My husband has periodic massages at home to relieve discomfort from back and leg issues. However, they never seem able to “get the spots”…well Eduardo did. One of the days we had a full day of rain and Eduardo came to our villa so my husband didn’t miss his needed massage.

Manny is the delightful agent that walks the beach offering the spa packages. After years of watching him sweat in the sun we finally took a chance. We are hooked and will be back every year.

Just to clear up all the confusion; La Dolce Vita is now Savio’s. I believe it is called Savio’s Bistro by La Dolce Vita. They are now located on the north side of the hotel zone next to the Be Live Grand Caribbean Resort. They have actually been there for a while now along with other Cancun dining. I heard the son took the restaurant from the dad, renamed it and moved it after the hurricane.

Any way, if you are looking for that same great Italian seafood in a Cancun dining experience, Savio’s is still as good as ever. We had not been there for about two years and agree the quality has not suffered at all since the transfer.

Let me tell you, we had the escargot and red snapper. The fish is always fresh and they use interesting spices and flavors to give the food a unique flavor. If you prefer they also have a range of meat plates as well as a variety of soups and salads. The seafood soup, so big it could be its own meal, is a tomato and saffron based, stuffed full of little bites of scallops, shrimp and squid. The meal portions are very generous. Compared to other Cancun dining the $20 to $30US per entree is well worth it.

The atmosphere has a rustic but cosy feel over-looking the lagoon. If your lucky you might get to see the visit from their crocodile friend who waits a the base of the restaurant for a chicken feeding. I highly suggest taking your Cancun dining experience to Savio’s.

I have been consistently traveling the world for the last 10 years and have never found a place worth writing a review about until now.

My husband and I were searching for a Cancun Vacation Rental and was suggested to stay at Villa Albatros by some friend. We booked the rental and just returned last April.

Once we arrived at the house we were greeted by the Villa Manager who gave us a complete tour and already had our luggage in our room along with the other items we requested. The Villa Manager was very accommodating for all of our various needs including booking our private spa treatments.

This Cancun vacation rental was about 10 minutes from the main strip, slightly secluded and right on the beach. Very modern and roomy we could see the ocean from every room. We stayed in the master suite which hosted a large walk-in closet and Jacuzzi tub.

During the day we swam in the exquisite pool with architecture to suite any luxury hotel. Throughout the day we were supplied with fresh fruit as well as a personal bartender making fresh cocktails. I was particular for the Mojitos made with their fresh squeezed lemonade.

If you are looking for a private Cancun Vacation Rental I highly recommend Villa Albatros.

There are a lot of options for Cancun tours and excursions. We picked the Hummer, Zipline and Zoo tour. The tour combined 3 groups into separate 3 hummers. My boyfriend and I lucked out and got to drive by ourselves with Markel, our tour guide. First stop was the El Rey Ruins where Markey explained the history of the Mayans and Aztecs. We then headed about 30 minutes from the hotel zone into the jungle for the ziplines. The ziplines were pretty shady looking so it took an extra effort to get the nerves to go. However they were not that high compared to the ziplines I did in Catalina Island.

If you’re going to Cancun for the first time and you haven’t booked your Cancun transportation from the airport YOU MUST READ THIS.
It is crucial to setup your Cancun transportation to and from the airport before you actually arrive in Cancun. You will need to take a shuttle or taxi about 30 minutes from the Cancun International airport to the hotel zone. It usually costs about $50 US for roundtrip.
There are many companies to choose from when searching online, but I recommend Olympus Tours. They are easy to find at the Cancun airport with bright orange shirts, always polite and helpful to your hotel and usually show up 5 minutes early when picking you up to go back to the Cancun airport. Olympus Tours also provides other Cancun tours and excursions, so they could be your one-stop-shop when booking online.

Once you arrive at the Cancun airport and enter the lobby be assured you will be bombarded with hundreds of Cancun travel sharks. This experience is very overwhelming as they are all yelling, whistling and fanning brochures in your face to sell you their Cancun transportation service.
You can just ignore them because you are going to take my advice and setup your Cancun transportation in advance. Just run! Get outside where the more professional companies are waiting usually with their distinguishable different colored company shirts. Find your Cancun travel company and get to them fast. If you wander around looking lost you will continue to be aggressively attacked by hungry travel agents. Good luck and have fun!

I had hear great thing about Cancun With Me and their Cancun tours and excursions so I decided to book a day trip during our honeymoon. We contacted the famous Manny before the trip to set it up. As all the other review suggested he’s on his game and responded immediately. We ended up spending the extra $100 to have him come with us.

Turned out to be like a custom tour. We would tell him what we wanted to see, he would make the most of the time to fit it all in. Because of the 3 hour drive from Playa del Carmen to Chichen Itza we had to start at 6AM. Was dragging in the morning but, found out later was worth it because we beat all the tour busses.

Saw Chichen Itza first, went to lunch at an authentic local restaurant, then to Cenote and to see the EK Balam ruins. We completely enjoyed the tour, however the drive between places was a little boring.

Manny was super nice and ended up taking tons of photos of us. He was also very honest. Had plenty to say about the other tourist companies milking the tourists. I would defiantly recommend Manny and Cancun With Me and their Cancun tours and excursions. Was worth every peso!

Cancun Vacation Rentals: Westin Regina

“The Cancun vacation rentals had a very nice pool with swim-up bar right up to the Caribbean. The staff was great and food was decent. The room was OK, with really comfortable bed. Al thought the hotel was quiet and secluded on the end, we would have preferred something with more people.”

“Our Cancun trip was perfect for maximum relaxation. For our anniversary I found a nice Cancun vacation package which included the Airfare from Denver and a Cancun vacation rental at the Westin Regina. As we got to the airport we were attacked by taxi and shuttle drivers. We were happy we pre-arranged our transportation to the hotel. I highly recommend a company called Cancun Shuttle, as they charged us $50US for round trip in a private car. I heard you could pay this much just for one way in a taxi. You might want to ask if you can include your transportation in your Cancun package.”

“The Westin Regina was nice and quiet. Almost too quiet, but I guess this is because of the time of year we were visiting and also because the Cancun vacation rental was on the very end. However the views were amazing and the staff was super polite. We didn’t really plan to do anything, which is the way I like it. We ended up hanging out at the hotel pool every day soaking up sun and drinking beers and cocktails.”

“However when we did want a little more action we hopped on the local bus, which was only $1US per person, and headed to the middle of the strip. We found so many happening clubs and bars. Most of them charge an entry fee and include drinks all night. I didn”t feel like going into a packed club so we ended up at a nice little club called Nectar. Really cool, contemporary club with a house DJ and know for their after hour parties.

One of our days we went downtown Cancun. Again we caught the local bus for $1US each and was about a 30 minute ride. We walked around and found a market. If you go, bring your negotiation skills. I bought my wife a sterling silver bracelet for only $30US and negotiated for myself 3 Cuban cigars for only $20US. One of the vendors recommended a really good authentic Mexican restaurant called La Parilla. The decor was as authentic as the food and only cost us $10US for 2 buffet lunches.

The last day we stayed at the hotel again and got massages on the beach. Again not that expensive, only $120US for two 70 minute massages. And to top off the day and vacation we went to a nice secluded Cancun restaurant called JP Captin. They served us on the dock as we watch a beautiful sunset into the lagoon. While we were eating we saw some wild crocodiles swimming below us. All in all this was a very inexpensive Cancun vacation that I would defiantly do again. Cancun vacation rentals are the way to go!
