Hi everyone! We have decided to sell this year some Fans Club t-shirts again.
The price for the Fans Club t-shirts will be between 8 and 10 euros (11,51 CAD or 14,39 CAD). But take into account that the more t-shirts we all buy, the more cheaper will be!! If there are 10 or more t-shirts ordered, the price will be 8€; if this does not happen, it will be more expensive.

The last day to ask for the t-shirts will be on 5th April 2015, including its payment. You can do it by bank or via Paypal (I think it is the best option for people out of Spain... It is easy to pay by paypal). The shipping with be 6 euros for Spain; the international shipping will depend on the number of t-shirts you order (between 10 and 16€ for Europe - between 18,76 and 21,78 CAD for Canada) and it includes the shipping and envelope).

ROUND 20 || AEK keep winning, this time against AENK (97-73)

The yellow-black team keep winning on the Greek League, and the "victim" this time was AEN Kifisia (97-73). AEK had the control of the game in all its minutes with good distances in the scoreboard. Hairston, Mensah-Bonsu and English were the best of the athenians.

Carl English played 24 minutes. He scored 11 points, he took 2 rebounds (1 offensive and 1 defensive), he gave 2 assists and he did not make personal foults, for 12 of ranking.

AEK could win against Panionios after a complicated game with a difficult game.

The scoreboard was so matched, but thanks to a good performance of the whole yellow-black team, the victory was possible.

Carl English made a good game, playing 32:29 minutes. He scored 20 points, he took 2 defensive rebounds, he gave 4 assist and he made 2 personal foults for 21 of ranking.

ROUND 14 || Seventh victory of AEK; this time, against Koroibos (76-67)

AEK has won this game against Koroibos after being ahead on the scoreboard along the whole game. Although the biggest distance on it was 19 points, Koroibos reacted and they were so closed of AEK (49-43).

Carl English played 24:25 minutes. He scored 11 points, he took 4 rebounds (1 offensive and 3 defensive), he gave 1 assist, he made 2 personal foults and he did 9 turnovers for -3 of ranking.

The yellow-black team won yesterday against KAOD. The Delininkaitis, English and Mensah-Bonsu trio made 79 of 89 total points of AEK in whole game. The team were winning along the game.
Carl English played 27:47 minutes. He scored 22 points, he took 4 rebounds (1 offensive and 3 defensive), he gave 2 assists and he made 5 personal foults for 19 of ranking.

AEK had a good start with 9 points of Captain Canada in the first quarter. The yellow-black team tried to be winning along the game.

But the situation got complicated on last minute of the game and AEK lost against PAOK.

Carl English has played 28:58 minutes. He scored 13 points, he took 7 defensive rebounds, he gave 2 assists and he made 4 personal foults for 12 of ranking.

If you want to see every news of Fans Club you just have to click on "Like" and then click to "get notifications".

I say this because Facebook choose the news they want to show on your wall. Only if the person who manages the page "boost the posts" (so, paying for posts...), the posts will appear on every wall of each person who follows the page. We don't pay... Comparing the number of likes and the number of people reached in every post, it is less than a half of likes... That is why we tell you this!

ROUND 11: AEK Athens wins Rethymno (85-77)

After the returning of Captain Canada of his Christmas holidays and after confirming his staying in Greece this season, AEK has won again this afternoon.

The canadian has made a game on his usual game line with 24 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists for 25 of ranking, sharing his good show with the new AEK Athens player, Pops Mensah-Bonsu.

Hi everyone!

Fans Club website is gonna have a new design soon, as you can see. I want to apologize all of you because my studies have taken my time and I needed to stop a little the website... University requires a lot of time and some of you can understand me. I play basketball too, so it takes a little of my free time. I manage the Fans Club alone and I do all I can.

There are two versions of the website (in English and in Spanish) and it has been difficult to update it on these last months... And I could not do it as much as I did it other years ago. I have tried to update as good as possible on Facebook and Twitter, because the followers on these social networks are very numerous.

Again, I am so sorry... Thanks for understanding. You will see the new Fans Club web design so soon!!

Captain Canada has talked after three months. The next 20th December will be the 4th Aniversary of the Fans Club and we have contacted with him to let you all know how Carl English is now in Canada. Will he return soon?

