Big sister Campbell (that always tickles us) got to welcome twin baby sisters into her life about eight months ago. It melted our hearts watching Lauren and Quinn make googly eyes for Campbell - they really couldn't get enough of what she was up to.

Since this session was about the new babies that Emily and Eric had brought into the world we could resist a few individual portraits on a new background. Super sweet don't you think?

Have you ever considered wearing your girl like a scarf? A cozy choice for these cold winter days. We loved how physically playful Dad Matthew was with his kids - something Mom Jennifer clearly loves too. She's a big fan of cuddling and we couldn't resist that. What a neat family - lots of love to share.

Who could resist this sweet little face? Ayumi and Andrew sure couldn't. A few days shy of Alex's first birthday they know what a milestone this first birthday is and couldn't be prouder. Alex was even willing to sit for a few minutes in this amazing silk kimono sent from family in Japan. That's all he would give us but it was just enough. ;-)

The Ballad of Jack & Penny

Miss Penny had tons of fun playing with her little brother Jack. So much fun that when she had the chance to curl up and crash against her mama she couldn't resist. We loved how this playful and energetic crew gave us all kinds of great moments to photograph. Trina and Brad have grown some real find kiddos. Thanks for sharing them with us.

A Love Story for Mom

I've been dealing with cancer and chemotherapy for the last four years. While I can't say I'm glad I have cancer, there have been several benefits. It has brought my family closer together. It has taught me how to love them better. I am keenly aware of what is most important to me. I let the love for my family guide my actions much more so now. When I found out I would be receiving yet another round of chemo that would result it loosing my hair, I decided it was time for some family photographs.

I told my 10 year old daughter I would have to start some new chemo soon. She asked me: Are you going to die? I said no. She then asked me: Are you going to die sooner than if you never had cancer? I told her yes, probably so. We talked about it for a long while, then she made me this card:

Sweet Baby James

Mama Michelle had come in a couple months back for maternity portraits and guess who she brought back? The sweetest little love bug - James and his papa Steve too.

Clearly over the moon about this beautiful boy it was very easy to capture smiles and genuine affection from all the family members. Ain't love grand?

Sydney + Connor

Staci and David brought their little cutie pies Connor and Sydney in for an updated family photo. We lucked out with a dry Saturday and were able to convince the kids to brave the frosty December morning for some beautiful color portraits. With such a loving and playful family it's easy to see why Connor and Sydney have such a sweet relationship.

Pod + Kin Photo Shoot

Our favorite Pilates instructor Wendy Foster has set up a fabulous new spot aptly called 'Pod + Kin' on 38th and SE Belmont. She is teaching her postpartum recovery Mamalates classes, Pilates Sculpt (Kim's personal favorite) and as well as offering a wide range of classes taught by instructors like Kimberly Bepler of ABC Doula Service and Camille Mulchi of Motherwise Yoga.

Yesterday Kim went over and captured lots of women, some of them with their new babes to boot. Even though the sun refused to come out she was able to recreate sunshine by putting a studio flash light outside the beautiful big south facing windows. Lucky little Alyssia has been enjoying a new world filled with loving grandmothers and parents. We were so fortunate to be able to document the visit of her maternal grandmother from Japan. Tenderness and love was easily shared between family members and we couldn't help but smile from ear to ear throughout Alyssia's photo session.

17 Years is SPECIAL

Wow another year has flown by and we are stepping into our 17th year in business. When we opened our photo studio in 1995 we never imagined that we'd be turning our passion into real work (or play) that feeds us. We remember the first time a baby peed on our camera just like it was yesterday. The tender, funny and unexpected moments we've been a part of are simply priceless.

In this unpredictable economy we consider it a huge triumph that we've been able to stay afloat in challenging times and want to thank our clients for continuing to see the value of a well-crafted portrait for their homes. We are pleased to continue offering outstanding customer experiences into 2012 and beyond.

How are we celebrating? Well we thought it would be fun to tell LOVE stories to start off the year.
