PuppyCat needs a day off, and when it looks like Bee is incapable of looking after herself he enlists the help of their downstairs neighbor! From Bee learning some new fight moves to updating her DVD collection, these short missions are only getting started!

“Last Party” Cast

We finished the workweek by wrapping up recording the “Last Party” short in very hot North Hollywood. At the top is creator/writer Matt Carey-Gorey with Terrell Ransom, Jr and Daxx George. Kyla Rae Kowalewski is in the middle, followed by Audrey Huynh and Steve Blum. Mel Roach will begin putting together the animatic in the next week.

What a great group. Look for “Last Party” to hit Cartoon Hangover in the spring.

For Season Three, our goal is to make Impossibear super appealing to tweens. We were this close to giving him a sideways baseball cap and a skateboard, but opted for a top hat and bowtie, instead. What say you, tweens? Phat, right?

Thanks to Kyla Rae Kowalewski for delivering an A+ recording performance yesterday. You know her voice as Gumball’s little sister, Anais, and Me-Mow over on Adventure Time, but here she’s CopyCat for Matt Carey-Gorey’s “Last Party” short. Kyla read her 44 lines of dialog like the pro she is, and we’re really grateful she helped us out.

Kyla Rae, working on defeating the “deadly beast that dwells here.” More great talent in Cartoon Hangover cartoons. (And it’s always good to have a stack of chairs on hand at recording sessions.)

Comic book history has been made. Issue #36, the very last issue of Bravest Warriors, has just been released. If you are a BW fan and have yet to pick this up, you’re missing out on a fantastic run with all of your favorites.

It’s hard to believe, but Cartoon Hangover premiered Miss Kelly Martin’s “Doctor Lollipop” short on September 12, 2013. Two years and nearly two million views later, the good doctor is still fighting the good fight, saving the lives of forest critters everywhere. Thanks to Aliki Theofilopoulos for the show-running chores.

Time to break out the peanut-butter squares and champagne to toast what’s been a pretty terrific run of the Bravest Warriors comics. The three-year journey comes to an end today with the release of No. 36. A big thanks to Breehn Burns, Shannon Watters and all the men and ladies at BOOM! Studios, Nate Olson, Chris Troise, Ruth Morrison, and—last but not least!—the über-talented writers and artists who made the comics such a blast. It was a pleasure.

So, enjoy this last issue. If you’re like we are, you’ll (regret all that champagne and peanut-butter squares, and) keep your fingers crossed we’ll see more somewhere down the line.

City Dwellers

Indie animator Grant Kolton’s “City Dwellers” is the latest (though first greenlit) of the GO! Cartoons to be put in production here at Frederator Studios. Grant, a recent grad of the California College of the Arts, is a sharp and funny guy. “City Dwellers” centers around a comedy duo in the more classic sense; in this case, a beaver and a spruce. A spruce with a scarf. Welcome aboard, Grant.

Hats off to Mr Kolton. Look for his “City Dwellers” and GO! Cartoons around spring of 2016.

Introducing Boots, a new pilot for Frederator Studios and GO! Cartoons, now in production!

Boots sprung from the minds of father-daughter team David and Alison Cowles, who are the writers, creators, story-board artists, character designers, mentors, vocal-coaches, and shoulders to cry on… for Boots.

Say hi, everyone, to David Cowles and Alison Cowles. David and Alison are almost positively Frederator’s first father/daughter cartoon-creating team and are somewhat probably the studio’s first filmmakers from Rochester, NY. Also—we didn’t have time to look this up but we think we’re right—their GO! Cartoons cartoon, “Boots,” will be one of the very first Internet projects to feature a cat of all things. The short is now in production.

Welcome aboard, Alison and David and Boots.

And another cartoon in our GO! Cartoons shorts anthology is in production at Frederator Studios. David & Alison join Jonni Phillips over in the Creators’ Room.* Follow David and Alison’s “Boots” Tumblr for lots of cuteness… or should we say… catness? Because Boots is a cat.

I’m excited to finally announce that my pilot for Frederator Studios/Cartoon Hangover, Rachel and her Grandfather Control the Island, has been officially greenlit, the paper work is all done and now production is starting! The stuff above is a little bit of the things I’ve made for it so far.

I’m the creator, creative director, writer, storyboard artist, character designer and animatic director, so far. Production just started! I’ll post updates.

What!! How did this happen!

But seriously, though. Orange County, CA, represents with filmmaker Jonni Phillips and “Rachel and Her Grandfather Control the Island,” one of four GO! Cartoons now in production at Frederator Studios. Jonni’s the real McCoy, and we’re looking forward to following the production over the next few months. Best of luck, Jonni.
