The Centre for Critical Research on Race and Identity (ccrri), based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, aims to facilitate and initiate critical and well-crafted research concerning changing identities in post-apartheid South Africa. It does so by promoting collaboration in trans-disciplinary research, which reflects national and international debates regarding race and identity. Of crucial importance is the fostering of linkages and collaboration, both nationally and beyond, and the dissemination of findings to a range of constituencies. In particular, a further goal is to produce research that is relevant, timely and has policy effect. The ultimate intention is to contribute, through research, to a society that is just and represents all who live in it.
