Please Pray:

- We have a board meeting this Saturday Feb 2.

- Pray as Danielle and team visit churches and do camp presentations

- Visiting camp fairs and setting up a booth to recruit campers - pray for lots of campers!

- Setting up "home campfires" - small groups in homes for camp presentations where campers can bring their friends to hear about camp.

- Pray for Danielle, Nancy and Dianne as preparations are underway

Pray for Rachel Everswick: She will be getting a cardiac catheterization and procedure done to widen some of her heart vessels on Thursday. Rachel helps with all the activity preparations for Camporees. Please keep her in your prayers.

Cheryl Jansson has gone home to be with the Lord

Our precious Cheryl (she led the worship during Mother/Daughter) has gone to be with the Lord after her battle with cancer. Today is her funeral at Island Christian Church in Northport. A memorial service will also be held at Island Christian Church in Port Jefferson on Monday evening. Pray that many will give their lives to the Lord either for the first time or renew their commitment to him.

Pray for Marilyn Decker

We received word that one of our former volunteers (Marilyn Decker) who was on the weekend committee and on the scholarship committee has breast cancer. She is starting chemo this week. We know that God can heal Marilyn. Pray that God will give the doctors wisdom and that Marilyn's family will be a strong encouragement to her.

PRAY FOR THE CAMP PROPERTY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS
Pray that God will protect the property during these months when few are around.
Pray for our leadership as we plan for next year and make critical decisions regarding our program and facility.

PRAY FOR OUR MISSIONARIES
Let's all pray for the Owen family (Peggy and Barry) as they minister in Taiwan.

Camp has been put to bed for another year. Thanks to the many volunteers who make this possible.
The Rifle platform has a new steel roof on it. Thanks to the two groups of volunteers who started it and then finished it.

Pray for Cheryl Jansson

Cheryl Jansson has been fighting breast cancer over several months. At one point (when Cheryl came and did the music for Mother/Daughter) she was in remission. Recently the cancer has shown up in her brain and also in the spinal cord. Please be in much prayer for Cheryl as she goes through radiation treatments. Cheryl is on Caringbridge.org. Prep of Teams for Church Presentations

Time has come to set up church presentations. Our teams are preparing to go to various churches and do a camp night for their group. Pray that God will bless this effort to inform churches and families of camp opportunities.

Opening of Camp

The weekend committee and a small group of people will be going up to camp May 18-20 to start the Spring cleanup. Pray that much will get done during this weekend. The main project is replacing the floor around daisy, laundry room, and pot sink. The committee will be doing other projects during the weekend as well as praying over all the various areas of camp. Safety and efficiency are key. We are still in need of a couple more people to help with the deconstruction of the floor and replacing new subflooring. If you can help, contact us at 518-654-6262.

We just received news from former staff person Dan & Naomi, that Naomi (Krestral) Emerson's brother, Isaac (27 years old), passed away last night from Cardiomyopathy. He was exercising, then sat next to his wife and leaned into her lap. She attempted CPR and the EMT attempted CPR but to no avail.

Please pray for:
Strength for Isaac's wife who has two children, ages 5 and 2
Strength for the Turner family
Travel plans for Naomi as she tries to get back home for the funeral
The Turner family rest in the fact that God has taken Isaac and that they will see him again.
This is also the 1st anniversary from Naomi's child, Kemual's accident and homegoing. Please keep them all in your prayers.

March is upon us and many plans are being made for camp. Here are a few things for you to pray for this week.

- Filling key staff positions: Nurses, Maintenance supervisor, kitchen helpers

- That God will go before us and prepare the hearts of all those who will attend camp

Pray for the Scholarship Committee and Funds

The Scholarship Committee is busy working on policies and Question and Answer sheet. The have also been reviewing applications of campers who have applied for scholarships. Pray for wisdom from God and a discernment as each application is read. The committee feels responsible to God for choosing campers who they feel can use a scholarship and will benefit most from a camp experience.
We have just mailed out our fundraising letter for the scholarship fund. Pray that God will bless us beyond our greatest imagination!

As we give and receive gifts this Christmas time, may we remember the greatest gift of all - The gift of God's son Jesus Christ. Have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. Please pray for our camp friends and the staff that will be working with us this summer. Danielle has begun recruitment for another year.

Also pray for our year-end giving. That God will bless us with more that we can ever imagine.

Pray for our missionary families as they will be celebrating His birth in other lands.

Missionaries We Support

Camp Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks supports eight missionaries with the money collected in church offerings over the course of the summer. All of our missionaries are former staff members who have taken what they've learned at camp all over the world.

Linda and Ron Braaten—Oasis Ministry - Belize, Central America

The Braatens are working to meet the physical, education, and spiritual needs of people in the community. They now have 4 classes at their school and have been building houses for people. Pray for the people of Belize to come to know Jesus and tell others about Him.

