KCS Engineering is a subsidiary of KOLLVIK Recycling, S.L. a Spanish manufacturer of composting machinery for treating organic waste. The company was founded in 1982 and since then has been providing a complete range of composting equipment for on-site treatment of organic waste including:

• “MULTICOMP” manually operated rotating composters.

These units are designed for individual use and come in 3 different models with treating capacities from 2 ltr/day to 20 ltr/day.

• “BIOCOMP” industrial fully automatic composters.

Industrial composters are operated electronically and are designed and built to create perfect aerobic conditions for composting large quantities of organic waste (raw and cooked food, water treatment plant sludge, animal carcasses and all types of green waste such as garden and agricultural waste). Capacities range from 50 ltr/day to over 3,000 ltr of waste per day.

• Accessories and ancillary equipment such as bio-filters, separate collection buckets and systems, tools for handling compost etc.

BIOCOMP composters can be combined to form bigger capacity treatment plants, for on-site or centralized composting, allowing for an easier management and handling of the waste as well as a good monitoring of the quality of the compost obtained.

Composting plants using our rotating in-vessel composters are currently operating in Spain, Malta, France, Sweden and other European countries. Plants in Asia are expected to be commissioned soon, including for food waste recycling in housing estates.

The composting process is fully aerobic and does not require energy or bacterial inputs, making it the most sustainable technology for treating large quantities of organic waste. The compost obtained is fully compliant with EU, US and HKORC (Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre) standards, providing properly separated organic waste is loaded.

In comparison with other composting or bio-digestion systems, aerobic composting produces a fully mature, rich and safe to use soil that does not need any further treatment or mixing. The compost does not have sizeable concentrations of NH4+ (Ammonium) nor produces CH4 (Methane), the only byproducts being water and CO2. Overall the process has a Global warming Potential 26 times smaller than throwing organic waste to landfills, biomethanization or other non-aerobic composting methods.
