Yeah it wasn't a bad month at all. And good to see good bits of popcorn-tainment whilst we're all meant to be focused on 'oscar-worthy' stuff.

I eventually saw Haywire myself. I really liked it but i think it was yet another movie that was grossly missold. Woman in Black has stayed with me too - I wouldn't watch it again but I'm recommending it to people on the fence. I think Radcliffe will be ok in the long run.

Don't worry about the late comment approval, guys, I didn't even notice!

Here's my tweet reviews again:

HAYWIRE: A slow burn, 70s style, spy thriller with a good story but weak ending. Gina Carano has a great presence, very very watchable. ★★★

THE WOMAN IN BLACK: A bleak and creepy old fashioned horror slathered in thick suspense. A genuine chill went through me at one point. ★★★★

THE MUPPETS: A wholesome, undeniably enjoyable return for Henson's greatest creations. The many comic gems make up for the slight plot. ★★★

It's been a good month I thought.

That 5 star ratings system again:

 ★★★★★ All time favourite
 ★★★★ Brilliant, original and crafted
★★★ Fun, entertaining but not thrilling
 ★★ Just disappointing
 ★ Woefully awful

Thoughts?

It took me a while to get this listened to but another great episode guys.

But what did Adam Castwell think of some of these films? Well, here's my recent tweet reviews:

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO: A slicker, sexier but similar version of the Swedish film. Superb title sequence. Rapace > Mara by far. ★★★

THE IRON LADY: Nothing like Iron Man. If it wasn't for Streep it would be a dull TV movie. ★★

I'll definitely keep an eye out for Another Earth. Sounds very interesting.

Absolutely Wakeman24. Personal opinions are just as important but these one, to me, felt a little cruel and childish hence my posts. I have read some bad reviews which were also fair in many ways and wished the team the best for the future - those reviews, to me, are just as important as the good ones. The discussions here smarted of jealousy, if I'm honest, and John's post about the movie making $1? Well, even he's wrong as the film sold out numerous times at Cineworld over it's two runs. It made a little more than $1- and I have that on good authority. The bottom line is the constructive criticism is always a good thing and I'm sure the people involved in the film will have learned a lot of lessons - lets face it, even I had my 'cringing' moments - but why be so cruel? John, Misschraddon and especially Christian - get out there and do it yourself and see how you fare. Like I say, I KNOW how hard these guys worked (and continue to work) on the film. It was no walk in the park. You don't like the film, that's cool, but be a bit more adult in your comments. If not, people will just not take you seriously.

Brilliant rebuttals Pete and Steven...not every film is meant to please everyone though and I hope you appreciate that personal opinion is worth just as much from one person as it is from many. At the end of the day I agree with you (however I must admit I haven't seen the film) - you've got to respect people that actually get out there and live their dreams by making movies. It's far too easy to pick holes without getting out there and doing it yourself.

Check the audience award category. A lot of people worked hard on this film and I'm thrilled for them - yes, I'm linked to one of the crew, big deal. When you lot stop being students and maybe try making a movie you'll see just how hard it is to do it with no backing. Doubt you'll ever get a result like this!
