The Penetrating Card.

Effect: - The magician asks the spectator to select a card. The card is placed back in the pack. The pack is placed face down on the table. Now the magician shows an empty card box and places it on the top of the cards on the table saying that this will be a protection for the cards not to fly off. In the meantime he takes a handkerchief from his pocket and shows it empty. He then takes the card box on the top of the cards and places in the centre of the handkerchief and places the whole set up, hanky and the cards together, on the top of the cards on the table. Thus the order will be as follows. First the cards on the table, then the hanky, then the cards pack. The magician says that the selected card is now going to penetrate the hanky and go inside the cards box. Saying so he opens the card box and removes a card from the card pack. That happens to be the selected card.

Preparation:-Place glue at the back of the card box. This has to be placed in such a way that if the box is placed on the top of the cards pack on the table and a little pressure is given on the card box, the top card sticks to the back of the card box. (See figure).

Presentation:-Once the spectator selects the card and places the card back in the pack ,the card is brought back to the top position. (Please see this post which explains how to bring the selected card to the top). Then card pack is placed on the table face down . Now the magician places the card box with the glued side downward on the top of the card pack and apply a little pressure.The selected card at the top will stick to the back of the card box . Now remove the hand kerchief and place the card box in the middle of the hand kerchief (not showing the card that is struck at the back ) with the struck card at the bottom side on the hanky. Place the whole set up on the cards pack on the table in such a way that ,at the bottom there is the cards pack followed by hanky and then followed by card box.
Now tell that the selected card is going to penetrate the hanky and enter the card box. Wave your hand over the set up as a magical gesture and remove the card box ,taking care that the side with the card does not face the audience. Now open the pack and as though removing the card from the inside remove the card from the back where it is struck. The top flap will cover the move.(see figure) .

The Xerox Machine.

Effect :- The spectator selects a card from the pack .It is returned in the pack .The magician cuts the pack a few times .He then takes a card from the top of the pack and asks whether the card is the selected card .The spectator says no. He then places that card perpendicular to the pack in the middle .He then pushes the card to the other side (See the picture ) .The magician says that he is taking Xerox of the card. But when the card it removed, it is found to have changed into the selected card.

Preparation: - A short card is required for the magic. This is placed in the middle of the pack. This can be prepared by taking an ordinary card and cutting a small strip from the top of the pack so that the card is little shorter than the other cards. When the pack is riffled the short card can be felt in the riffle.

Presentation:-Once the spectator selects the card ,the magician riffles the pack to feel the short card .The pack is cut at that position .The short card will be on the top of the lower half of the cut. The selected card is asked to be placed on the top of the lower half .Thus the selected card goes above the short card. Now the card is cut a few times. Now during the final cut riffle shuffle to locate the short card and cut at that position. The selected card will become the bottom card .Now shuffle the card to bring the bottom card to the top . See false shuffles. Now double lift (see video on double lift ) the first two cards and show the two cards as one. Ask the spectator whether it is the selected card .He will say no. Now place the cards on the top of the pack. Now just remove the first card ,which is the selected card .Tell the spectator that I am going to take a xerox of this card first. Insert that card in the pack ,perpendicular to the pack and push it to the other side .Remove it from the other side saying that I am taking Xerox. But when the Xerox is finished the card would be shown as to have changed to the selected card.

Palming !!!

Card fetcher !!!

Effect: -

The magician removes two cards from the pack .Then he asks the spectator to select a card from the remaining pack. Spectator notes the number and places the card on the top of the pack face down. Now the cards are cut a few times .Now the magician says that he will introduce two cards into the packet .These cards will fetch the selected card (Let us say the 2 cards as card fetchers). He then cuts the pack and places the two cards at the cut position. He then assembles the pack by putting the top cut part over the bottom part of the cut cards containing the fetcher cards. Now the pack is cut a few more time and then placed in an empty card box. Magician shows his hand over the pack and removes the cards from the card box .Now the magician spreads the cards face up. To every body’s surprise the selected card is found between the two fetcher cards introduced.

