VinFast has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with State Bank of India (SBI), the nation’s largest bank, to provide retail car financing through its exclusive dealer network, ahead of the company’s highly anticipated launch.

This sleek and seamless upper body contrasts with the robust lower body. The QX65 Monograph is finished in a stunning, color-shifting satin paint called Twilight. Initially appearing reddish-purple, the colors soon give way to shimmering gold as the light plays upon the concept's surface. These unexpected flashes of color are courtesy of a highly precise, multi-layer paint process, giving the QX65 Monograph its rich, warm feel.

Elsewhere on the concept, Twilight contrasts beautifully with gloss black details on the roof rails and wheels, as well as artfully chosen bronze accents for the "spear" that outlines the dramatic arch of the roofline and the grille.

The straight-ahead view of the QX65 Monograph immediately projects sportiness and aggression. Its grille, like other Infiniti models, was crafted to resemble Japan's bamboo forests. Yet for the sportback SUV form factor, designers gave the grille a wilder, stirring texture that resembles those same forests agitated during a storm. The layering of the grille, replete with the three-dimensional Infiniti emblem, signals the unapologetic and invigorating nature of the QX65.

Headlining the grille is extended digital piano key lighting, wrapping nearly the full width of the concept's nose. Porsche customer teams can rely on optimized 911 GT3 R from 2026

Porsche is set to launch a further refined version of the successful 911 GT3 R for the 2026 season. The new GT3 race car incorporates a range of detailed optimisations, including reworked aerodynamics.

Since its debut at the start of 2023, the current 911 GT3 R has built an impressive track record, with numerous victories and titles from more than 500 race starts worldwide. In the past season alone, customer teams secured the unofficial GT3 World Championship for manufacturers in the Intercontinental GT Challenge and claimed first place in all three GTD Pro classifications of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

In the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), the current GT3 R - of which Porsche Motorsport has delivered 106 units to customer teams to date - took the chequered flag first in six of the eight races on the legendary Nordschleife. The car also won the inaugural Endurance Trophy for LMGT3 teams and drivers in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), including a class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, triumphing over eight rival sports car manufacturers. Chassis and aerodynamics optimisations

The most striking visual feature of the new 911 GT3 R is the addition of ventiducts on the upper side of the front wheel arches. These so-called “louvres” significantly contribute to improved aerodynamics. Coupled with the optimised kinematics of the double wishbone front suspension, which provides an anti-dive effect by enhancing force resistance, the louvres help to counteract front-end compression during deceleration, thereby maintaining aerodynamic balance. This reduces the tendency of the car to tilt forward during braking, also known as pitch sensitivity. As a result, the new 911 GT3 R offers more precise and predictable braking behaviour, improving overall control.

JLR makes industry first commitment to introduce tyres made from renewable materials

JLR will be the first in the industry to introduce newly developed tyres containing more than 70% renewable and recycled materials such as silica from rice husks and plant‑based resins, at scale.

Combining materials with reduced environmental impact without compromise on quality and performance standards for its clients, the new tyres will be available this year as standard on select new Range Rover models where a 22-inch wheel is specified, ahead of a wider roll‑out and aim to expand across its other brands.

Developed with global tyre manufacturer Pirelli specifically for JLR, the new P Zero tyre contains silica, used to enhance wet performance in tyres, sourced from rice husks, a natural by‑product of rice milling. Fossil‑based polymers and resins, used to help optimise the balance between dry and wet performance, have been replaced with plant‑based alternatives such as agricultural by‑products or used cooking oils.

The tyres also contain recycled materials, reducing reliance on primary source material to help alleviate resource consumption. Carbon black, a crucial filler in rubber compounds used to improve stability, strength, and durability, is recovered from end‑of‑life tyres and recycled steel is used to enhance handling and stability.

Bio‑based and recycled materials are generally more sustainable to obtain, more energy efficient to process, and easier to manage at end‑of‑life than virgin and fossil‑based materials such as synthetic polymers and silica obtained from conventional materials such as quartz sand, yet perform as well, combining environmental responsibility and high‑performance design.

