Unlike when I built my other classes, I’m planning to have all the content ready to go before launching the class. This class is much shorter and simpler, requiring a lot less time and materials commitment than Dyeing 101 & 102, for folks that aren’t quite sure how far they want to dip their toes into the colorful waters of dyeing!

Therefor, having the class completed before registering anyone will ensure than someone who gets all excited about it can charge in and dye up a storm. (All my classes are self-paced with no expiration date, so people can go just as fast or slow as THEY want.)

While dyeing up these beginner’s exercises, I had to stop and share some pix on my Instagram feed, because it never fails…the colors involved in every step of the process are just so amazing, I had to share them! Look at this gorgeousness that fell out of the dryer:

I managed to make 3 more pillows last week. 2 with stripes that reminded my hubby (and me!) of tiger stripes:

They look great on the furniture:

May Goals

Well, I got my submissions done! I haven’t even shown them here yet – soon, soon. I’ve also finally cleared enough mental decks to get started on my next online class.

Option 1: Bloglovin

Bloglovin seems to be the way  a lot of folks are going. Vicki Welsh clued me into the fact that I’m supposed to “claim” my blog with Bloglovin (from this helpful post). So this magical link is allowing me to claim my blog with them:

Option 2: Flipboard

Flipboard is a beautiful app, and it adds Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all together. I’ve tried it on both my iPad and Android phone for a few months now. The big problem is that I often like to read blogs on my computer too, and there’s no Flipboard interface on the computer. Because I follow LOTS of blogs, marking things as read is really important so I can quickly find the stuff I haven’t, and I haven’t been able to do this with Flipboard.

Option 3: Feedly

Meet my new best friend: Feedly! It quickly imported all my Google reader subscriptions, there are apps for iOS, Android and Kindle PLUS you can add it to Chrome (my preferred browser). I love the design of it, I can switch between different layouts quickly and easily, and, most importantly: what I read on one device is marked as read on all of them. Hooray!!!!

I’ll report back on if I’m still impressed with Feedly in a month or so. What about you? How do you follow your favorite blogs?

My baby Logan turned 12 on Friday! It seems like not that long ago he was trying out his very first cake with GUSTO:

Now he’s 12!! We had a great celebration; just 2 of his best buds came over after school and stayed the night! Of course, there was some video game playing:

Some swimming and sock tie dyeing:

Then some deelicious food! Andrew fried up some potato chips, and topped them with gorgonzola:

And then, pork tenderloin sandwiches!

Logan is really into the video game “Skylanders”, we planned this cake out to look like the portal the figurines sit on, Logan decorating it with the “runes” found on the portal:

Obviously his buddy Shawnee is really excited about giving Logan those new Skylanders!!!

They played well into the night, Andrew and I had to hit the hay before they were ready. Then waffles for breakfast the next morning which got a thumbs up from everybody:

After his friends went home, Logan opened a few more presents, including a Dr. Who fez, bowtie and socks!

He had a great time, and kept telling me it was the best birthday EVER! I’m so happy he had a great celebration, but sometimes I miss that cute little baby with cake smeared all over his face!