Preparation:-
Need two more extra cards say (9 dice and 10 clubs).So there will be two 9 dice and two 10 clubs making the total cards to 54 to begin with.
Also the card box will contain glue at the top inner side of the box and bottom inner side of the box .So that if the cards are placed in the box the top card and the bottom card gets attached to the top and the bottom part of the box.
Now place the two fetcher cards (9 dice and 10 clubs) at the top (top card) and the bottom part of the cards (bottom card).
Make another card say Ace hearts shorter than the other cards by cutting a small strip from the top part of the card.(Say short card).Keep this short card in the middle of the pack.

Presentation:-
To begin the presentation start by removing the 9 dice and 10 clubs (other than the one at the top of the pack and bottom part of the pack ).Place that aside. Tell the spectator that I will tell you about this later.
Now fan the cards and ask the spectator to select a card from the pack .If he selects the top or the bottom card .Just do some change or acting to make them select any other card.
Now ask the spectator to place the card on the top part of the pack after noting the card. Obviously the card will be placed above the fetcher card in the top of the pack. Now cut the cards (take a small pile from the bottom part and place at the top ) a few times. As a result the bottom fetcher card will come on the top of the selected card. The selected card will come in between the two fetcher cards.
Now begin by introducing the two cards placed aside (9 and 10) .Tell the spectator that this is going to fetch the selected card. Saying so fan the cards .Feel the short card while you fan. Cut at that position. The short card will be in the bottom part of the cut .Now place the two cards 9,10 above the short card and place the top cut part on the top of the bottom cut part containing the 9,10 at the top.
Now just cut the cards again.This is to show the spectator that the card is lost in the pack. Next cut, you will do by fanning the cards till the short card .Cut at that position. The 9 and 10 will be in the bottom position of the top cut part of the pack. Place the lower cut part on the top of the pack making the 9 and 10 as the last card of the pack .End the cut by taking one card from the bottom casually and placing it on the top .Do not refer to it or do anything. Just let it be a casual part of the act. Accordingly the 9 and 10 will be at the top and bottom position of the pack.
Now place the cards in the card box. Close the box and press gently on the box. The top card and the bottom card (9, 10) will stick to the top and the bottom part of the box. Now remove the cards from the box. The 9, 10 will be left in the card box.
Spread the cards on the table face up. The selected card will be found in between the two fetcher cards to everybody’s surprise.

Colour changing cards!!!

Effect: - The magician fans the card pack to show that all the cards are black cards (spades and clubs). He then places a red card in the front and fans the card .All the card turns into red. He then places both red and black cards .All cards both black and red turn up.

Preparation: - Place one red card and then one black card in an alternative order. But while placing the two cards see to it that there is a small gap in the top. Now place a red card again. This red card should be parallel to the red card placed earlier and little above the black card. Similarly place a black card parallel to the black card and little below the red card. Keep arranging the red and black cards alternatively in this fashion till all the pack is completed. See the figure. If you now fan the cards from the top side the cards will show as red and if you fan the card from the bottom side the cards will show as black. Arrange in this way all the cards except a black and red card.

Presentation:-To start the presentation, first take the single red card and place at the bottom of the pack parallel to the red faced cards. Do not show the split portion at the bottom to the spectator .Keep it covered by the palm. Tell the spectator that since you have placed a red card, all the cards have turned red. Saying so fan the cards from the top side containing the red cards in the front. All the cards will show red. Now remove the red card and place the black card in the bottom (parallel to the black card-do not show how you are placing to the spectator) parallel to the black card and fan the cards from the black end .All the cards would have turned black. Now place both the cards and say all the cards will appear. Saying so secretly arrange the pack in the right order and fan the cards .All the cards will show.

Vanishing Ace !!!

Effect :- The Magician shows three ACE .Two black ace (clubs and spade) and one red ace (Ace dice).He asks the spectator to select one ace .All the three aces are placed in the deck. Now the deck is handed to the spectator to remove the selected ace.Hey !!! the selected ace is not in the pack.It will be in the magician's pocket.

Preparation :-Place the Ace of dice in the pocket. Now arrange the ace of clubs ,Ace of spade and ace of hearts as shown in the figure.
The Ace of hearts will now be shown as ace of dice by arranging in that fashion.