The new P Zero tyre also contains FSC ‑ certified natural rubber and is a result of JLR’s on‑going collaboration with Pirelli. In another global first last year, JLR committed to roll‑out FSC‑certified natural rubber tyres across its portfolio, to help ensure responsible management of natural rubber in its supply chain. Similarly, all bio and recycled materials used will be third party certified to verify quantity and quality. The two companies have a shared vision to increase the use of recycled and bio‑based materials in their products, with an ambition to reach 100% for tyres in the future.

Aston Martin has announced the arrival of the new Vantage S - the most performance focused Vantage in Aston Martin's sports car range. With the already thrilling, driver-focused Vantage firmly established as the class leading front-engine sports car, the Vantage S builds on its position with increased power and even greater dynamic prowess. Together with distinctive exterior and interior enhancements, Vantage S establishes a new benchmark for Aston Martin's acclaimed front-engine sports car range.

Subsequent to the recently launched DBX S, the Vantage S is the next step in the revival of Aston Martin's long tradition of applying the 'S' suffix to special, high-performance derivatives of core models. A convention that began with Vanquish S which made its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in 2004, followed by the exceptional V8 and V12 Vantage S models launched in 2011 and 2013 respectively.

Central to the Vantage S is an upgraded version of the formidable Aston Martin 4.0-litre V8 Twin-Turbo engine. Extending Aston Martin's performance advantage in the front-engine luxury sports car sector, the Vantage S now boasts 680 PS at 6,000 rpm, with peak torque of 800 Nm delivered between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm for immediate in-gear response.

Further enhancing driver engagement and performance feel, Aston Martin engineers have continued to refine and calibrate the throttle pedal weight and response aligned with 'S' characteristics. By offering a resistance matched to a drive-by-wire throttle map bespoke to 'S', and tuned for each of the Drive Modes, the Vantage S delivers an even greater sense of connection with all controls working in harmony.

Calibration changes have also been made to the powertrain, with optimisation of the Launch Control system resulting in a 0.1 second improvement in 0-60 mph time, which is now just 3.3 seconds (0-62 mph 3.4 seconds) and 0-124 mph (200 km/h) in 10.1 seconds. Top speed remains unchanged at a blistering 202 mph.

The Vantage S also benefits from an extensive suite of detail changes to the new Vantage suspension hardware, powertrain mounts and control software to bring greater agility along with improvements in feel, driver engagement and composure.

While Aston Martin's chassis engineers were determined to extract more agility and front-end grip from the Vantage platform, they were also focused on ensuring those advances didn't come at the expense of compliance and refinement.

Hardware tuning and software calibration changes to the Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers have brought increased front-end feel and response, while rear spring aid stiffness has been reduced to balance compression and rebound for improved low speed ride quality. A 10% reduction in transmission mount stiffness brings in additional refinement by controlling the powertrain movement to the body and chassis, allowing the vehicle to breathe in harmony with the road.

Further gains in directness and steering connection have been achieved by directly mounting the rear subframe to the body instead of rubber bushes. Finally, to maximise the compound benefits of these hardware and software changes, the suspension's camber, toe and caster settings have been finessed to sharpen response, improve front-end grip under high lateral loadings and precisely dial-in the overall dynamic balance. The result is a car which has a thrilling appetite for corners backed up by steadfast stability.

Visually, the Vantage S has the looks to match its performance prowess thanks to distinctive features that combine immaculate design form with true performance-enhancing function.

At the front, the new Vantage S is identified by new centrally mounted bonnet blades. Finished in gloss black or 2x2 Twill Carbon Fibre, not only do these vents provide a more assertive design character but they optimise the extraction of hot air from the 'hot-V' configured V8 engine.

Model designation is restricted to discreet yet striking 'S' signature badging on the front fenders. Each one hand-made, the brass forged 'S' is a true piece of automotive jewellery; the 'S 'infilled in red glass enamel with the badge surround chrome plated in either bright or dark chrome to match the colour of the Aston Martin wings specified by the customer.

