No big surprise here.  Many Critics are panning the next installment in the Twilight series  "New Moon" Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 4.9 out of 10.  Roger Ebert did not like it much.  Peter Travers of Rolling Stone said "I can’t comment on the acting because I didn’t catch Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner doing any. They basically primp and pose through the same humdrum motions they did before."

Clearly die hard fans don’t care what the critics think.  New Moon debuted last night to huge box office numbers.  Throngs of fans waited in line to see the movie some had been waiting hours to get it.   The movie has all the elements to do well.  Who can resist a nice girl-Vampire-Werewolf love triangle or a hunky pack of werewolfs. ;-)

According to band member drummer Joey Kramer Steve Tyler is in bad shape and hanging around with bad people these days who are negatively influencing him in the direction of substance abuse. Guitarist Brad Whitford said that “Tylers behavior was spinning out of control.” Well with all of Steve Tylers drug abuse history it is not hard to see where their concern comes from. Announcing a two-year hiatus from Aerosmith with lots of attendant cancellations and obvious income disappointment for other band members we can be sure that Aerosmith is wishing Tyler would sober up! He won’t though – consider this the end of Steve Tyler - going on 62 years of age one doesn’t return from another huge drug binge… .

Since when was the army concerned with books and authors?   The same sharp bunch who managed to overlook Major Nidal Hassan running around protesting US involvement in Iran and Afghanistan and trying to contact Al Quida amongst other activities that clearly rendered him unfit for anything but Islamic Terrorism (something he turned out to be good at) has decided to censor Sarah Palin and her supporters from speaking with reporters when she attends a book signing at Fort Bragg.   They claim to be worried about possible damage to the reputation of the Commander In Chief, President Barack Obama.   If this wasn’t so insulting to all of us who love and value our high national standards of freedom of the press, free speech, freedom of association, et al, it would be comical.   Is the army worried about a mutiny - LOL!

The Oprah Winfrey Show can’t end soon enough for me.   The woman is like a plague - her face and name are everywhere - checkout counters, buses, TVs, you name it.   The person who brought us the world’s biggest loser,Dr Phil, is getting ready to go or so it seems. Well I don’t buy it - not for one minute and here is my guess at the truth-there are elections in 2012 - big ones too including the one for President, and Oprah dearly loves to be in charge… so you guessed it - we will see Oprah for Congress or some such terrifying slogan once her show is done.   At least she can afford to finance her campaign with Forbes estimating her net worth at 2.7 BILLION US Dollars!!   I predict we will see Oprah trying to buy her way into the federal government in 2012.  Photo: Fame Pictures

Oh dear me!   When Roman Polanski drugged and raped the little 13-year-old child was he thinking about how upset she or her family would be?   Imagine the gall on the part of Roman’s shyster lawyer Herve Temime for trying to gain sympathy for Polanski by appealing to the suffering of his wife and 2 children due to his imprisonment awaiting extradition to the USA.
