Well, here we are at the end of the summer season, and we commemorate this end with a three day weekend and call the holiday Labor Day. Why do they name a holiday the antithesis of what the holiday season is.

Emmy Recognition

Friday’s fun is going to be a little more somber this week, with the airing of the Emmy awards this past sunday, the obligatory “In Memorium” section ran with a live performance courtesy of Jewel. It’s a little sad that the names during this segment generally are not as well known as the Oscar tributes, but this year we lost some real heavy hitters. I did like the fact that they gave a nod to Deadliest Catch captain Phil Harris. Here’s the entre segment.

New Titanic images

I love the story of the Titanic, as most people do. The drama inherent in a mid sea emergency is hard to ignore, but in the 98 years that have passed since the ship sank and the 20+ years since it’s rediscovery, there seems to now be an unhealthy obsession with it. A recent expedition just went down to take more pictures. Aside from the people going down to retrieve artifact from the debris field, what else is there to see that is different? It’s still sunk, still not going anywhere, and still covered in rust stalactites. I couldn’t tell you the difference between one expedition’s images and another’s at this point.

I am really active, and I work out a lot. Some days when I go really hard at the gym, the next day I can be pretty sore. I really needed a massage! I wanted the best though. I asked around and almost everyone told me to get a massage in Huntington Beach. I went there and I LOVED it. I have never gotten a better massage. The other massage places I have gone to have asked me what kind of massage I was looking for but didn’t exactly give me what I wanted. When I told the the massage therapist at Cloud Mover Day Spa, they did exactly what I wanted and nothing less. The environment was to relaxing and calm. Now I don’t just go there to get a massage when I am sore. I go there almost once a week! I can not stay away from there! It keeps me so stress free! This is also a great gift to give someone!

Growing readership

If you want to experience a huge explosion in your blog readership, you can take advice from someone who has done it. Celestine Chua took a blog and grew the subscriber readership by 3,000+ in 3 months. I won’t spoil any details, but Celestine developed a plan and went to work. That’s the long and short of it.

Twinkies natural origin

This is just too unusual to pass up. Twinkies, the snack food many joke could survive a nuclear holocaust, is in the middle of an “all-natural” debate. The reason for the debate is that some of the ingredients for Twinkies are actually mined. That’s right, mined. A Twinkie has minerals included with other mot traditional food ingredients. I’m not sure I want to eat one of these again, and hopefully no one tries to dissect M&M’s.

Any one watch the Emmy awards last night? Anyone try blogging the event live? I’m not a big fan of awards shows; the only I really watched was the Oscars, but even my attention for that has waned drastically. Maybe one of these years I will do a blog or twitter during a live event.

Blogging world change

I was reading about an interesting article on how blogs and the people behind them can be a positive force for change in this world. The most unique idea Jerry Thor has is to host a fundraiser on your blog. I’m not sure how this would work for someone working from his basement, but I like that idea a lot.

Multiple twitter accounts

I understand why some people have a twitter account, but multiples? What is the benefit/purpose for that? Unless you own a business or two, having multiple Twitter accounts doesn’t seem to make sense. Well, if you happen to fall into that category, you may want to take a look at this program called Seesmic Air.