• How do you feel of your clavicle?

I am fully recovered and feeling great..

• How is now Carl English life in Canada?

It is very quiet for me. I'm training twice per day, 5-6 times per week. The rest of time is with my family.

• Why did not you join any team this Summer? It is so strange to see the best scorer of the last season in Liga Endesa without team...

It has been a long summer and start of the season for me. It is the first time in 15 years to not be with a team, collage or pro... And it is very strange and difficult at times. But I feel I am at a very high level and want to play on one of the best teams in Europe. so that's why I am waiting for the right job... Especially after the great season last year, so I hope it soon comes looking for me.

• This 20th December will be the 4th aniversary of the Fans Club. For that reason, I would like to ask you about some things of your career. Here, I want you to answer these words with one word or phrase, it is up you! But it needs to be the first thing that comes to your mind...

- Hawaii: Amazing, fun and special.

- Draft: Disappointing.

- National team: It is a dream playing for your country.

- Zadar: Beautiful and passionate.

- Bolonia: Interesting

• How would you sum up these last six years in ACB? Which are your best memories there?

I could write a book of my last six years in Spain. But for me, the first thing that comes is amazing people, country and fans! Very high level of basketball and family culture.

• How can you describe you as a player? What do you think you need to improve?

As a player I am very passionated, determined, and a winner... Hard-worker and fighter... Things to improve are speed on defence, floater shots and range.

• What means for you to have a Fans Club?

The Fans Club gives me a lot of support and shares a lot of my info, photos and games with my family around the world. It is great...

• The last question but the most important of them... Will your fans see you soon on the courts?

Carl will maybe lose the rest of the season. The injury does not seems good. So, we all need to show him all our support. And... How? This is our idea:

It would be a video. You would need to say "I am also Captain Canada" and point at your shoulder. You can add details in the shoulder (it's the right one). But I let you that with your creativity.

Defense to win, English to smash

There is two Asefa Estudiantes this year. The one squad of the doubting and dependence, and the one of exhibitions. The ten thousand attendance of this Saturday evening had a bit of the two. That is going to be enough for some games, like today's agains Blusens Monbus.

CLUBESTUDIANTES.COM.- Visitors Blusens Monbus had the grip of the game while the shooting efficiency was high enough. The cold of the day got inside the shorts of local players and froze the ideas to a distastrous first ten minutes. Nevertheless, a confortable 10-0 start due to Carl English promising start. Blusens knew there is one weak point at Estudiantes defensive balance: the corners and sides of forwards' defense. This is going to be critical against playoff teams although not today. Corbacho, Bufford and Luz brought the doubts and shiver to the crowd. For more than two quarters there was little to mention but five strong scorers. Though, the fear at the local side caused by only English and Gabriel finding the way. 20-23 and Txus Vidorreta had to stop it.

Who said emotion and humble were away from the spectators? A fighting Lamont Barnes was squeezed to create confusion at the paint. It was Carl English again the one responsible to match the second quarter nightmare but...

BIN LADEN LIQUOR STORE SHOOTOUT CARNAGE
Who remembers the online shooting game where you could bash Bin Laden's liquor store? It looked like Corbacho had entered a password to massacre local basket. No matter the corner, he always found one extra metre away from his defender.

Two games on three Asefa Estudiantes had conceaded too many 3-point shots. After a mere 40 point scoring Blusens Monbus had already clutched eight. One could see faces of desperation at local aficionados.

Second half began and somebody decided to rewrite the plot.

A technical fould to visitor (and declared Asefa Estudiantes fan) coach Moncho Fernández gave a weird two-and-ball start for Asefa Estudiantes. The script also said one of the two metal rings had gone narrower. And Blusens stopped that extenuating efficiency at the 6.75 line.

Granger and Germán Gabriel pushed to a +6 for locals albeit the last Galician reaction. Corbacho (6/12 39 for a total 21p) and Hummel (9 rebs) sustained the breath for the very last part. And then someone at the upper seats said 'Hey look, did any of you realised the quintet now?'

For a pretty first time of the evening, the school kids were on the cloak and dagger: Granger, Clark, Nogueira screwed the bolts to the visitor decaying defense. English connected to Bebé Nogueira (will we enjoy his game for long?) and a roar of satisfaction flooded the court.

