Who needs a house, a college education or medical insurance when you can have a Hasselblad? Released in 2009, the H4D-60 is what some might call "pricey". While the Hasselblad website won't give out prices on any of their equipment or even in their product brochures, reports online estimate this bad boy ranging from $41,995 to $43,000. Either way you price it, it is over $40,000 and that is some serious cash money. The name alludes to a few features that make this camera worth so much. Stemming from the company's point of pride, the H System cameras, this one boasts a 60 megapixel medium format sensor. Sixty. Sixty!!! Add to that the fact that they launched this camera with the new True Focus technology and the new Phocus 2.0 imaging software, this camera is in its own class of technology.

Expensive Jeans, Demand, and Money Talk

This was the question that ran through my mind as I perused the September issue of Lucky Magazine and saw a model wearing a pair of True Religion jeans. Dear God, why would anybody want to pay $200 for a pair of jeans?

Of course, the answer in one word: Demand. True Religion is one of the "It" brands out there right now. Every fashionista deemed "cool" are wearing these jeans, so if you want to be "cool", well, you're willing to fork over the moola to pay for them.

There's no logical thought given to the fact that if you took that same $200 and invested it at 10% over 10 years, it could yield you thousands of dollars. Oh no, we wouldn't want to trade in our "cool" status for a measly dollar! So, back to Joe's question, Is it right to sell jeans for $200 and up? Share your thoughts!

$500,000 Watch Isn't Worth It, God I'm Poor

The Zenith Defy Xtreme Tourbillon ZERO-G El Primero watch has a long name, costs $500,000, and I don't get it. In a veritable technical revolution, ZENITH Manufacture has devised the Zero-G system, in other words zero gravity! The gyroscope cage Tourbillon comprises an escapement mounted on cardan joints rather like marine chronometers. The instrument, which is sensitive to changes of position, is kept in a constant horizontal position, thereby ensuring optimal amplitude for the spiral balance-wheel. Coordination is provided by an invention patented by ZENITH: a second gear train is the reference point for the swinging of the escapement axles and a differential gear with inverter compensates all the relative movements of the framework. The Zero-G Tourbillon, whose cage alone comprises 166 of the 294 parts that make up the device, 10 conical geared wheels with spiral teeth and 6 ball-bearings, was developed from the El Primero automatic caliber that beats at the record speed of 36,000 vibrations an hour.

Did that make any sense? I didn't actually bother reading past the part the word "veritable", but that's because I knew I wouldn't understand what they were talking about. So someone give it to me straight -- does this watch allow you to travel back in time or not? Because if the answer is not then it's a freaking ripoff. Besides, what sort of a-hole with $500,000 to spend on a watch needs to know what time it is anyway?

A recent study by Mercer's 2011, Cost of Living Survey, took Luanda in Angola, located on the west coast of Southern Africa, to the top spot as the most expensive city in the world for expatriates. Tokyo now has the title of the most expensive in Asia and is at second place in the world. Mercer is a human resources consultancy firm.

Even though New Delhi ranked 85, Mumbai was at 95 and Bangalore at180 in the world, they have turned out to be the most expensive cities in India for expatriates, in the same order. One of the main reasons most Asian cities have moved up in the ranking is because although expatriate accommodation is limited, the demand is high. The more popular cities like London fell to 18th from 17th last year, New York dropped to 32nd from 27th, while Singapore and São Paolo made it to the top 10 on the list.
