I personally would have liked to have another single player game. In my opinion, MMOs don't offer the same sense of... storyline that the single player offers. That being said, being able to team up with friends online sounds very cool. If Bioware can pull this off correctly, this will be a must-buy for any KoTOR/Star Wars fan. I personally think the KoTOR series was the most fun I've ever had playing a game. I just hope they don't ruin it.

-Phill

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/cardzidood/~3/YHmLsbfuHEs/kotor-3-mmo.html" title="KoTOR 3? We must change, not because we want to, but because we desperately have to. We can not take life in its current suffocating state, even to admit such desperation shows that we are feeling deserted, wandering the barren desert, a shell of our former selves. It is only up from here, it is impossible to sink any lower into ourselves or our circumstances. But we can be salvaged, a deliverance. No vice can stand, no fix can take. The thorn in the side can be removed, but you have to be willing to admit and surrender. Probably cause it was forever ago.

So what's been going on with me? Well a lot of stuff actually, which is the reason I haven't posted in a while. I just got back from Acuña, México. The city of Acuña is located right on the US Border by the town of Del Rio. This was my second mission's trip ever. After Peru I didn't really know if I would like Acuña, or consider it "less" of a trip because it was just across the border. But if I had to compare the two trips, this one was probably more impacting on me than Peru was. Peru was fun, but I felt like we didn't really accomplish much. In Mexico, I could physically see the impact we were making. There was even a miracle that God let the medical team see on the second day of clinic. A lady had come in and we came to find out that she had a windowpane fall on her hand about two years ago. Since then she could hardly move that hand, and one finger she couldn't move at all because of the pain. The tendon going to her middle finger was severed. My mom gathered the entire medical team together, stopping what we were doing and prayed for this lady, because there was little we could do for her other than pray. When we finished, my mom went to close this lady's hand, and she did! The lady's eyes lit up because it didn't hurt her. My mom felt for the tendon and it was there! This lady's hand was completely healed. That was such a God moment for the medical team, it lifted all of our faiths. And that was just one small part of what God did. I could tell that the pastor of the church there, Pastor Oscar, was fired up about us being there. There was so much that happened that it is hard to write it all down. I never thought I would get into the whole VBS thing, but I was up there cranking the lawnmower with the rest of them. The kids were so cute and adorable, and well behaved. It was really an awesome experience. Unlike what I expected, Acuña was nothing like the United States even though it is right across the border. As soon as we passed through it was like "Ok, we're in a foreign country now". I didn't expect to go back next year, but afterwards I was all ready to sign up.

Another neat thing that happened was our bus driver. He was a cool guy and we talked to him a lot (well pastor mike did) on the way up and he said he couldn't go over with us because he didn't have a passport. When he picked us up and was listening to all the stories, and by the time we got home he told us all that the first thing he was gonna do when he got home was to fill out the passport application he had sitting on his desk so he could come with us across the border next year. He also gave us his email address and told us to email him pictures. I thought that was neat.

I would go on talking about the trip. About Buc-ee's, the hotel that didn't lock the doors, the blue bus that almost didn't make it up the hill, the Oxxo's, the receptionists that I made friends with, the Mexican prison we visited and saw patients in, the food and all other kinds of things. But I don't want to have this post be 10 pages long, so ask me about it in person and I'll be more than happy to talk.

Onto other business. I'm officially accepted into LSU. I got the confirmation email about my final acceptance a few days ago. Classes start on August 25th, but the week before there is a neat little computer science orientation deal. The website for what we will be doing is here. I'm really excited about starting, my mom and I are going to LSU on friday to buy my books and talk to the counselors and stuff.

Another bit of interesting news, Froob Entertainment is in the process of filming a new, awesome, this-will-be-the-best-movie-you-have-ever-seen movie. Well maybe not quite that good, but we are really excited. We have a website dedicated to this new project that you can check out here.