Ensuring the Vantage S is as instantly recognisable from the rear as the front, a full width decklid spoiler is the most explicit indicator of the marques sharpened performance focus. Not only for visual design assertiveness, the new rear spoiler increases rear downforce by 44kg at Vmax, contributing significantly to the overall 111kg of downforce at Vmax. The new spoiler has been used to tune the aerodynamics of the Vantage S, adding stability while ensuring the overall balance of downforce is biased towards the front-end to generate exceptional turn-in response and sustain a high level of cornering grip. Further updates to the underbody make up the additional 67kg of downforce at Vmax, including the addition of a new front airdam and front venturi vanes.

The Vantage S is also available to specify with a bespoke 21-inch Y-spoke wheel in satin black with a red wheel graphic, continuing to tie in the red detailing synonymous with the 'S' marque, elegantly paired with a contrasting bronze painted brake calliper.

The Vantage S continues with bespoke 'S' cues inside the car, with a unique Alcantara and leather 'Accelerate' interior as standard with satin 2x2 twill carbon fibre trim inlays. Maximising its sporting appearance and offering a modest weight saving over Vantage, this interior perfectly captures the essence of 'S'.

Just as the exterior badging embodies handmade craftsmanship, the interior of the Vantage S is proudly adorned with colour matched, embroidered 'S' logos to the upper shoulder panel of the seats. With almost 2,500 individual stitches and over 16 metres of thread, each 'S' leaves no doubt to the commitment of total luxury and performance in every Aston Martin S model.

Complementing the 'S' suffix, the iconic Aston Martin wings are also embroidered onto the headrests. An industry-first technique using both embossing and debossing is also an option available to customers, applying extreme pressure (1.5 tonnes) and heat to sculpt the wings into the leather with impeccable precision, creating a subtle but beautiful detail. In addition, the 'S' moniker appears on both the treadplates and engine bay final inspection plaque.

Porsche is offering a special series of "Black Edition" Taycan and Cayenne models enhanced with black accents. In addition to their special exterior and interior appearances, these special-edition models feature many high-quality equipment details. The Taycan also offers the added advantage of a longer range thanks to a larger battery.

The Taycan Black Edition is available as a sports sedan and Sport Turismo. The Cayenne Black Edition is available in classic SUV form or as an elegant SUV coupe. There are also several drive options to choose from. Deliveries will start in the second half of the year.

Rolls-Royce presented a one-of-one Phantom Dentelle, commissioned by a Middle Eastern client as a gift for their father. This deeply personal project was curated through the marque’s Private Office Dubai.

The inspiration for this subtle and elegant commission was a piece of couture lace. The fabric - delicate lace crafted using a rare ‘Leavers loom’ - featured three-dimensional floral elements and soft pearl-like details. Its intricate textures and gentle palette formed the creative foundation for both the interior and exterior treatment.

Unique to the Phantom, the Gallery runs the full width of the motor car’s fascia and is specifically designed to display a Bespoke artwork. For this one-of-one Phantom, Bespoke designers created a floral composition inspired by couture lace. The embroidery layers multiple stitch techniques, thread densities and tonal blends - including Rose Gold, Sunrise and Oatmeal - to evoke the textures of petals, ferns and lacework.

A filigree lace-like base is formed using a triple-run stitch, creating a fine mesh structure. Over this, satin stitch shapes the floral elements with a soft, silk-like sheen, while raised accents echo the original pearl details, catching the light with subtle depth. In total, the piece comprises more than 160,000 stitches.

The Waterfall section between the rear seats continues the floral theme with a delicate embroidery echoing the botanical detail in the Gallery design and comprising around 70,000 stitches. The speaker grilles are finished in Rose Gold, subtly complementing the embroidery tones.

The interior is completed with Sunrise and Grace White leathers, embroidered ‘RR’ monograms on the front and rear headrests, and Piano White veneer.

The Phantom Dentelle’s exterior is presented in a two-tone Bespoke finish. The lower body is finished in Crystal over Arctic White; the upper body in Crystal over Palais Nemasker Dawn - a colour reserved for the commissioning client’s exclusive use. The double coachline, rendered in Sunrise, resolves with a hand-painted motif depicting a leafy branch with pearl ‘berries’, reflecting the artwork theme inside.

