Ashley Justice’s Pregnancy Session…

Ashleigh is one of my best friends and I was so excited to photograph her beautiful belly! For those of you that know me, I am obsessed with “the bump!” I think it is one of the most amazing miracles in life! The idea that a human being is growing and living inside of you for 10 months just blows my mind.

Ashleigh just recently gave birth to Mr. Cruz and those images are soon to come! Her portraits were photographed inside and around our Charleston studio.

Tashauna Jackson Bridal Portraits…

Tashauna was recently married in Florence, SC. I was not able to photograph her wedding, but I was able to capture her bridal session. She came down to Charleston for the session accompanied by 6 family members! It was a first for me to have that many people there, but they made her laugh and smile the entire time. For as hot as it was that day, she never showed it! Tashauna and her family were a joy to work with! Good luck in Florida Tashauna!

Mark and Ashley Tied the Knot…

Mark Kassouf and Ashley Yount tied the knot on May 1, 2010 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. The couple was married by Mark’s father, which made the ceremony that much more memorable and emotional. The service was followed by a reception at the always beautiful Pine Lakes Country Club. One of my absolute favorite details was when I saw that all of Mark’s groomsmen were wearing black and white Chuck Taylor’s! Before the ceremony, Mark even gave his dad a pair and he actually wore them under his robe while marrying them. It’s always a relief to me when the couple and the bridal party are excited to take pictures! When everyone is involved and excited like they were, it shows through in their final images!!

You guys make a beautiful couple! Thank you for allowing me to be there with you!!

Chad’s Growing Fast…

Mr. Chad is one of my precious babies on our First Year Baby Plan. This means that his family gets a portrait session every 3 months for his first year. This is so much fun for me and allows me time to really get to know each family. This was Chad’s third shoot. It is always amazing to me how much each child changes. I have learned how important their entire first year is and how blessed I am to be able to document it for the family. Here are a few of my favorites…

Lindsay Mitchell & John Marks’ Engagement…

Lindsay and John are to be married on July 9, 2011. They chose to have their engagement session in historic Charleston, SC. Downtown Charleston is one of those places where you can turn any corner and find a beautiful portrait spot. Because of this, I try to find new places to shoot. This month has been hard. I seem to have found two or three new locations and want to go there each time (so you might notice a couple of the same locations in the next few shoots ).

I look forward to working more with you both and hearing all of the fun details about your wedding. It will be here before you know it!!

Dena Forbes-Evan McMullen Wedding…

Dena has been a friend of mine since high school and it was such an honor to photograph one of the most memorable days in her life! The two were married on April 24, 2010 at her parent’s home in Socastee, SC. It started off as a somewhat overcast day and quickly moved to rainy! If Dena was stressed, you couldn’t tell. She seemed so calm and focused on the fact that she was about to marry her soul mate. Evan is such an amazing man and absolutely adores Dena. I am so happy for the two of you and wish you many years together!

Andrea Crook’s Beautiful Belly…

Andrea has remained gorgeous for her entire pregnancy! She is a fitness trainer and we met while I was attending her spin class at the gym. She was such an inspiration to us all. When we felt like quitting or slowing down, she would pump us all back and cycle even faster! Well when your watching someone with a huge pregnant belly cycle faster than you, then you absolutely know you have to go faster! On the day we did our shoot, super woman herself, taught spin class, was at our shoot by noon, taught another class that night, and checked into the hospital the next morning to give birth!! Talk about amazing. Andrea, you are my inspiration to always stay fit!

Madeline and Joe Tie The Knot…

Madeline Ortiz and Joe Rich were married at Litchfield Golf Club in Litchfield Beach, SC. A gorgeous and sunny day for a wedding, April 10, 2010 the couple wed under the oaks. We couldn’t have ordered everything more perfect!

Madeline’s favorite part “was when Joe and I were introduced as husband and wife. It was happiness and a feeling of “yes now we can go and have fun”… all the stress I felt just melted away.”

“The reason we chose to go with Carmen Ash Photography for our photos was quite simple; we liked her portfolio. We liked that her photos had a natural and un-staged look, if that makes sense. Paige Bird’s Pregnancy Session…

Paige & Rob Bird are preparing for their first baby girl. She is due around June 14, and the first time parents are very excited and not to mention completely prepared! A few years ago, I shot their wedding in Myrtle beach, SC. It is such an awesome feeling when I get to see that same couple start a family together; especially two people like Paige and Rob. They are two of the most down to earth, sweet, and honest people! I can’t wait to meet their new little girl….the name is a surprise!

Jilian and Robert Tie the Knot…

Jilian Rinehart and Robert Sansbury were married on March 6, 2010 at Debordieu Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC. I have known Jilian since college and was thrilled when she asked me to shoot her wedding! This couple has become a familiar face on our blog, since we shot their engagement session and Jilian’s bridal portraits. (Make sure to check out those pictures in previous blog posts!)

Every detail of their wedding was filled with style, elegance and class. From their beautiful flowers and cake, to the candy stations, right down to Jilian’s shoes! Though the weather was a little chilly, everyone had a great time at the wedding and taking pictures! It actually made for some cute shots because the bridesmaids were all wearing the groomsman’s coats and the grooms were holding their flowers! We captured some amazing images and I am so thankful to have been apart of their wedding day! Thank you Jilian and Robert!

My assistant, Robbie, was given a disposable camera to use by the bride’s grandmother! Robbie, being the sweet guy that he is, made it a point to back up many of the shots that he was taking with the grandmother’s camera! It was too funny! At one point during the ceremony, I looked over and Robbie, looking as professional as possible, was taking a couple pictures with his new camera!