Lois and Roger Bryson—Wycliffe Bible Translators - Waxhaw, NC

Lois and Roger are working to bring the gospel to people around the world through media. One thing they do is to train people to record the Bible on tape for those who can't read. Pray that people would come to know the Lord through the work of the missionaries the Brysons train.

Bonnie & Jonathan Moore - SIM USA - Niger, Africa

Jonathan preaches and teaches in their local church and Bonnie does literacy work in the church and neighborhood. They are also involved in their community and use friendship evangelism to help reach the people around them with the gospel.

Rachel & Edwin Lopez - World Outreach Ministires - Belize, Central America

Rachel is working with teen girls in her church and community. She is leading the youth group and doing Bible clubs at the schools. Pray for the kids that she works with and their families- that they would come to know Jesus and choose to follow Him.

Sarah T* - Pioneers - Albany, NY

Sarah (Melodi) works with Pioneers as Albany area director of Horizons International, an organization that serves International students in theCapital District. She will be leading her team in welcoming students, introducing them to American culture, connecting them with churches, and offering them an opportunity to hear the gospel through various means. Pray for Sarah and the students she interacts with.

Doris and Mack Graham - Wycliffe Bible Translators - Papua New Guinea

The Grahams are helping the people of New Guinea to read the Bible for themselves. They are translating the Bible into the language of the people there. Pray that they would be able to finish the translation and that the people there would read God's Word and come to know Him.

Claudia Long - SIM-USA - Nigeria, Africa

Claudia works at camp- in Africa. She runs camps for
the youth of Nigeria. They are working on developing
their property and putting up some new buildings. Pray
that the campers would have a fun and safe experience
and that their hearts would be open to God.

Peggy and Barry Owen - WorldVenture - Taiwan

The Owens are planting churches in Taiwan. This is important to help the people of Taiwan to hear the gospel and to grow in the Lord once they become Christians. Pray that the churches would grow as more people come to know the Lord.

Michelle Stockman - Latin American Mission - Belize, Central America

Michelle is running Jehovah Rapha, a home for girls that are neglected by their families. she is also involved at her church and with other programs for kids in the community. Pray for the kids she works with and for her as she fills in as a "mother" for these girls.

Dan & Naomi * —WEC Int'l - Central, Asia

Dan and Naomi have recently transitioned and are now planting churches in Central Asia. Pray for them as they make adjustments to their new home and begin the work God has given them.

We praise God for the people who worked hard on the newsletter, calendar brochure, full brochure, and registration program - all of which are soon to be released. Pray that God will use all of this for his glory and that many campers will find their way to one of the weeks available this next summer.

Pray for Danielle as she recruits campers and staff. Pray for the teams of volunteers who help her with church presentations as they travel to many churches and presents our ministry to girls.

Pray for Nadine as she works with the new registration program.

Pray for year-end giving that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. This is a busy time of year as we gear up for another year at camp. Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving:
As Thanksgiving approaches we have much to be thankful for. God has given us a great camp and wonderful heritage. Let's thank Him for his hand upon us every summer as we minister to our campers.

We have a wonderful staff which we thank God each and every day. He has given us vision and direction through the years. We have a wonderful board of directors and support volunteers throughout the year to keep things moving in the way our mission describes.

Praise:
We praise God for his Holy Spirit who searches our hearts and keeps us close to Him. May he continue to be a central focus in our lives.

Prayer:
Pray for lots of campers this next year!
Pray for our new registration program as we prepare to go live with it.
Pray for our year-end appeal for funds - that God will bless us more than we can even imagine!
Pray for friends of ours...Shirley Lisbona who is having surgery December 14th for a spot that is cancerous.
Pray that God protects our camp property throughout the winter months.

Working Hard for Next Summer

Pray with us as we put together the 2012 brochure, planning the weekly themes, settling on prices for next year, and finishing the fall newsletter.

We also will be working with a new registration program. Pray that the learning curve for this will be short. Your prayers for a smooth transition will be appreciated!

Camp has been put to bed for another year. We ask God to protect his property while we are not there.

We also have a board retreat coming up this Saturday, October 22. Pray that God will give the board wisdom and discernment as we examine the present and plan for future strategies that will help camp grow.

We are grateful for all your prayers and support for camp in every way. Our prayers are the building blocks for a solid foundation for this camping ministry.

Zoo Walk - Lots of Fun!

Thank you to all who came to the Zoo Walk. God was good and gave us a "no rain" day!! Bean, Rory and Kiska gave us a fabulous songfest during the BBQ.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated for those who are raising funds for Camp Cedarbrook by participating in the Zoo Walk this Saturday, September 24th. Pray for safety as we walk and spend the day at the zoo. Pray for good weather and a great BBQ that features a small songfest and face painting. Pray also that God will bless our efforts in fundraising for camp to help meet obligations camp has from now until registrations start coming in.

We have received word that Carol Keller Sehr's husband Rich had a stroke. He is now in Albany Medical Center and all of the kids are with him. Please pray for Rich, Carol, and the rest of the family. We will post an update when we hear news.

Eight Days Until Staff Arrive!