Presentation :-Tell the spectator that i have taken three aces which are two black aces and the one red ace ,which is ace of dice and show the three cards in the order shown in the figure .(The ace of hearts will look like ace of dice ).We must now force the spectator to select the ace of dice.(the ace of hearts shown as ace of dice)
Ask the spectator to select either the black aces or the red one ,say it as ace of dice ( though it is ace of hearts).
If the spectator says black cards ,tell him that since he has selected the black card i am going to make the ace of dice vanish. If he selects the ace of dice ,tell him that since he has selected ace of dice ,i am going to make the ace of dice vanish.In any case you are only going to make the ace of dice vanish.
Now turn all the three cards face down and keep each card in the pack.
Now ask the spectator to look for the ace of dice in the pack .Of course ,it will not be there as the card placed in the pack is ace of hearts.Now remove the ace of dice from the shirt pocket as the final showdown.

The 21 Card Effect !!!

Effect :-

Remove 21 cards from the pack.Divide it into 3 packs of 7 cards. Ask the spectator to select any one pack out of the three. fan the pack to the spectator .Let him remember one card. Now all the cards 21 are placed together and again divided into 3 packs of 7 cards.Now the spectator is asked which pack contains his card. Then again the 21 cards are placed together.Now again the cards are divided into 3 packs of 7 cards and the spectator is asked to chose the pile containing his card.Now magician places all the card together and counts to his card and reveals it.

Presentation :-
First the pack is selected by the spectator and a card from that is chosen (remembered and not taken out of the pack).When assembling all the three pack together,now, you keep the chosen pack of 7 cards in the middle of the other two 7 cards pile.Now again divide the pack into 7 cards ,ask the spectator to tell which 7 pack has his card.Now repeat the above process in assembling.That is place the pack containing the selected card in the middle of the other two pack.Now repeat the process again and put the pack containing the 7 cards in the middle of the pack.Now count to the 11th card from the top .This will be the selected card.

Miraculous card transportation!!!

Effect :-
The magician asks the spectator to select a card.The card is removed from the pack and put in an empty card box.Then he takes the remaining pack and puts them in another card box.He says that now he is going to transport the single selected card in the box back to the pack of cards to which it belongs (which is in another box).When he removes the box containing the single card it is found to be another card and not the selected card.When the other box containing the remaining pack is opened and the cards checked it is found to include the selected card.

Presentation.:-
This card requires the performance of double lift.See the video on double lift.To present the trick take the card packet in the left hand.Fan the cards to the spectator (face down).Ask him to touch any card.Divide the pack at that part so that the selected card is left at the top part of the bottom pile and the top pile is kept at the bottom of the pack.Now the selected card will become the first card in the pack.Now double lift the first two cards and show the second card as the selected card.Place the two cards back in the top part of the pack.Take the first card from the pack (which the spectator believes to be the selected card).Place it in a card box.Do not show that to the spectator again.Just place the card in the box by saying that i am placing your selected card in the box.Now the selected card will be left at the top part of the remaining pack.Now shuffle the remaining pack and place it in another card box.Now disclose the transfer as stated above.

Alternate order of card change !!!

Effect :-
THe magician places 5 cards from the pack face down on the table in a row,one at a time , by showing the cards number (face of the card) to the spectator. When the cards are opened it has changed order in such a way that the 1st card is in 2nd place,2nd card is in 3rd place etc ....and 5th card is in first place.

Preparation :-
To do this magic ,you need to know the concept of double lift. It is shown in the video below.Also you need two cards of the same one .Say two 4 dice.Place one 4 dice in top of the pack and the other at the 6th position.

Presentation :-
Double lift the first two cards and show. Now place them back in the pack and take the first card and place it on the table.Actually you will be placing the 4 dice in the table. Similarly double lift again and place the first card in the table. This will be your first card shown to audience.Contiune this process for 3 more time.In the 5 th time ,when you will double lift, you will be showing the 4 dice as the fifth card.But when you will place the two cards back in the pack and place the top card as fith card the 4 dice will be left at the top of the pack. Now when you open the five cards ,the 1st will be in 2nd ,2nd will be in 3rd etc ....and 5th card(4 dice) will be in the first position

Extraordinary card force.

