The Construction information service is a great resource for staff and students wanting up to date technical information accessible from one place. The site has a large collection including building regulations, british standards, health and safety information, reports, legislation and ebooks. A new section recently added covers sustainable building and renewable energies.

You can access the contruction information service from e-resources page on the Library website. It is available both on and off campus. To access off campus choose the ‘Athens/UK Federation users’ option and enter your Carnegie College network login. Watch our video guide on logging in.

New e-resources section on Library Website

We have changed the layout of the e-resources page on the Library Website. We wanted to improve the look of the page and make it easier to use. All our e-resources are now listed alphabetically and we have new icons to show how to login to each e-resource.

Fines amnesty due to adverse weather

Due to the recent bad weather no fines will be charged or the period 26th November- 21st December 2010.

The last day the college is open before Christmas is 21st December and we reopen on 7th January.

Please remember to renew or return your books before the Christmas break.

Marketline changes to Datamonitor 360

Marketline has a brand new name and interface.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Datamonitor 360. It contains all the same great content as Marketline such as company, industry and country profile through a new clean, easy to use interface.

Find the link to Datamonitor on the e-resources page of the Library website or access it directly at http://360.datamonitor.com/. You need to login using your Carnegie College network username and password.

October break

The Study Zones at Halbeath and Rosyth will be open as normal during the October break.

Free BBC Motion Gallery Trial

The College has a free trial of the BBC Motion Gallery until 10th of June 2010. The BBC Motion Gallery contains video clips from the BBC archives covering all kinds of programming including news, nature documetaries and drama.

The trial can be accessed from any PC on campus at: https://jisc.bbcmotiongallery.com . Just click on ’sign i’n to access. There is not need any login details. Let us know what you think of the BBC Motion Gallery if you try it out. Use the comment feature below or email us at studyzone@carnegiecollege.ac.uk

Opening times for spring break

We have some changes in Study Zone opening hours over the spring break (5th - 16th of April)

Study Zone Halbeath

Early closing at 5pm on Mon 5th of April

Opening at 9am instead of 8:30am from Mon 5th of April to Fri 16th of April

Study Zone Rosyth

Closed for the spring break

Re-0pening Mon 19th of April at 1pm
