• I’d love to hear about the future. I’ve asked Randy, who is going to be carrying the group forward, to talk a little bit about what he has planned for the future. From what I already know, I’m super excited about where the group will be headed and am frankly a bit jealous I won’t be around to participate.

One of our members, Randy Thomason, is also on the board of the landlord association for the state. They have been working on other proposals to try to limit the damage done to landlords by the local judges.

I’ve asked Randy to lead a discussion this month about the new rulings, how they affect us, what the landlord association is attempting to do about it, and how we can help. Of course, there will also be plenty of networking and dealmaking going on as well.

You hear me say a lot in our meetings that “I am not a lawyer.” Well, I decided to bring one in instead. Our topic for this month is the real estate, business, and tax arenas. My father, John Lessel, who has spoken to us before, will be there to answer any legal questions you may have.

If the questions aren’t flowing and there is time remaining, he may also dive into the topics of entity formation (creating a LLC, C-Corp, S-Corp, etc. for your investing activities) or a primer on securities law (so you can legally go out and raise some investing money).