Effect :- Select 4 spectators from the audience .Tell them that each person has to select a card from the pack. Now ask a spectator to say stop when you fan the cards face down.Ask him to take the card at the place at which he stops and remember the card and place it back in the deck .Repeat the process with the other 3 spectators. Now the magician writes his prediction. Ask the spectator to reveal the selected card. All the spectators would have selected the same card. Now open the prediction that the magician has written on the paper .It happens to be the same.

Preparation :-
You need to create a special pack for this purpose. Out of the 52 cards 26 cards should be of the same card and this is to be forced.Let us assume that card is Ace of clubs. Thus the pack will consist of 26 ace of clubs and remaining 26 different cards. The difficult part is to get 26 cards of the same type.You can also prepare any other card type using a pack of cards having one symbol pasted on the face of cards .The symbols should be of 26 different types and another one symbol of the same type in the remaining 26 cards. In any case you need 26 different cards and one card of the same symbol in 26 numbers. Now cut a short part from the top part of the 26 cards of the same type. It should be cut on the margin at the top part bredth wise (shorter side of the cards).Thus this 26 cards will become little shorter that the 26 other normal cards in length.In fact the cut should be too small that the cut is not visible unless the cards are put together and fanned from the top edge . Your fingers will have a friction at the short cards.Now place a normal card at the top ,followed by a short card (ace of clubs)then again a normal card and then a short card.Follow this process to complete the 26 cards .All the normal and short cards are placed alternatively and first top card face down in the pack will be a normal card.Now if we fan the card with the thumb at the top part of the cards (well ordered) we will go straight through the tall cards (normal cards ) and when we stop at any place the short card will be at the top part of the break.

Preparation:-
Now fan the cards and show it from the Front part of the fan as an ordinary pack.(Actually what happens is the short card adheres to the back of the long card and only the long cards will be visible in the fan).Now ask the spectator to stop at a place when the magician fans.Ask him to take the top card in the lower part of the break.It will obviously be the ace of clubs. Repeat this process with the other 3 spectators. All would select ace of clubs. Now write your prediction on a piece of paper as ace of clubs. Thus when the predictions are revealed all will be the same.

Effect: - The Magician Writes a Prediction on a notepad. He then asks a spectator to select a card from the pack and show it to all (including the magician). Then he makes a second prediction on the next page of notepad. He then again asks the spectator to select a second card and show it to all. He then writes a third prediction and asks the spectator to select a third card and show it to all. When the predictions are revealed it happens to be the same as the spectator has selected.

Presentation:
When the pack is shuffled make note of the top card of the pack. Now while making the first prediction in the notepad, take the third page of the notepad and write the prediction as the top card which you have seen earlier . Now when the spectator selects the first card and shows it to all, take note of the card .Now while writing the second prediction write the first card selected by the spectator as the prediction in the first page of the note pad. Now the spectator will take and reveal the second card. Take note of this and write this as the prediction in the second page of the note pad. Now while asking the spectator to select the third card you have to force him to select the top card (which you wrote first in the note pad).This can by done as follows. Ask a spectator to tell a number from 1 to 10.Let us say it is 10 which he selected. Now place one card at a time face down on the table and count to 10.Now your top card will be in the 10th position. Now act as though you are thinking something and tell the spectator that it will be better if he counts to the 10th card .Saying so place the counted 10 cards on the top of the pack. Now the top card will be at the 10th position. So when the spectator selects the 10th card it will be the forced card.

The parties shall attempt to resolve any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the creation, performance, termination and/or breach of this Agreement in the first instance through good faith negotiation or mediation between the parties. Any claims or disputes arising from or related to this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the laws of India framed from time to time and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Generally with a Brainwave deck we can show any chosen card as containing Red back(when the deck is blue backed only).Though this is a simpler version of the magic and involves different preparation ,still it is worth noting this .This has the same effect with lesser number of cards and also easy to perform.So here is the magic effect first.

Magical Double card prediction!!!

Effect: - The magician places face down a set (two cards each) of 8 cards (Totaling 16) cards in the table. In other words the 16 cards are grouped into 8 packs consisting of two cards each, all face down. Now two spectators are asked to select 1 set (2 cards ) each and after memorizing the cards ,to place the card set back on the table .Now the Magician takes the 8 sets and arranges the cards into 4 rows consisting of 4 cards each in such a way that the cards are at random. Now one spectator is asked to point out, only the rows containing his cards. Suppose he says that his cards are in 2 nd and 4th row, the magician immediately points out the selected cards. He repeats the same with the other spectator.