The car rides on 22-inch Fully Polished Disc wheels with body-coloured centres and Arctic White centre pinstripes. The polished Pantheon Grille is crowned with the Spirit of Ecstasy in Rose Gold; the same precious metal is used for the Bespoke engraved treadplates.

The Phantom Dentelle was personally commissioned by the client through Rolls-Royce Private Office Dubai. This invitation-only space brings the Home of Rolls-Royce to clients across the region.

The Taycan Turbo GT success story continues with two more lap records. The flagship model set new records as the fastest series-production electric car on the Road Atlanta circuit in the US state of Georgia and on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

The Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package has set two new lap records for series-production electric cars - at Road Atlanta (US) and at the Yas Marina Circuit (UAE). Patrick Long completed an exceptionally fast lap in just 1:27.1 minutes on the 4.088-km Road Atlanta circuit. This new lap time beats the record set by the Taycan Turbo S in 2020 (1:33.8 minutes) by more than six seconds. “I expected precise steering, but I didn't realise how perfectly the Porsche Active Ride system would compensate for the car’s body motion,” said the professional racing driver and brand ambassador for Porsche Cars North America after his record-breaking drive.

The time was set during changeable weather conditions while, with an ambient temperature of about 24 degrees Celsius, the track with some damp patches was still drying out.

In contrast, the record-breaking run at the Yas Marina Circuit took place during the night, due to the extremely high daytime temperatures. UAE-based GT race driver and race school instructor Ramez Azzam lapped the 5.281-km Formula 1 circuit in just 2:07.2 minutes, only 1.1 seconds off the touring car lap record. This new record is officially recognised by the Emirates Motorsport Association (EMSO) as the fasted production BEV around Yas Marina’s full GP circuit.

“Electric cars are known for being fast on the straights, but the Taycan Turbo GT shows its true strength over a full lap,” says Azzam, who won the GT4 class at this year’s Dubai 24 Hours sportscar endurance event. “The agile, perfectly balanced Porsche suspension and brakes gave me the confidence I needed to give it my all.” During his record-breaking drive, the Taycan's instrument cluster showed an ambient temperature of almost 28 degrees Celsius.

The two records at Road Atlanta and Yas Marina Circuit continue a string of similar achievements for the Taycan Turbo GT, which is the most powerful production Porsche ever. Recently, in February 2025, Felipe Nasr lapped the Interlagos F1 Circuit in São Paulo in just 1:42.1 minutes. The three-time IMSA champion and three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona thereby set a new record for electric cars. Porsche development driver Lars Kern also set a blistering pace in the range-topping Taycan. In October 2024, he set the first officially recognised lap record at the Shanghai International Circuit, with a time of 2:11.2 minutes.

In spring 2024, Kern had already enjoyed success at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. With a time of 1:27.8 minutes, he completed a lap faster than any other driver has managed in a road-legal electric car. Shortly before that, a pre-production version of the Taycan Turbo GT had set a new class record at the Nürburgring. Lars Kern was also behind the wheel on that occasion and posted a lap time of just 7:07.5 minutes on the Nordschleife. This was a whopping 26 seconds faster than Kern recorded for his last record lap in a Taycan Turbo S sports sedan equipped with the Performance Package back in August 2022.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important in vehicle development. It has become an indispensable tool, especially for complex systems in a network, such as the battery-electric energy storage system.

The increasing number of highly developed sensors provides a volume of data that could no longer be processed with conventional software. For Porsche, using machine learning and AI for data analysis is helpful for understanding huge amounts of information and varying contexts. Using these tools helps to provide reliable insights into component behaviour and interaction.

AI in battery development

A high-voltage battery is a complex system that is exposed to a wide range of external and internal influences. These influences are made visible by Porsche’s engineers through data analysis and the use of AI in connection with the effects on the energy system. The knowledge gained in this way is an essential basis for developing ever-better components and systems for Porsche customers.

AI supports developers in particular in detecting implausible behaviour within a battery. This allows the algorithms to analyse the balancing behaviour of individual cells and the entire battery as early as the development stage. Balancing refers to the charge balance between the cells of a battery module. If the values deviate from the expected state, the data allows faster conclusions to be drawn about the causes and underlying processes. At the same time, the data quality in the development process is improved, so that later findings from customer vehicles are even more reliable.

