Many people in today's culture live without faith, without knowing the Lord. The Lord will never fail you though. God is not finite, He is infinite, never changing.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='https://capturedthoughtsoflife.blogspot.com/2021/12/a-man-without-faith-by-richard-church.html' title='"A Man Without Faith" It has so much freedom of expression and emotion in it, you can't help but feel the poets thoughts. I love how you can take the most simplest thing, like a flower or a beautiful spring day, and write about it as if it was magic from another land! It is sad to me that more people don't enjoy the simple pleasure of reading poetry. That is why I started this blog, so that more people can discover the joy of poetry.

Sometimes we don't know how to help, but more than often we don't take the initiative to help. I encourage you to be more observant of other's struggles and problems. While also being more observant of ways you can help. You never know how you can be a blessing to others!

                                                    ❉❉❉❉

We also need to remember that just because someones "social media life" looks good doesn't mean that their reality is great and amazing. We need to be observant of people outside of social media because that is when we can help the most.

                                                     ❉❉❉❉

I'm not saying you have to fix everyone's life either. Many have been afraid of death this past year, not wanting to die of COVID, or letting others die of it. I believe we should be careful around others. However, we should not live our lives in fear of what may, or may not happen. As Christian's, we need to trust that God has a plan for our lives, no matter what!

In Jeremiah 29:11 it says: For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

                                                                     ❉❉❉❉

Very often we do not know what God's plan for our life is. Sometimes it's scary, but we always know that it is good. Even during the difficult times, when life seems at its worst, we can put our faith in God and grow from the experience.

Today is short quote day. So, I gave you two that I think are extremely important. There are so many people today, young and old, that don't know their history. For instance, did you know that "Santa Clause" was a real man who was a christian in the 4th-century? (Santa History) Also St. Patrick was a fifth-century Christian missionary and bishop from Ireland. (St. Patrick History) These are small examples but still important. No one tells you about the christian perspective on history. Everything is so secularized, even our holidays!

People wonder why our world is the way that it is. Well, this is why. Everyone is so busy screaming things that they don't fully understand. I know for some of us history can seem boring. However, if we took more time to understand the past and the people that came before us, then I believe we would be better prepared to speak about our beliefs and our future.

    - Captured Thoughts

A Quote from Uncle Tom's Cabin

"'If this world were all, George,"' said Simeon "'Thee might, indeed ask, where is the Lord? But it is often those who have least of all in this life whom He chooseth for the kingdom. Put thy trust in Him, and, no matter what befalls thee here, He will make right hereafter."'

              - Uncle Tom's Cabin

                                                                  ❉❉❉❉

This quote really stuck out to me when reading Uncle Tom's Cabin. During the book George has a hard time seeing what God is doing in his life and why He is letting him go through all these trials. I love how Simeon replies with "'no matter what befalls thee here, He will make right hereafter.'"! So many times we get caught up in our own life and struggles that we forget that God has a plan for our life even during the difficult times. If we believe in Christ and believe we will go to heaven, then the toils of this world mean nothing!

                                                                  ❉❉❉❉

George has such a great character development in this story. I love how he goes from someone who don't know the Lord, to being a man who strives to serve the Lord! You really see his struggles and what he goes through but in the end he comes to know the Lord and starts to trust in Him!

                                                                           ❉❉❉❉

I honestly can't tell you how good the book Uncle Tom's Cabin is! The book is set before the American civil war when slavery was normal. The main character is Uncle Tom, even though I focused on one of the side characters, George. It talks about what slavery was really like, the good and the bad. I learned a lot from this book and I highly recommend it!

The book was published in 1852 by Bantam Classic and written by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

A Quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder

"The real things haven't changed. You see so many people being deceitful, being greedy, and not enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Everyone is so caught up in their own agendas, their own plans, and their own wishes that no one looks at the beauty of life. When things go wrong and their plans don't work out, their worlds crumble to dust.

We need to learn to enjoy the simple things in life. When things don't go as planned we need to take a step back, have a little courage, pray, and go on with our life. I know it is easier to say than to do, especially when it feels like everything is falling around you. But I believe if we strive to live like this then we will be much happier!

                          - Ella Wheeler Wilcox

This poem was found in the book, Best Loved Poems Of The American People, selected by: Hazel Felleman. The book was published in 1936. Although, I'm not sure when the poem was first published.

"Worth While" is one of my favorite poems. I love how Ella Wheeler Wilcox brings out that being prudent while life is easy isn't enough. You must be prudent when life is hard. It's only when you are tempted that your true character shines. We all have choices in life. We must not choose temptation. We must resist desire because those that choose to be prudent even when life is hard are the one's that are worth while!

I also encourage you to be a good example and to let your light shine before others because people are watching you, even if you don't realize it. They watch to see how you handle certain situations, whether you're going to let temptation in, or resist. In all circumstances, you are an example to others, good or bad.

I want to point out as well that we have the choice be joyful during our trials and tribulations and we have the choice to be down and depressed. I encourage you to choose joy because being down and depressed helps no one. It only hurts yourself. I will say, however, that there is a time and place for everything. You can cry when you are sad, but you don't need to let that time of sadness run your life. You need to move on and focus on the joy in your life.

This are my thoughts on this poem. I hope you liked it and got something out of it as well!