Preparation:-
You should first memorise four words and the order first.
1. TION
2. PMTM
3 NIKP
4 JKOJ

Now if you look at the words T comes in 1 st and 2 nd row at the following position 1 and 3 respectively. Similarly if you take I it comes in 1st and 3rd row. In this way all the letters are at two places. So this is all you have to memorize .Just memorize the words .

Presentation:-
Once the two spectators selects two sets of cards and places them back on table, the magician has to collect all the sets into a pile taking care that the order of two in the 8 sets does not gets affected .Now when placing the cards back into four rows of 4 what magician does is, he remembers the words above and places each of the two cards in the order given in the words. For example if he places the first card in “T “ position in the word, which means in the “ first row ,first card position”, then he places the second card in the 3rd card position of row 2 (As word PM”T”M above has the other “T”).Similarly he places the third card in the 2 nd position of row 1 and places the fourth card in the 2nd position of row 3 as both these places have I’s .Though it appears that the magician is placing the cards at random ,he is actually placing the cards in the order stated above. After placing all the cards in the order he has to ask the spectator to name the rows or the columns in which the cards are present. If, for example, spectator says that both the cards are in 4 th row only, immediately remember the word for the row .Which is “JKOJ” and you immediately know that it should be in the position of the “J” as there are two J ‘s in the row. Now disclose the cards.

Similar colour in the above picture shows the position at which the card sets has to be placed.

3 cards Together (Self working Trick)

Effect :
The magician shows an ordinary pack of cards.He then takes 3 cards of the same number from out of the pack. Let us say 6 clubs , 6 hearts and 6 spade.He places the rest of the pack of cards face down as another pile near the three ‘6 ‘ pile. Now he takes the top most card from the pack(remaining) and places it face down on the table(say this new column of cards as magic pile).He then takes one 6 from the three 6 pile and places it on the top of magic pile .He again takes a card from the top of the pack (remaining ) and places it on the top of the magic pile.He proceeds in this way alternatively and places 3 cards from the pack and 3 sixes alternatively as shown above.
Now when it appears that all the sixes are placed alternatively in the pack, the magician takes the first 3 cards from the 6 cards pile to show them as the 3 sixes to every body’s surprise.

Preparation:
When taking the 3 cards of the same number magician checks the card at the 3rd position from the top. If it is say 6 of diamond, he takes the remaining 3 sixes from the pack.All the remaining things are self working.

Presentation.:
Let us now assume the first 3 cards in the pack are in this order 2,K,6(diamond)( as stated in Preparation).
Now the magician places a card from the pack first ,which in this case is 2.He then places a 6.But when placing the six take care to place the 6 having the same colour as the 6 in the pack (at the third position).Thus here he will place 6 of hearts first.Now he will place K from the pack,then he will place 6(say clubs) .He then places 6 dice from the pack .Then finally he places the remaining 6 (spade).SO the order of cards from the top will be
6 spade, 6 dice , 6 clubs, King ,6 hearts,2.He will now take the first 3 cards which will be sixes.Note that the 6 heart is replaced by 6 dice .So both the cards are not the same.It would be better, if initially ,the sixes are not shown close. Tell that I have taken 3 sixes and show sixes casually.Do not emphasis on the flowers.
It could become much better if you could get another 6 diamond to be placed in the 3rd position so that it replaces the 6 dice from the selection.

The Conversion!!!

Effect:

The magician fans a book which contains blank pages.Now again he shows his hand on the book .He then fans the book again to find pictures on the book.

Preparation:

Draw pictures from the third page of the book on two alternative pages.That is there will be pictures on 3rd ,7th,11th,15th page etc .1st page can be a blank page or with picture.5th,9th,13th etc contain pictures.In the picture shown above the the green page contain picture and yellow blank.Cut the edges of the book as shown in the picture in such a way that if the 3rd ,4th page (2nd paper)has top edge cut then the 5th ,6th page(3rd paper) has a bottom edge cut.

Presentation:

Now fan the book from the top edge .You will only see blank pages.If you fan the book from the bottom page you will see pictures.That is all.