In addition to the known main drivers of battery ageing, modern analysis methods can also be used to identify other influences. Through the coupled application of state-of- the-art data-analysis methods and physicochemical models, forecasts and analyses of the ageing of high-voltage batteries in the customer fleet can be created. With the understanding of the various ageing influences on the basis of data analyses, the system developers work on the further optimisation of the operating strategy. All optimisation criteria such as range, charging time, system performance, weight, durability and consumption are worked out.

Nissan receives over 17,000 orders for new N7 sedan in first month of sales

Nissan's joint venture partner in China, Dongfeng Nissan, confirmed that orders for its all-new N7 EV sedan reached 17,215 units in the first month of sales.

Launched on April 27, the all-new N7 is the first of nine new energy vehicles (NEVs) that Nissan plans to launch in China by the summer of 2027. Deliveries in China began on May 15.

The N7 is targeted at young families who place value on not only their own enjoyment but also family time. It’s available with two types of batteries, 58kWh or 73kWh, and has a maximum cruising range of 635km.

The N7 is equipped with an advanced end-to-end driver-assistant system called Navigate on Autopilot that was jointly developed with Momenta, a leader in autonomous driving technology in China. It also features other cutting-edge technologies such as zero-pressure seating featuring an AI-based adaptive posture system that adjusts the seat based on input from individual sensors.

To meet consumers’ diverse needs, the N7 is available in three grades - Max, Pro and Air. The Max and Pro grades offer two types of battery at prices ranging from RMB 119,900 to 149,900 (approximately $17,000 to $21,000).

The superb comfort, brand trust and attainable price of the N7 have been well received, leading to many orders and a new customer base. It’s mainly purchased by young families under the age of 35, 70% of whom are first-time Nissan buyers.

In addition, Dongfeng Nissan is also transforming its NEV sales network to provide customers with more convenient and comfortable purchase and service experiences. In the offline NEV sales network, Dongfeng Nissan has created a channel model that separates order, delivery and after-sales service. It has also already established over 100 NEV-dedicated distribution centers and over 500 order centers across China.

A sixth Porsche Charging Lounge opens in Leonberg near Stuttgart

A new Porsche Charging Lounge is now open in Leonberg, near Stuttgart. Like the five other brand-exclusive fast-charging stations, it offers very high charging performance at up to 400 kW, as well as a relaxed ambience and the central handling of charging costs via the Porsche Charging Service.

The new location offers a charging experience fitting for the Porsche brand, located not far from the Leonberg junction that connects the A8 and A81 autobahns. It is conveniently located for holidaymakers and business travellers in all four directions, and the major cities of Stuttgart and Pforzheim are only about 15 and 25 km away, respectively.

Leonberg’s fast-charging station is the sixth such exclusive location. Four other charging lounges are located in Germany - in Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld near Würzburg, Ingolstadt, and Hamburg - while a fifth is in Koblach, in Austria. All electric Porsche models can be recharged at these around the clock. A total of six DC fast-charging points with up to 400 kW of power are available at the Leonberg site. Fully electric Porsche vehicles can take full advantage of their fast-charging potential: a current-generation Taycan, for example, can go from a 10 to 80 percent state of charge (SoC) in 18 minutes. At 21 minutes, a Macan needs only slightly more time for the same charging process.

Aston Martin DBX S: A new flagship for the supercar of SUVs

Aston Martin has announced the arrival of a new DBX flagship, the DBX S. With the dynamic appeal of the DBX707 and an engine enhanced by technology transferred directly from the forthcoming Valhalla supercar, the DBX S offers one of the most engaging and responsive driving experiences delivering even more power, reduced weight and more assertive design. With a suite of exterior and interior enhancements to match, the DBX S certainly has its own undeniable identity.

The DBX S continues a long tradition of Aston Martin’s utilising the ‘S’ suffix to denote a special, high-performance version of an existing model; the first being Vanquish S which made its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in 2004. The DBX S proves that lighter variants with more power and performance are still very much part of Aston Martin’s core production offering and looks to continue a lineage of notable high performing models.