Pray for all the travel that will take place as people arrive at camp over this next week.
-Pray for safe travel for Tigger, Lewie, and Ryder as they pick up Wren's horses in PA.
-Pray for Olli as she packs her girls and moves to camp for the season.
-Pray for Wally as she packs and arrives at camp for pre-camp training.
-Pray for staff as each one arrives at camp throughout the week and especially Saturday when the majority will be on the road.

We need to finish the steel roofing!
Pray that God will send people to help us finish the steel roofing of the activity building, Pine Cabin, and the Administrative Offices (AO). Pray also for safety as people are on the roofs.
We are planning June 24-26 as the weekend to finish this major undertaking. Let's have all hands on deck for this!

We also have finishing touches we need to do before opening for the summer. Pray that these will be finished on time.
We are excited about this year and the campers who will be coming. Pray that God will send those who He has in mind for this extraordinary experience of camp.

Our last Work Weekend before summer camp schedule

This weekend we have lots of projects needing completion. The biggest ones are the steel roofing for the activity building, Pine Cabin, and the Administration Offices building. Pray that we have good weather and lots of people to help finish the projects. We also have minor projects still needing to be completed. Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

If you want to come and help, you can go to www.campcedarbrook.net, click on volunteers, then click on work weekends and the date June 10-12. This will let us know you are coming.

Pray for registrations for camp. We want to minister to as many as possible for the kingdom of God.

Praise for all the staff who will be coming to camp this summer. We are excited about the quality of our staff and the desires they have to minister to young girls.

Pray for Nancy and Danielle as they make preparations for pre-camp training with our staff.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated. It's through prayer that God moves on our behalf.

Thank the Lord for a Great Memorial Day Weekend!

We had over 160 people throughout the weekend come and help us prepare for ministry this year. God is great and many projects were started and some were finished. Pray that all the major ones will be completed by the time Mother/Daughter weekend comes around.
The shingles on the roof of the activity building, Pine Cabin, and the Administrative Office have been removed. The next work weekend we will install a metal roof on each. Pray that all goes well and everything is completed.
A prayer gazebo has been framed out. Finishing touches will be this coming weekend. Pray that all goes well.
The satellite dish has been placed and internet is available. Pray that we will be able to get the signal to the office from the birdhouse.
Six new picnic tables have been built - praise the Lord for a great team of workers who kept with it and completed the task!
The tents are up and ready to go. We are grateful for the team who puts these up every year!

CAMPOREE THIS WEEKEND
Pray for the churches who are bringing girls to the Camporee this weekend. Pray for safety on the road, safety at camp, a great time by the girls and their leaders, and have a wonderful experience with the Lord through their time in morning watch and during their sessions. We have around 160 registered for this event.

Scholarships for campers

We are in the middle of awarding scholarships to campers. Pray that as the fundraising letter goes out to request funds for the scholarship program, many will respond to the need so that we don't need to turn anyone away. Right now we are looking at an additional six applicants and we are not sure where the money will come from. God is good. Pray that he will secure the funds needed.

The Emerson Family, Zoo Walk, Lois and Roger Bryson

The Emerson Family
Yesterday was a very sad day as we witnessed the funeral of little Kemuel, 22 month old of Naomi and Dan Emerson. Please continue to pray for them and their 4 children as they make adjustments to living without him. This was tragic accident that only God can heal. Dan and Naomi were on our staff for a number of years. We love them and wish them God's comfort and love.

The Zoo Walk
We are involved in preparations for our Zoo Walk at the Bronx Zoo, which is a FUNraiser for camp September 24th. Pray as we discuss the details for this event. Our goal is $20,000. Pray that God will help us meet this goal.

Lois & Roger Bryson
The Brysons will be our speakers for the Friends and Family Camp this year. We are excited to have them with us for the entire week! Pray as they make their plans and put together some great lessons from the Word of God.

We have just received news from the Naomi and Dan Emerson, one of our camp families who we support on the mission field. Please keep them in your prayers.

Dear all,

We are very sad to let you know that our little Kemuel passed away today. He was playing in our courtyard and uncovered a whole that has a broken water pipe and is full of water. He fell head first into the whole and drowned. Naomi attempted to resuscitate him and the emergency personnel attempted as well, but in the end it was too late. Kemuel's name means God's helper, and now he is helping God in another way. I'm sure this conjures up many questions, as it has in our own minds. Please be patient with us as we grieve this great loss.

Opening of Camp

Pray for the guys who are going up to camp to turn on the water. The snow has finally melted and the lake has been closed. Also pray for the spring projects we have on the list. A group of guys from Loudonville Church will be measuring the roof of the activity building for steel roofing. Pray for safety has they walk around on top.

We are also looking at new flooring for the kitchen - especially around Daisy. Pray that we have wisdom in all of this and lots of volunteers to help.

Lois and Roger Bryson, our missionaries, will be speakers for Family and Friends Camp. Pray for them as they prepare to share the Word of God with us.
