I’m sure those of you who have access to my FB account have seen the photos of our company Annual Dinner end of last month.

Since it was my first time attending this event as a staff (I have attended their previous annual dinner events, but as VIP, heh..) I didn’t really know what to expect, and what to wear.

I was just too lazy to go shop around and buy a new dress, so in the end, I just wore one of my old dresses (which I have only worn it once: during my engagement party, ha!) and thought I was too overdressed. I didn’t even have any fancy hairdo; I just let down naturally.

But whoa.. I was so shocked to see some of the other ladies’ dresses that night! Some even wore wedding evening gowns or lela rose bridesmaid dresses-type, complete with full-on make-up and salon-styled hair! And mind you, all the dresses were bought, not rented okay! It’s crazy!!

I mean, where did they have the time to go to the salon and did all this?? We all had to work that morning until 3pm, and needed to be at the event by 5pm what! @_@

This year they had a different theme, whereby our seating is determined by our bracelet colours, which was given when we registered at the door. So yeah, WC and I didn’t get to sit together; he at the VIP table, and me way at the back at the Green table.

The outlets performances were also great that night. I guess lucky them because most of the staffs were youngsters, and youngsters mostly could dance, or at least move to the music.

Whereas my outlet.. we only managed to practice for 3 days, thanks to me, haha.

Let’s Twist Again by Chubby Checker, and I wanted to insert some intermediate moves in our performance, but I was scared the colleagues would not be able to learn the steps in time. So basically all the moves were simple to follow.

With only 3 days of practice, and with colleagues who claimed they all have 2 left feet, not to mention that the dj kept messing up our music, we were surprised that we got 4th out of 6 places altogether. So who knew? Haha..

I’m sure you all are curious to see the video right? According to WC, he only took a video of our performance, thus not much performance photos.

I have yet to view the video though. Will upload it soon for you all to see and laugh! :p

Last year, Rex & his mom Black Koopi were brought to our kampung in Patau, Tambunan from KK because there were too many dogs at the house at that time (while the siblings Marley & Knut Knut stayed behind here in KK with me).

We didn’t go and visit them since then, so we were quite nervous about going there and seeing Rex again after one year.

What if he doesn’t remember us anymore and won’t let us in the house? (He was known to be quite a territorial and aggressive dog, together with Black Koopi and his half brother Max, and mom said it got even worse after Black Koopi died earlier this year from a snake bite)

But when we were there 2 weeks ago, he recognised us right away, and it made us so happy to see him greeting us so excitedly with his half-brother Max!

You know the look of someone when they’re so happy they want to cry? To me, that was how Rex looked like when he saw us 2 weeks ago! Furiously wagging of tail plus watery eyes! How could you not melt after seeing your dog like that?

Anyways, it was nice to see him doing well and taking good care of still very young Max.

We went back to kampung again last weekend, but this time mom told us to bring some cough and vomiting medicines for Rex, as he had been unwell for the past few days. He had gotten sickly thin, with all the bones jutting out in just one week, because he couldn’t eat; just vomited every time. Even with the 3 of us trying to hold him down and force feed him his food and meds didn’t work. He was quite strong for his size!

And whenever I went and see him at the stairs (like the photo above), he would be there sitting down, wheezing but looking at me and made that crying sound. It was so painful to see him like that. He was so weak that he couldn’t even bark at strangers or other dogs or cats anymore, he only saved his energy to run away from us whenever we tried to feed him, and to go vomit.

We left kampung on Sunday with a heavy heart, knowing he wouldn’t last long if he continued with his refusal to eat, and true enough, mom messaged me yesterday morning that he was finally gone.

Sigh.

I really hate it when my pets go to pet heaven. I get super emotional over this matter because I spend so much of my time and effort in taking care of them and when they’re gone.. it’s like losing a family member. It’s just depressing!

But at least I’m glad that I managed to take photo with Rex and his super hyper brother Max 2 weeks ago, when Rex was still alive and healthy (photo above). I’m also glad that I managed to see him on his last days before he left the world.

Rex, even though you won’t be there in Patau anymore greeting us when we go back, at least now you’re no longer in pain.. and that you are now with your mother there in doggie heaven. Send my love to Black Koopi too ya. And don’t worry. We’ll take care of Max. A new puppy will come in soon and accompany him.

Rest in peace my calm but strong one. Lots of hugs and kisses from your other mommy.. xoxo

It was a day I won’t ever forget. How could I.. it was the first time a Korean group will be performing here in Kota Kinabalu!

I was lucky enough to be invited to the media listening party at Playground in City Mall, Kota Kinabalu on that afternoon, and boy, certainly no regrets here!

Okay, I gotta be honest here, and I know some people may not like it, but oh well.

I was a bit embarrassed by some of the questions asked by the media people. Seriously, haven’t you done your homework before coming to this event? Or at least read the press kit? It would answer A LOT of your questions, you know.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on with the actual fan meet that same night!

Had I known my blogger friends Chegu Carol & Webgrrrl would be going there directly after the media party, I would’ve joined them too. But nope. I went back, changed and relaxed for a bit before heading to Party Play at Lintas at around 7pm. And because of this, even though I was sitting with my other friends Fara & Marissa, I couldn’t really get a good view of the stage. Blame it on the prime lens of my camera too. :(

So no photos nor videos of the event. But you can check out Webgrrrl’s post for all the videos! She got an awesome spot and managed to take great videos! Lucky her! As for Fara, Marissa, Chegu Carol and I, we just danced the night away and truly enjoyed ourselves during the event!

Oh, the opening acts were awesome too! Jon Tse, Alvin MY & JADESisters were great at building the crowds’ excitement up! It was also obvious the RedSoul members were having a good time during the local performances as well, which was nice to see.

All the performances during that night went well IMO, except for one song: Lucky.. the duet between RedSoul’s Hwang Tae Ik and Kim Ki Hyeon with one of the sisters from JADESisters. I’m sorry, I just expected the girl singer to sing better than that. The wrong lyrics made me cringe a few times too. Makes me wonder, was it a last minute choice to sing that song? Hmm..

But overall, the event was just awesome! I just cannot say that enough! It felt like we were in a concert that night, with us jumping up & down, waving our hands in the air, and dancing to the songs they sang. Never mind that we were slightly older than most of the crowds there (oops! Haha!); we.had.fun!!

Thank you to Dinoza and his team & Inspire ME for bringing Red Soul to Kota Kinabalu to perform. It was truly a day and definitely a night to remember to us Kpop fans here in KK!