At the heart of the new DBX S lies an upgraded version of the acclaimed Aston Martin 4.0-litre Twin-Turbo V8 powerhouse. By using turbo technology transferred directly from the upcoming Valhalla supercar including its larger compressor wheel diameters and other internal improvements, power is raised by a further 20 PS to 727 PS and provides even greater urgency at the very top of the rev range, making the DBX S’s performance even more memorable. The result is a 0-62 mph time of just 3.3 seconds and reduction in acceleration time from 0-124 mph (200 km/h) of 0.3 seconds. Top speed remains unchanged at an impressive 193 mph.

Further enhancing both performance and its perception is a modified exhaust system amplifying even more character to the natural voice of the thunderous V8 engine and exploiting the full the opportunity presented by the engine’s turbo enhancements.

As with its DBX707 stablemate, the DBX S distributes its power between the front and rear wheels in variable proportion - including an ability to send 50 percent of its torque to the front and up to 100 percent of its torque to the rear wheels alone - through an innovative 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ transmission, which removes the need for a conventional torque converter, delivering extreme performance on launch from standstill. However, the DBX S gearbox has been further modified to provide an even more memorable driving experience. Change up points are adjusted to reflect the car’s extended rev range, while downshifts in Sport and Sport + modes when the car is in automatic are even more aggressive.

In addition to the power upgrade, a number of measures have been taken not only to significantly reduce the kerb weight of the DBX S, but to do so in an intelligent and highly selective fashion that ensures that mere weight loss is just one of attributes resulting from these actions. A prime example is the new optional carbon fibre roof presented in a glorious single weave pattern which, at almost three metres square, is by far the largest such carbon element ever fitted to an Aston Martin. Specification of the carbon roof sees the removal of the roof rails, and as a combination not only saves 18kg of mass, but does so from the very highest point of the car, reducing its centre of gravity and therefore enhancing both stability and agility further.

Magnesium wheels are also now available as an option for the first time on any car in the SUV segment. Magnesium is not only robust, but an incredibly lightweight material, some 75 percent lighter than steel; half the weight of titanium and a third less even than aluminium. In selecting this 23-inch optional wheel, a further 19kg of unsprung mass is saved, delivering improvements in ride quality, steering precision and feel, as well the car’s more immediate reaction to direction input. The DBX S is also available to order with 23-inch forged aluminium wheels as standard.

Specifying the magnesium wheels also sees the deletion of roof rails, offering a further weight savings. Additionally, customers can also specify a bespoke a lightweight polycarbonate honeycomb grille, intricately designed with over 25,000 individual facets which all helps shift the weight distribution rearward, aiding both handling and the car’s traction capabilities.

Steering ratio on the DBX S is also faster by only 4 percent but noticeably improves agility making the car feel even more sporting and responsive while stopping well short of introducing any sense of nervousness into its handling. It also reduces the turning circle by almost half a metre to just 12.0 metres, improving the urban driving experience.

The DBX S benefits from the full suite of suspension enhancements introduced last year, which saw a revised calibration of both the air springs and electronic dampers, increasing transient body control in order to reduce weight transference and therefore improve primary ride quality and overall stability. Even right at the limit, its standard electronic roll control means the DBX S rolls by no more 1.5 degrees; enough to create the natural feel of the car cornering but still keeping the car flatter than many purpose built, two seat sports cars. The spring rate also changes depending upon selected drive mode, actively moving the roll stiffness balance through a corner to enhance grip and steering response. Near inexhaustible braking performance is provided by mighty carbon ceramic disc brakes at each corner, measuring no less than 420mm at the front and 390mm at the back.

Visually, the Aston Martin design team have ensured that no one who sees the DBX S will be left in any doubt they’re looking at the most sporting, dynamically capable and enthralling ultra-luxury SUV on the market.

From the front, the new DBX S is instantly recognisable by its pure black vaned grille, giving this edition immediate road presence, whilst the lightweight polycarbonate grille with a honeycomb design taking cues from the DBS 770 Ultimate, is also available to specify as an option. A new splitter and diffuser further enhance the car’s naturally assertive presence alongside the distinctive wraparound daytime running light design.