Well I think thats all I have to talk about right now. Hopefully I'll be posting more often, and maybe the next time I do, I'll have my iPhone!!! (thats another story...)

-Phill

My Setup

Thats right. Her name is Eowyn (yes her real name) and I think I said something about her being an awesome artist.

Well with her new album, that is for sure.

Check out Silent Screams, her new album. You can get it at Lifeway. Its not on iTunes yet though. Head on over to http://eowynmusic.com for a preview of the music. I have to be real for a second. Not only is the music awesome, heavy, and very christian... but Eowyn is amazingly gorgeous.

-Phill

Halo 3 Tourny and various things

We have a Halo 3 Tournament comin' up soon at the Annex 1 - Auditorium. If you are interested, please have a look at http://teamfev.com/halo3/. Its gonna be on Saturday April 12th from 7pm to midnight. Going to the aforementioned website will also point you to a place where you can register as a team or by yourself.

All that aside, I've been pretty busy. For those that don't know I have been offered a full paid academic scholarship to LSU. So I'm pretty excited about that. I graduate on the 19th of May which is SUPER exciting because it means I am out of grade school and on to bigger and better things. And some not so good things, but thats part of growing up right? I'm going to Acuna Mexico this summer on a mission's trip which is also gonna be super fun, but requires that I get a job to cover the trip cost. Which isn't that bad compared to say Africa, but its not like I have the funds in the bank, considering I have been spending a lot lately (changing oil, inspection sticker, WoW...). So while I am not asking for money for my trip, I am asking for the prayer support.

Other than trying to work on graduating valedictorian and working up stuff for the tournament, and the various other things that tend to occupy my time, I haven't had much time for things like deep blog posts, and I don't like to waste people's time reading about how i don't have time to post, so I just don't. If that made sense lol.

We had a LAN party over the weekend (we being jason, jake, seth and I; however some other people showed up too, my sister, Alex, Angelle, and Susie). It was fun, when we had the internet working (my wireless router was bugging out). Oh and I realized that CoD4 is much funz.

-Phill

Back in... Black?

So if you haven't noticed, the layout has changed to my blog. This is in an effort to keep the layout consistent between my blog, Jason's blog and the TeamFEV website. Speaking of, the TeamFEV website is mostly ready. The TeamChat portion is finished, but we're still working on the Videos tab.. and the links tab. I am aware that the splash page does not work in Internet Explorer. My comment is, "Get Firefox newb". But seriously if you are still using Internet Explorer, the worst possible browser to use, you really need to experience the web like it should. Mac users won't have any problems because Safari is like Firefox in that they both recognize W3C standards where Internet Explorer does its own thing, causing many design challenges for web designers. In short, it was easier to code it for every other browser except Internet Explorer because IE is stupid. Get Firefox. Seriously.

Look forward to more blogging in teh future.

-Phill

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/cardzidood/~3/urrxH8wBy7c/back-in-black.html" title="Back in... I looked at his first posts and then I just clicked a link somewhere down the line to take me to his older posts. The first post that came up was so profound, it really spoke to me because I went through some of what he talked about not too long ago (and even still today). The full text is here, but here is a little snippet of what he talks about:

"like anyone with a problem, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, well here's my admission. and though i am going to regret posting this at all maybe it will help someone admit something they are dealing with or help someone realize that they don't have to get attention from the opposite sex to feel validated. its so very pointless and shallow. be who you are."

Another thing I like about that post is that it explains how one of my favorite songs was conceived.

Maybe one day Anberlin will do a concert at HPC... I can always dream right?

Also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check this out. Anberlin made a music video for their newest single, An Unwinding Cable Car. Its really powerful, you need to check it out here.

-Phill

New Anberlin Album

If you're like me, your heart probably skipped a beat when you saw the title of my post, but not to worry, its not a full album, but rather a b-sides album.

"The album hits stores on November 20th and features 18 b-sides, covers, acoustic versions, demos, and other rarities.