Kirksay, Gabriel and Captain Canada got the flowery disguise and started a 32 point scoring quarter. Granger opened ip the can. Three pointer from well beyond the line. Although Hummel wanted to show a sort of reaction, it came minute 36. English gets a 2+1. Corbacho fails at the shooting lottery and the ball goes again to English. Bingo. And again and again to finish with a probable MVP.

Despite the fact that only six men scored, Carl English figures were an outstanding 20/26 shooting, 9/9 af FT, 6/11 from the outside arch, 6 rebs and 7 fouls received for a 39 point career-high and a value league 43 total. Will you miss next week chapter of old day's battle against the rich boys?

And a cheeks for free. A sour MVP for Carl English at game 9. Carl's MVP came after a 30 point and a total 33 league value. His efficiency, 3/6 at 2p, 5/7 at 3p and 9/10 FT, including 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 7 fouls received versus Manresa. It all makes a shared MVP against the other rough guys of the League. Only Marcelinho Huertas matched his figures although he calls it deception.

CLUBESTUDIANTES.COM.- ”I have done what I could do to help the team, it doesn't matter at all because we lost”. Statistically speaking Carl English had the best figures although Captain Canada pointed out the fact that one's scoring mood did not help the rest of the team to avoid defeat.

So it means "we all loose". English lessons: Assignia Manresa hadn't had a win along the season but they were amazing today, a very hard court to win in. The team had problems at defending, the swaps and the one on one, so Manresa took it for granted. We know the result today. Asefa Estudiantes will start working towards the best possible outcome. Two games as local against Blusens Monbus and arch-enemies Real Madrid CF.

CARL MADE IT AT THE LEAGUE QUINTET TOO
After Tariq Kirksay's one-two at the ideal quintet of Liga Endesa during games 1 - 2, Carl English's enthousiasm against Manresa rewarded him at the golden five. The rest of the squad, where commitment, efficiency and other team values are prized is Marcelinho Huertas, Andrés Rodríguez, Kostas Vasileiadis and Nacho Martín.

Got caught in the shooting (98-89)

This time Asefa Estudiantes had a meagre prize. The MVP of game 9 by Carl English did not hide the defeat at Manresa court. Since 1992 our team has only defeated locals six times. The very matchbox was a festival for Assignia Manresa's outside shooters. Coach Jaume Ponsarnau sent every single small player to try the 6.75 line. Then one, then two, a league record eighteen three pointers was scored to grab a first league local win (1-8 at the standings).

CLUBESTUDIANTES.COM.- In such an offensive game, Carl English (30 pt) had to be the man. From the start everything went downhill for both teams. Manresa started to gain a +5 difference although Kirksay adn English maintained a promising quarter balance (22-23)

Then it went mad.

Adam Hanga (4/6 at three-pointers) and Aleksander Yanev (3/3) started to score from very impossible position and distance. Nevertheless Estudiantes kept the pace with a solid work facing the basket. An aggregate 47pt at halftime was much more than afforded in previous games. The question was 'who is going to stop this craze?'

Kyle Kuric and Kirksay responded as if they were playing Asefa Estu their entire lives. De Vries was scoring (5/10 at 3p) and neutralising Carl English's outstanding evening. Hanga and Ramsdell started to fire, then. The latter also signed a 100% (4/4) from the court outside limits.

Some talk about Manresa's jynx. In 20 years of basketball Asefa Estudiantes has only won six times. Whatever it takes to grab a game victory at the Nou Congost arena, we did not have it Sunday night.

By no means, visitors had no clue of how to stop the efficiency from the long distance. It was another of this season's days. In nine games Estudiantes has lost more than one game against long distance shooters (as against CAI Zaragoza). Txus Vidorreta tried to stop the bleeding with 63-54. But a record-breaking Manresa had De Vries and Salva Arco and, let's face it, almost every player from the local side shooted from the 6.75. Ponsarnau tactics, albeit suicidal (who told Asselin he can face a three-pointer?) did work. A 62% of efficiency over 29 shots was simply too much.

Asefa Estudiantes remains at playoff positions (5-4) and the local squad gets involved into guerrillas (1-8). Pre-season is over, kids. Just consider it. We are in the middle of the winter turmoil.