Seen from the side, new sills boast highly distinctive up-turned air splitters which in typical Aston Martin fashion exist for function as much as form, helping channel and direct the airflow along the side of the car. Carbon fibre is available to specify for the wing mirrors, side strakes and lower door sill, while distinctive ‘S’ signature badging on the front fenders marks the true nature of this beast. Like the iconic Aston Martin wings, these badges are manufactured in solid metal, glass enamelled with the ‘S ‘infilled in red as it appeared on previous models such as the V12 Vantage S and Rapide S. The badge surround is then chrome plated in either the bright or dark chrome to match the colour of the wings chosen by the customer.

The most obvious visual changes to the new flagship DBX are at the rear, dominated by quad exhausts now vertically stacked and available in both gloss and matt finishes, giving full voice to the glorious sound of the V8 at maximum attack. The rear bumper and diffuser have been completely reprofiled and, along with the side sills and wing, can be specified with carbon to reduce overall vehicle mass by a further 7kg. The DBX S also showcases a new lower livery design available to specify in 3 colours; Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver and Podium Green. The sporting livery highlights the front splitter, diffuser and side sills continuing to the rear, framing the new stacked quad exhausts.

The interior of the DBX S displays a bespoke ‘S’ theme; the most notable feature being the distinctive herringbone design which comes as standard on the seats, but which is also extended to the headlining if the optional Carbon roof is chosen. The herringbone lines become increasingly wider as they progress up the seat, giving an unmistakeable impression of speed; fitting for the highest performing SUV in the marques range.

The DBX S is trimmed as standard in lightweight sporting Alcantara, which can be seen on the seats, headlining, centre console, lower instrument panels and upper trim. In areas of high wear such as the seat bolsters, the Alcantara is seamlessly blended with semi-aniline leather. For those who prefer an even greater sense of luxury, the DBX S can be trimmed entirely in semi-aniline leather. Red seatbelts can also be specified to bring additional ‘S’ identification inside the car.

The ‘S’ suffix is embroidered onto the seat, complimented by the Aston Martin wings that are emblazoned on the headrests with an industry-first technique using both embossing and debossing with extreme pressure (1.5 tonnes) and heat to sculpt the wings into the leather in sub-millimetre precision and detail. Furthermore the ‘S’ appears on the treadplates and engine plaque to complete the picture.

The DBX S continues the adoption of Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art in-house developed infotainment system with a striking new cabin architecture. This transformative enhancement showcases exemplary deployment of craft and innovation combining immaculate design and indulgent luxury with a formidable suite of connected car technology.

It is also fitted with the Aston Martin Premium Audio 800W 14 speaker audio system as standard. Developed utilising advanced hardware, this system features a surround sound mode with QuantumLogic surround sound processing for a totally immersive soundscape. However, true audio enthusiasts will delight in the optional system developed with Aston Martin’s audio partner, Bowers & Wilkins. Acoustically engineered to the interior volume and shape of the DBX S, this exceptional system uses technologies and innovations found in Bowers & Wilkins acclaimed world-class loudspeakers. Aluminium Double Dome tweeters and Continuum midrange speakers give this 23-speaker, double amplified 1,600W surround sound system a balanced and accurate sound. Dedicated 3D headline speakers, bass speakers and a powerful subwoofer deliver a powerful and dynamic sound experience, reflecting the characteristics of the DBX S itself.

‘S’ has long had an association with Aston Martin, and the DBX S proves that lighter variants with more power and performance are still very much part of the marque’s story, and are set to last into the foreseeable future. The DBX S is available to order now, with deliveries expected in Q4 2025.

VinFast signed $190 million syndicated loan for its plant in Indonesia

VinFast, along with the state-owned Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) and PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank), signed a long-term syndicated loan agreement valued at IDR 1.85 trillion (equivalent to approximately $110 million), along with an additional $80 million accordion facility, to finance the construction of VinFast’s electric vehicle assembly plant in Subang, West Java, Indonesia. This agreement will provide critical long-term funding to support VinFast's global expansion strategy and expand its production capabilities. Furthermore, it underscores VinFast's strong reputation and growth potential to major partners in Indonesia.

