The Design Lead leads discovery sessions with carrier representatives in order to capture and document data exchange requirements for carrier partner implementations. These requirements deal specifically with the flow of data between carrier systems and the eEnrollment, eBilling, eDirect, and eSales applications.

Web Developement Internship in Augusta

My company is offering a paid internship in Augusta, GA for the duration of the summer from May 31 to August 9. We are flexible on these dates as we aim to give the student ample time off before classes start back to prepare for the upcoming semester. This will be a paid internship; housing and other accommodations will be provided. The intern will be aiding in the development of a PHP, MySQL based online software, though this will not be their only duty. We are looking for candidates who have experience in PHP, MySQL, HTML, and CSS.

The intern will have the opportunity to work with myself and my partners in a fast-paced, fun, casual atmosphere where we produce high quality work and creative ideas. This is a great opportunity to work with young entrepreneurs who are the masterminds behind several dot-com startups.

Starting Salaries

Colleges rarely teach the newer programming languages like PHP, Ruby and Python, which have become more popular at young Web companies than older ones like Java, he said. Other skills, like working with large amounts of data and analytics, can be acquired only at a few companies.

“There are few programs that actually teach those things, and yet that’s the primary people we hire,” Mr. Lee said.

Err, we use Python in my class, also JavaScript, and jQuery, and the app engine, and...

Webapp Developer at USC Incubator Company

Bluster Monkey is currently seeking out students at USC to help develop and grow a website that is adding a whole new level to social networking and forum discussions. We are a laid back company based out of the USC incubator with former Fortune 500 C-Level guidance. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new organization without the worry or concern over traditional workplaces that require suits and ties. We need several excited, bright, open-minded people, proficient in web development programming as well as animation software experience. Compensation will be discussed during interviews, which will require casual attire. Imagine coming to work in shorts and flip flops while everyone else is dressing up to sit in a cube all day.

Requirements:
Developer: Proficient in PHP, Ruby on Rails, or Python.
Animator: Proficient with Adobe Air or equivalent animation software.

Email Resume to bill@blustermonkey.com

Student Reports from the SET Fair

Below are some quotes from our (Computer majors) students who attended the SET Fair.

"...I learned that computer scientists and engineers are essential to most other career choices."

"There was one thing that really stuck out in my mind before I even arrived at the fair: thank God I am in Computer Science. As I scanned the list of employers and what majors I was looking to hire, I noticed that nearly all of them were hiring majors that related somehow to computers."

"Attending the career fair was a very new and interesting experience that I'm not sure I would have done had it not been for class."

"Because I went to the career fair, I was offered an internship right on the spot."

"Even though I did not go there for a job, I learned a lot which will greatly help me in my future."

"It was also good to see that many companies were looking for Computer Information Systems students, which was great for me since that is my major."

"Seeing all the potentially great places I could work for made me excited to be a CIS major. I'm confident that when I graduate, I will take great pleasure working in the computer field."

"[Student describes being called by BMW and asked to apply after last semester's fair, and continues:] This was probably the best feeling of my life."

"I have about seven companies to contact about possible internships."

"From the whole event, I took away several lessons, the main one being, I can't ever stop learning" [from a student who has an internship and spent part of the time at the booth of the company he interns in].
