tummy Honey Butter by Bella B is every bit as yummy as it appears. I’ve tried a bunch of different stretch-mark prevention creams, and this is the only one that actually feels like it’s doing something, plus it smells so good that you almost want to give it a taste. I’d love to hear about all of your favorite little indulgences! Let us know what you do to feel pampered in the comments below…  more +

Breakfast Jam Straws strawberry raspberry berry jam jelly dough powdered sugar recipe forgiving martha easy simple

Hi everyone! Jess here — today’s treat was inspired by my beloved Pinterest queue, and I’m so pleased with the final product. The recipe couldn’t possibly be simpler, but it yields the most perfect and sweet results. I love the idea of serving these jam straws at an adorable baby shower (hint hint, Camille!), or even offering them to guests as a sweet something that’s easy to snack on while mingling at a brunch. Keep reading for a recipe certainly worth repeating, and I’d love to hear of any must-try recipes that  you’ve discovered on Pinterest! more +

Do You Dare :: Walk-By Closet

hung clothing wall decor art interior design idea ideas
Hi everyone! Michelle here, with a daring yet dainty approach to wardrobe organization. We’re all comfortable with setting out fashion photography coffee table books or hanging our favorite blown up editorial images on the walls. But lately I’ve been noticing that the marriage of fashion and interior design can be bolstered even more. Shouldn’t the ruffled, floral and sequined art work that we all keep stashed away be showcased more often? I’m slowly warming up to the idea, and something tells me that your fantastic frocks and sultry stilettos will not only thank you for freeing them from the inner depths of your closet (bye bye mothballs!), but will revel as a delightful addition to your bedroom decor. Plus, what a visually stunning way to organize your wardrobe! Follow the jump to view more fabulous photos, and please share: would you dare unite sartorial style with interior decor?

Handmade Happiness

heath ceramics handmade pottery san francisco summer coral peach bright dip paint hand made dinner ware dinnerware

We weren’t joking yesterday when we said that we’re simply smitten with everything coral for spring… and when I say ‘smitten with’, what I really mean is obsessing over. Add a new line by Heath Ceramics to the mix, and we’re a total lost cause. I know it might be a tad bit fantastical, but why not have just as much fun with your dinnerware as you do with your wardrobe, and transform it with the trends of the season? I can’t help but dream of scooping up every piece in Heath’s Summer Seasonal Collection and setting the most beautiful, color-charged table for a springtime get together. We’ve picked a few of our favorite item’s to share with you after the jump, but there’s a whole lot more where that came from here! more +

Tuesday Tastings :: Asparagus & Ricotta

crostini

Morning lovelies! As promised, I’m sharing the recipe for these totally awesome asparagus + fresh ricotta crostini that I whipped up when guests arrived for brunch on Easter. I’m kind of obsessed with these and have a feeling I’ll be making them for dinner parties all spring…the flavors and colors are so light, but the fresh, creamy ricotta makes them indulgent, too. And let’s be honest: you’ve got to use fresh ricotta here. My grocery store sells it from a local farm, but if your’s doesn’t, it’s super easy to make yourself. (see that cream in the recipe? that’s why it’s so good.) I toasted squares of super thin sourdough bread, mixed lemon zest into the ricotta, and sautéed asparagus with olive oil, salt, black pepper & lemon juice. Layered together and topped with a sprinkle of sea salt, it’s a bite of pure springtime. What crostini toppings are your favorites? I’m still loving this pea + mint version… and these with peach + prosciutto are insane. Keep reading for the asparagus + ricotta recipe!

Easter Snapshots

camillestyles_easter_coffee

A few of my favorite moments from our family Easter brunch yesterday… Adam and I hosted at our house this year, and it was so fun getting to have both sets of parents, plus some of my favorite cousins/best friends, all together in one place. I made a couple of big frittatas with roasted vegetables, prosciutto and fresh mozzarella….  more +
