Tom Cruise who recently separated from wife katie holmes led Forbes' annual list of the 100 highest paid actors earning nearly twice that of second place Leonardo DiCaprio and recapturing his spot among Hollywood's top-earning performers after his recent blockbuster movie "Mission: Impossible.

Cruise who celebrates his 50th birthday on tuesday (July 3,2012) earned $75 million between May 2011 and May 2012, making him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood.

Last year's top earner Leonardo DiCaprio tied for second place on the list with funnyman Adam Sandler, both with $37 million.

DiCaprio's earnings dropped after his 2010 "Inception," grossed $825 million at the global box office while his last film, "J. Edgar" disappointed at the box office. Sandler's income included his paycheck from 2011 film "Jack and Jill."

Former professional wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 40, came in fourth, earning $36 million including from his film "Fast Five" that took in $626 million worldwide, and at No. 5 was comedian Ben Stiller with $33 million

Jackie Chan Partners With Unicef To Combat Child Trafficking

Hong Kong-born Chinese actor Jackie Chan has partnered with Unicef to combat child trafficking . The movie-star will be in Myanmar, this week on a three-day mission to help combat child trafficking in the Southeast Asian nation.

UNICEF announced Tuesday that in his capacity as a good-will ambassador, Chan will visit the agency's projects for supporting trafficked children under special care for trauma and distress. He also will meet with officials of the Social Welfare Ministry and members of the Myanmar Police Anti-Trafficking Task Force .

The U.S. State Department's annual report on human trafficking says thousands of children in Myanmar are forced to serve in the national army and ethnic military groups. However, Myanmar signed an agreement with the United Nations last week to ban the recruitment of child soldiers and demobilize those already serving.

Late Whitney Houston was remembered Sunday night with a tribute at the BET Awards. Cissy Houston's tribute to her late daughter was the emotional highlight of the ceremony

Mariah Carey introduced the segment by noting the perceived rivalry between the two singers, who collaborated on "When You Believe," their Oscar-winning song from the 1998 animated film The Prince of Egypt.

"We got to spend a lot of time together as we promoted it, and we really got to know each other as people, not divas," she said, noting that Houston was "a hilarious person, with a cutting sense of humor. She was real and kept it real, and that's why we got along so well. If you really knew Whitney, you coudln't help but love her."

She said the last time she was with Houston was in London about a year ago, and people were still surprised to see the two together and getting along. "I miss my friend, and I miss hearing her voice and laughter, but we'll always have the music," she said.

Monica then took the stage to perform "i love the lord" followed by Brandy, who co-starred with Houston in the 1997 TV movie Cinderella.

Usher Gets Restraining Order Against Stalker Who Claims to Be His Wife

A Georgia woman was arrested outside R&B superstar Usher’s house this week after claiming to be his wife .

Accused stalker Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw was picked up outside Usher’s Atlanta-area residence early Sunday morning after the singer saw her via security camera sitting on his porch with her iPad plugged into a house outlet. “Ms. Jones-Rakestraw was saying that she was the wife of Mr. Raymond and he makes all her decisions,” a police report states.

Usher filed for a temporary restraining order Tuesday claiming he feared for his safety and that of his family. Police then took the woman to Emory Johns Creek Hospital instead, where she was later admitted for a mental evaluation. She was released shortly after, with a copy of the charges against her.

In YouTube videos posted after her release, Jones-Rakestraw said the R&B superstar has been calling her and giving her money for more than a year, and she claimed to have proof.

She is due to appear in court next month.

Katie Holmes is being reported to receive $3 million for every year she was married to Tom Cruise.

The 33-year-old actress filed for divorce on friday( june 29,2012)from the 49-year-old actor who she got married to in November 2006 and as she had signed a pre-nuptial agreement before they tied the knot, she is unable to seek half his rumoured $275 million fortune.

Instead, she will reportedly be paid $15 million for the five-year union as well as being given their $35 million Beverly Hills mansion.

However, Katie ,who has cited ''irreconcilable differences'' as the reason behind their split is seeking sole custody of the couple's six-year-old daughter, Suri, and experts believe she will get a huge amount of child support from Tom.

Top divorce attorney Vikki Ziegler told Hollywoodlife.com: ''Most of the estate is Tom's. She'll have to go for a lot of child support. She'll have to show that Suri has nannies, cars, activities, clothes, hair appointments. That a hefty amount each month is needed to maintain Suri's lifestyle.''

Once the divorce is finalised both Katie and Tom will keep their respective earnings from the projects they've worked on since November 2006.

As well as the Beverly Hills mansion, the former couple also have homes in New York, Colorado, Italy and England.

Since they did not stay married for 11 years, the pre-nuptial agreement states California community property laws won't apply to the divorce , which normally sees a couple's assets split 50/50.

Following the news Katie was filing for divorce, Tom , who has two children, Isabella, 19, and 17-year-old Connor with ex-wife Nicole Kidman said he was ''deeply saddened'' by it.

Lauryn Hill Pleads Guilty To Tax Charges,Faces Three Years in Prison

Eight-time Grammy winner Lauryn Hill has pleaded guilty in New Jersey to not paying her taxes. She was charged earlier this month with three counts of failing to file tax returns on more than $1.5 million earned from 2005 to 2007.

Hill appeared in U.S. District Court in Newark on Friday and admitted not filing taxes for all three years. She faces a maximum one-year sentence on each count totaling three years . Lauryn had issued a statement in response to the charges that she removed herself and her family from society, in order to keep them safe, healthy, and free from danger.

"I kept my life relatively simple, even after huge successes, but it became increasingly obvious that certain indulgences and privileges were expected to come at the expense of my free soul, free mind, and therefore my health and integrity. So I left a more mainstream and public life ", part of the statement reads.

Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o has been axcused by a Spanish public prosecutor of conspiring to evade 3.5 million euros in taxes owed on income from his image rights when he was playing for Barcelona between 2006-2009.

The former Barca and Inter Milan player, now with Russian Premier League club Anzhi Makhachkala, is accused of four tax offences, each punishable with up to five years in prison and a fine of as much as 21 million euros.

The case presented by the prosecutor on June 15 at a Barcelona court, and which was seen by Reuters on Thursday, asks a judge to open proceedings against the player before the statute of limitations on one of the alleged offences expires on Saturday. Spain recently launched a drive against tax evasion as it struggles to meet tough European deficit reduction targets that have meant budget cuts for hospitals and schools.

Eto'o allegedly created two companies, one in Hungary and another in Spain, and used them to channel income obtained from ceding his image rights to Barca and sportswear maker Puma, the prosecutor said. The Hungarian company paid one of the lowest corporate tax rates in Europe - 10 percent to 19 percent - while the Spanish company paid a reduced corporate tax rate of 30 percent to 35 percent, instead of the 45 percent income tax rate, the charge said.

He also allegedly used the Spanish company to deduct personal expenses, such as payments for his mortgages, furniture and expenses related to his luxury cars, the complaint added. The prosecutor also accused Eto'o's former agent, Jose Maria Mesalles, and the manager of the Spanish company, Manuel de Jesus Lastre, of the same tax offences.

Eto'o filed a lawsuit against Mesalles at a Barcelona court last year, accusing him of betraying his trust and of embezzling money, local media said. The Cameroon striker signed for Anzhi Makhachkala, a club from the volatile North Caucasus region and owned by Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, last August, in a record-breaking move that made him the richest player in the world, on an annual salary of 20 million euros.
