These are personal business cards for me (eltipo) as a freelance designer. They are letterpressed by my friends of Kastaar (http://www.kastaar.com/). Frontside is blind pressed on 600g Gmund Cotton Linen paper. All finished with a custom airbrush gradient on the sides. I like business cards to be clean, to the point and with a special touch/twist.
Production costs were about 500€ for an edition of 400pcs.

That card was designed for a law office. The logo is a mixed letter from the two partners initials. To keep a neat and serious tone I designed it simple, playing with a textured paper and an embossed logo.

This is a business card designed by SEIMI.
The large layout at cartoonish design, reflects the designers personal style.
Card is letterpress printed in Two-color, paper type is “half air”.
Printing is a Japanese manufacturer “KAPPANMEIS.COM”. They have amazing skills to push precise fine illustrations.

About the business card:
It was made for a small company that practice in Interior design, construction and project management.
I tried to combine these worlds together so people would realize they have several Specialties.
I was inspired by the Architectural drawing which refers to the constructing part, and tiles texture that will imply to the interior design part.
It was printed in Israel.
It’s printed on Recycled Paper because she works a lot with these materials.

The inspiration was like we wanted every piece to be different, so they are hadpainted with acrilic, and on mounted cardboard. We made some stamps for each side, one for the logo and one with the infos so we stamp every single card one by one.
It is a quite low cost production, once you pay for the stamps then the production is free after, the cardboard is very cheap and we had those acrilics already.

The cards made for traders of bakery and lake corporate. Idea was created during breakfast in kitchen, just when viewed cuted braed:)

We used color cardboard and mat papper, which glue on. Laser cut. Offset print.

First, I believe the business card is very important for everyone, not just designers. It’s a form where you are expressing yourself with forms and colors, and you are using that card as a reminder for someone. You are giving the card, that is a your expression, to remind that you are ready for that job if someone needs you. It’s self expression adapted into something more professional.
What inspired me, besides my thoughts of what the business card means to me, were geometric forms. I believe that geometric forms can express what, sometimes, words can’t. And what I think it’s fun about them, it’s that they can be confusing or very clear, so even with confusion you can express something.

I thought I’d print them on luster paper, because it’s something of a middle ground between the glossy and matte paper. Luster it’s still shiny enough so it’s good for color rendition, and it’s practical to read and handle, and the I thought a thickness of about 300 gms/12 point would be sufficient. It would be printed on both sides. An inkjet printer or professional printer would be my preferences to print this card, because I believe the laser printer isn’t the best suited for glossy papers. But, I have been considering printing on matte paper with glossi signature finish.

As for the production cost, I made a research about some places before I decided where I would print them, so I could find the best price, but that would offer me good quality, of course. It was difficult to trust, and I had to test the top 3 of my list, but I found the perfect place and now I know where I can print them. I still had to print them though, and that’s why I don’t have any pictures yet. Since I live in Brazil, one card costs me R$ 4 (which is about $15).

They are made by hand from a sheet of dyed through raw black cardboard I found in Falsbenets workshop (a bookbinders association that I’m a member of). Unfortunately it was the last sheet of that specific material and I haven’t been able to find any supplier that sells carboard in that kind of quality.

I decided to blind emboss the cards to accentuate the roughness of the material’s texture and structure, and combine that with a very simple centered typograhic design set in DIN. I like the synergy effect you get when you take something very rustic and natural and combine that with something engineered and technical. 1+1=3 and so on.

It’s hard to specify a production cost since it did them by hand for my own company, but the production cost of the magnesium embossing block was about 100USD. And IF you could find a supplier that sells this sort of cardboard I would guess that the price would be at least 5-6 times the cost of regular book production cardboard, but that’s only a guess.

The inspiration came from the story telling as a meaning. It is a dual card offset print. One card has embossed letter and no ink at all and the other card is printed in black color.. Production cost was around 200€ for 3000 Cards!

Storytelling is the conveying of events in words, sound and/or images, often by improvisation or embellishment. The term ’storytelling’ is used in a narrow sense to refer specifically to oral storytelling and also in a looser sense to refer to techniques used in other media to unfold or disclose the narrative of a story. (by wiki).
The main concept of this card was to follow the idea of story telling. A clean card that in a sense is traspanrent and it’s contact info unveals depending of the natural light or by a pencil.

Cerdelli

Cerdelli young is an italian chain of shops focused on streetwear. The card concept followed the brand’s guidelines targeted on the super-young teen public. The style is minimal in both form and content, the aim was to ease the reading even with the use of an handwriting font: Kneweave.

The ispiration for this work came all the way from the teenager’s world: the use of the hashtag, the bright colors and the text with his marker pen look is a reference to the graffiti world.

The card were printed on white uncoated paper, with a cost of 0.25€ each. The grammage is pretty high, 700gr/mq. We wanted to obtain a nice sensation of thickness on the hand.
