The Audi A1 hatchback is smart, distinctive, and an all round refined little hatch. It has cute styling and a better interior than almost any other supermini. The 1.4 TFSI delivers peppy, yet economical motoring when paired with such impressive handling.

Bad:

The A1 has below average rear visibility, high option pricing and a smallish boot, even though it’s 70% bigger than the competing MINI Cooper’s.
