BUT what if you wanted your wedding cake made EXACTLY for you, only you and JUST FOR YOU? If you are a graphics designer or just know how to create a specific design with a program like Photoshop you can bring it to us and we can apply it to your wedding cake. It will be a one of a kind cake that’s for sure. We were really excited to learn we could do this with the Cricut Cake. So sit down at your computer for a minute play around create a design that is something that will fit YOUR personality and bring it to us when you come for a consultation. Even if it is something as simple as a monogram or something like the design on the photo above. It would be fun to add your personality to your wedding cake.

Well this was a super duper, incredibly cute birthday cake! The birthday theme was “It’s a Jungle Out There” so we went a little crazy with the jungle animals!  They were so cute, who wouldn’t put monkeys all over a cake when they look like that! ? Thumbs up tp Provo  Craft for all of their cartridges! There are some adorable images to choose from :0)

I am excited put it out there that when you come to us you can come for anything… NOT just a Wedding Cake but any type of Special Occasion Cakes. It is really fun to know that “sky’s the limit” when you want to surprise someone with a great CAKE!

It turned out really cute, we got to pick out the colors and design for the whole thing. So really what that means is we had a group of women looking through all of the cartridges and “playing” to see what would look best together! It’s so much fun, I believe this is a 9″ round cake it was covered with pale yellow fondant and adorned with red and blue “boy” designs. The inside of the cake was an absolutely delicious Raspberry Swirl! YUMMY!

I would like to post a couple of cakes this week that we have made with the Cricut Cake Machine. I hope by now everyone knows what that is but for those who don’t here is a link to the Provo Craft website that will show you what Cricut Cake can do. Click here…

Anyhow, with the Cricut Cake you can literally do anything that you would on a scrapbook page! It has made several of our cakes look more 3D. And given us a new look and new style to “play” with. Keep watching this week for the other examples of the cakes we have done recently.

Quyen & BJ’s fabulous day concludes with a kick-ass party, dinner for 190 guests at the world-famous La Caille Restaurant, and dancing until dawn with a Club DJ from Seattle.

IT ROCKED.

Colby Su of C3 Design and Sean Oviatt of Sax Romney Floral were the first to be called in to transform the space into Quyen’s vision of the day.

They made these massive lanterns constructed with bamboo and then hung them throughout the Grand Pavilion.  Centerpieces and table decor were kept to a minimum since all the guests would be served family style and the room was needed to hold the platters of food coming in!

Sean from Sax Romney also designed and constructed this custom seating chart holder, also out of bamboo.  This way guests upon entering the Pavilion, were easily able to find their name and which table they were assigned to sit at.

Each place setting was accompanied with chopsticks for the custom menu La Caille served that night.  I was surprised because La Caille is so famous for its classical French cooking, but in speaking with the chef I was told that although they do specialize in French cooking, they are accomplished chefs and can adapt the menu to the bride’s needs.  Quyen wanted Asian cuisine, so that is what he guests received!

Colby Su of C3 Design and Sean Oviatt of Sax Romney Floral were the first to be called in to transform the space into Quyen’s vision of the day.

They made these massive lanterns constructed with bamboo and then hung them throughout the Grand Pavilion.  Centerpieces and table decor were kept to a minimum since all the guests would be served family style and the room was needed to hold the platters of food coming in!

Sean from Sax Romney also designed and constructed this custom seating chart holder, also out of bamboo.  This way guests upon entering the Pavilion, were easily able to find their name and which table they were assigned to sit at.

Each place setting was accompanied with chopsticks for the custom menu La Caille served that night.  I was surprised because La Caille is so famous for its classical French cooking, but in speaking with the chef I was told that although they do specialize in French cooking, they are accomplished chefs and can adapt the menu to the bride’s needs.  Quyen wanted Asian cuisine, so that is what he guests received!

This bride was Porscha, she came to us and wanted a center piece cake for every table. It turned out absolutely WONDERFULL.

Each cake was made with white fondant but they each had a different pattern on them. And a super delicious flavor!  BUT to top them off she adorned the top of the cake with symbols for different words like Love, Cherish and Joy. And then each person knew which table to sit at based on the symbol… VERY cute idea.

Notice that everything in the room is white except the flowers! That really makes the BEAUTIFUL flowers stand out so much! Every Blooming Thing did a great job at making the bouquets and floral displays POP!

To some brides/grooms that’s not a good thing, they want their cake to be original and made just for them, I completely get that.

However A LOT of our brides want something fun and trendy, that’s where this one steps in. We named it our Ryanne Cake. It is a 3 tier square X-deep white fondant and Chocolate swirls. The best part is the Chocolate Calla Lilies. Pretty and delicious! LOL….. OH but you can’t forget the extra sides cakes. So for an idea of a popular cake this is definitely a GOOD one. Change the colors around to fit your wedding and you set to go!

This is one of the cakes we did last month. Latest and GREATEST! It was so  cute I can’t stand it. Everything about it was fun and fresh. We started with a three tier cake covered in white fondant and then added the most adorable flowers and buttons in Yellow and Tiffany Blue. I don’t even know how the bride cut into it, it was SEW CUTE!!

 Every year Carrie gets invited to a Halloween party at the home of Photographer Pepper Nix. Her long time and encouraging friend. You have probably noticed a lot of the photos on our BLOG have been given to us by Pepper and we can’t thank her enough for all the help.

Funny thing though, the photo of the Halloween cake Carrie made for Pepper’s Party this year was actually taken by Logan of Zuma Photo. GREAT PIC LOGAN!

Anyway I just thought I would share the photo so you can see how fun you can make Cake Decorating! Carrie wanted the cake to be a BIG SURPRISE so she thought up the design and away she went..

Many of you have seen Carrie’s HSN debut withthe Cricut Cake. First I would like to say even though it was stressful preparing for such a BIG event it (AND lets not forget MANY MANY MAN HOURS!) was a VERY NEW experience and Carrie enjoyed seeing “how it all goes down.”

There has been some controversy about the Cricut and the rules and regulations surrounding it, I personally am not prepared to go into all of that, (Carrie will be able to address that) however I would love to show off the beautiful cakes that have been created using the Cricut Cake.  All of these cakes were made specifically for the HSN project by Carrie’s Cakes and our AWESOME employees :0)

Honestly HOW CUTE are these little cupcakes!?! I love how adorable they turned out, and how cute they looked along with the Valentine Cake (see below)…

And it was obvious what was on the mind of this cakes creator! SPRING! The Cricut Cake made it easy to create a bright and whimsical cake for the Easter Season. (see below)

This cake makes me soooo jealous for you ladies n gents that have little girls! Having 3 little boys means NO sweet princess cakes for me. (see below)

Monogram cupcakes have been big this year so it was fantastic to get to make this monogram cupcake. It can be made in any color or font… HOW FUN!

Once again I’M JEALOUS! I need a little girl, this little “shower cake” is so sweet it makes you wanna diaper it! OK J/K nothing can make me WANT to do that! HA!

Ahhhhhh here we go more of what I am used to BOYS BOYS BOYS… I love the way they chose to make this out of bright colors instead of just blue and white and what a CUTE ELEPHANT! (see below)

My darling Miss Carrie herself. Star of the show (he he he) I love her, doesn’t she look so cute getting everything all ready for the air!

And last but not least everyone’s favorite of the bunch… Black n’ White Damask… Super trendy, SOOO elegant!

 So thats what we have been up to last month, lets see what nest month will bring!
