Mono is an extinct legendary creature. Its horn was said to have medicinal qualities. An ancient symbol of courage, virtue and freedom, Mono was tasked with calming the ancient beast Leon. Their eventual conflict is said to bring about the end of the world. Crude effigies of Mono are routinely found in forests, it is unknown whether they are the work of humans or creatures.

Menqilin is a rarely sighted legendary creature, considered by folklorists to be the “companion to the gods”. Its solitary horn is a powerful electric conductor, channeling lightning from the clouds, which it can release in powerful bursts. Menqilin often come to the aid of creatures in need but never seek out conflict. The creature’s molted scales are prized possessions amongst those who indulge in folklore. Menqilin have never been sighted when not running.

Markipolitan’s evolution is triggered by overpopulation. During evolution the villages move around frequently, attempting to stake out new territory on the growing landmass. The most powerful Puugs and Craus occupy the barracks on its tail, using it as a look-out point to sight incoming aggressors.

The evolution of Kidage, Villoat is a steady beast. So much so that the Craus and Puug that settle atop their horns never even notice their movement. Congregating in packs, these animals create cities, often laying next to each other so their respective villages may trade and socialise.

Antlerabra is deceptively small. The creature sheds its waxy antlers every season by rubbing them against trees. A nocturnal creature, Antlerabra is considered “the light of the forest”, as other creatures will follow it through the night. The creature always ends its journey at a fresh watering hole, inadvertently assisting its followers. In the winter Antlerabra use their flaming antlers to clear snow so they may eat the fresh grass below.

Dashing Hound is the evolution of Carcimine. Carrying on its predecessors smoking habit, it uses the shed antlers of Antlerabra to create a greater fire projecting apparatus. Dashing Hounds are proud creatures, but when their fire is extinguished they will quickly scamper away. They often hide in trees for days until they are sure that their opponent has left.

The final evolution of Zapatiel and Hentricity, Groutlet boasts a most unusual dance ritual. It appears almost entirely pointless, as the dance is neither for mating nor dominance. Most Groutlet spends their entire lives in solitude and both genders can produce eggs. Perhaps its ridiculous display is to lull combatants into a false sense of security and allow Groutlet to unleash an unexpected attack. Its tail feathers act as barbs that stick into the body of its enemies, repeatedly shocking them until they succumb.

Ottale’s rock-hard scaled belly is used for combing sea and lake-beds to dislodge shell-fish. They possess an adeptness for using tools and are deceptively strong due to an excess of muscle tendons. A single strike from an Ottale can crack even the hardest of objects, whether it is a clam or an enemy. Ottale can float for days, expending little energy as they travel from place to place. They often travel in pairs and hold hands so they don’t drift apart. Local folklore considers Ottale a messenger between humans and creatures.

Ineku is a stoic guardian to smaller creatures and children in need. The creature’s coat has a soft, papery texture, unlike that of any creature discovered to date. Historically considered a symbol of good fortune, Ineku’s presence also induces evolution in some creatures.
