What an amazing group of people God has gathered at Christ Community Church to worship Him, and to learn and grow together! Our friendships are so encouraging, and our study is so thought-provoking and life-changing. Happy Valentine's Day Thanks

You guys amaze me and continue to surprise me with all your love. I just do not believe I have the words to convey how grateful I am for all of you. Thank you all so much for all your support and fun games and food. I love the Starbucks and the cards were all so sweet. Caylee, you are so great with your artwork. I love the big pic with Shannon and my parents. They are all going up over my bed so when I wake in the morning, I can think of you all and remember how much God has blessed me with such a wonderful family. Never in my life could I have imagined to have found such a fantastic church. Truly Shannon and I are blessed to have you all in our lives. Life out here has been good, it has been busy. All the fun we had last year has been occupied by a lot more work. It is good to stay busy and keep motivated. I attend chapel here when I can and have been blessed by God meeting me here. To say I have grown a bit would definitely be selling God's work in my life short. He is a master craftsman when it comes to our hearts. There are moments when I can step back and see where He is going with mine and it amazes me how precise He is in carving and shaping my heart. What a glorious God we have who never gives up on us, never leaves us and is willing to always discipline and correct us out of love. Again, to all of you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your gifts and all your love and prayers. Most of all, thank you for making sure Shannon is loved and always knows she has a family who cares deeply for her. I love you all very much.In His Name,Daniel

Greetings From the Middle East

Greetings from the desert. I wanted to take this opportunity to say hello and let all of you know how much I miss you and am thinking of you. I hope the website is able to continue to provide you with information that aids in your worship and time with God. It has been a busy time here but it has also been a fruitful time as the chaplain out here threw out the challenge to use this time as our desert experience. This is our chance to draw closer to Christ as we are far from home and far from our loved ones. This is a time to grow in our faith and to delve deeper in communion with God. For myself, I seek to live a contemplative life while here. What does that mean? Well, for me, it means:- 1. Spending my time learning how to really listen and to keep my opinions (you all know I have lots of em), to myself unless someone asks. - 2. Part of the first, learning softness, sometimes I can be rough around the edges and gentleness is definitely a fruit of the Spirit. - 3. Prayer has always been a weakness for me and I am learning solid techniques to improve my prayer life (I have a rosary that I use where each bead represents a different focus of prayer).- 4. Business. Funny, for some this would be anti what they need but I have noticed that one of my greatest issues with sin revolves around being slothful and lazy. Staying busy typically motivates me to get more done in quiet time, reading, school work and all other manner of responsibility. This is big for loving my wife by working hard around the house without needing to be asked.- 5. Finally, I just really want to draw closer to Jesus again. It seems like I have been wandering for awhile now and intimacy with Christ is something I greatly desire and when I don't, I want to desire to desire Him. It all seems to come back to prayer and as C.S. Lewis once said, "It is far easier to act your way into a feeling rather than feel your way into action...Act as if you love someone and you will".I love you all and long to see you soon.In His Name,Daniel