Under the terms of the agreement, BNI will be the lead arranger of the financing and will handle the underwriting for the syndicated loan of IDR 1.85 trillion. This loan is intended to finance the construction of PT VinFast Automobile Indonesia's electric vehicle manufacturing plant.

Of the total syndicated loan facility of IDR 1.85 trillion (equivalent to approximately $110 million), BNI will finance IDR 1.51 trillion (equivalent to approximately $90 million), with the remainder to be provided by Maybank. On top of that, the parties will proceed with the additional $80 million extension facility.

Previously, VinFast and BNI executed a memorandum of understanding for collaborative investment, development, and provision of financial solutions to bolster VinFast's green ecosystem in Indonesia. This initiative aims to facilitate a seamless green transition for Indonesian consumers, enabling easier adoption of electric vehicles.

In July 2024, VinFast broke ground on its electric vehicle assembly plant in Subang, with operations planned to commence in the second half of 2025. This strategically positioned facility is projected to become a pivotal manufacturing hub for VinFast's EVs, serving both Indonesian and export markets, while simultaneously bolstering the local automotive industry's supply chain.

Furthermore, VinFast is steadily solidifying its position and expanding its footprint in Indonesia through the launch and delivery of a diverse portfolio of all-electric vehicles, including RHD variant of VF 3, VF 5, and VF e34 models. With a customer-first philosophy, VinFast has chosen LKQ’s established and EV-ready network after a rigorous assessment process, highlighting LKQ’s growing role as a trusted service provider in the EV sector. VinFast customers will initially be supported by nine certified Lease Service Partners (LSPs) starting in May 2025, with access gradually expanding to LKQ’s full network of 260 EV-ready workshops across the Netherlands.

Hyundai has unveiled its next-generation hybrid powertrain system, delivering a new standard for power and efficiency. With this advanced system, the company plans to offer a range of industry leading new products within the hybrid vehicle segment.

The next-generation hybrid system features a new transmission with two integrated motors that can be paired flexibly with a range of internal combustion engines, allowing for optimized performance and fuel efficiency across a range of vehicle classes. Additionally, various electrification-focused technologies have been incorporated into the next-generation hybrid system to enhance driving performance, refinement and ride comfort.

The newly developed transmission includes a new P1 motor that handles starting, battery energy generation and energy deployment to assist propulsion. The transmission’s P2 driving motor is responsible for propulsion and regenerative braking. This integrated dual-motor setup improves power, performance and fuel efficiency while achieving smooth shifting and reduced noise and vibrations for a more refined driving experience.

The transmission can be paired flexibly with internal combustion engines across Hyundai’s lineup, delivering a system output from the low-100 PS range to the mid-300 PS region, allowing for broad application from sub-compact to large vehicles.

Hyundai has employed its extensive experience with hybrid powertrains - and motor and battery control technology accumulated through development of its dedicated, award-winning E-GMP electric vehicle platform - to enhance driving performance and comfort. The new, next-generation hybrid system also integrates convenience features commonly found in the company’s EVs, such as Stay Mode, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and Smart Regenerative Braking.

The first powertrain to use the next-generation hybrid system uses a newly developed gasoline 2.5-litre turbo hybrid unit, enhancing the design and control technology of the existing 2.5 turbo gasoline engine to maximize efficiency. A new, next-generation gasoline 1.6-litre turbo hybrid powertrain will also be available.

By reassigning the 2.5 engine’s starting and generating tasks to the newly added P1 motor, the turbo hybrid powertrain minimizes power losses. Combined with enhanced cylinder flow within the engine and the adoption of a high-efficiency cycle optimized for hybrids, fuel efficiency has been improved.

Typically, internal combustion engines generate power through four strokes: intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. The 2.5 turbo hybrid system utilizes an ‘over-expansion cycle’, intentionally delaying intake valve closure during compression to lower the effective compression ratio of the mixed gas in the cylinder while maintaining a high expansion ratio during the combustion process.

This technique reduces power consumption during mixture compression while maximizing energy generated after combustion, significantly enhancing engine efficiency.

Additionally, an improved piston design and a significantly expanded triple fuel injection range enhances combustion speed, stabilizes combustion and suppresses detonation, improving engine efficiency further still.
