The New York Times in a recent report included Glasgow within their “must-see” destinations for 2012, which is a big boost for the city. However, it wrongly stated that the city had a “shiny new harbour” when it does not. Glasgow Harbour is the name of the area but it does not contain an actual harbour. Whilst this was an oversight, the attractions of Glasgow are legend, with great museums, shopping, nightlife, dining, music and sport, being amongst the best in the UK.

Sunshine in Scotland!

The giant pandas, Tian Tian and Yang Guang, both eight years old, have now arrived from China to Edinburgh Zoo in December 2011. Tian Tian, the female whose name means “sweetie”, and Yang Guang, meaning “sunlight”, now known as “sunshine”, will spend the next 10 years at the zoo. It is 10 years since any pandas were in the UK and it is a real treat that they can be visited in Scotland. The zoo is to be found in the west of Edinburgh, whilst tickets can be booked on-line - it really is an ideal day out for all the family.

Ski Update in Scotland

Whilst many Alpine ski resorts are facing the worst start to their ski season for 15 years, it is a different story in Scotland, especially at the Glencoe resort, as snow has been falling over the last two days, and another three foot of powdered snow is expected next week. For those wishing to go skiing over the winter of 2011/2012, did you know that the Glencoe day passes only cost £25!
