Another Custody Battle

E! News was able to confirm that attorneys for Alec Baldwin were in court last Tuesday and requested for another custody hearing.

Marjorie S. Steinberg, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, scheduled the hearing this coming August 11, 2008.

Baldwin and ex-wife Kim Basinger divored 2002 after 9 years of marriage. Baldwin lost his visitation rights to her daughter, Ireland, last year for leaving mean voice mails for her daughter.

Now, this Emmy nominated actor wants to regain his privileges as a father to their daughter who will turn 13 this coming October.

Morgan Freeman seriously injured in car accident

In Jackson Mississippi, Acadmey award winner Morgan Freeman with a companion was involved in a car accident last Monday. Freeman and his companion was airlifted to a nearby hospital, Regional Medical Center in Memphis due to their condition.

The 71-year old actor was reportedly seriously injured. According to his publicist Donna Lee's statement,

The actor "has a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage, but is in good spirits,"

"He is having a little bit of surgery this afternoon or tomorrow to help correct the damage,"

"He says he'll be OK and is looking forward to a full recovery."

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident is under investigation but no alcohol or drugs is involved in the incident.

No charges has been filed against the award winning actor.

Christina Applegate diagnosed with breast cancer

Emmy winner and "Samantha Who?" star, Christina Applegate, was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now undergoing treatment.

According to her publicist Ame Van Iden, good this that the disease was caught early and the actress is expected to fully recover.

The Emmy winner's cancer was detected through an MRI ordered by a doctor and is not life-threatening.

Christina Applegate is scheduled and expected to appear on a television for "Stand Up To Cancer", a 1 hour television special, to be aired on ABC, CBS and NBC on Sept. 5 to raise funds for cancer research.

To Applegate, I wish all the best for you. I wish you God's speed in your battle with breast cancer.

Brangelina Twins on People magazine cover

The Brangelina twins' photos will hit newstands on Monday. The 3 week old twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, together with their famous parents and family will be on People's cover.
These photos earned them $14 million and all will be donated to charity.

Paris Hilton is on John McCain's latest political advertisement airing in almost every television in America everyday. What a great publicity for the socialite.

But according to Hilton's close friend,

"She hasn't seen the ad. "She knows about it, people have told her, but she hasn't seen it, and she doesn't plan to."

"She's on tour with Benji [Madden] and isn't watching television and has not been on the Internet," said the source. "But she's already said she's not too happy about it."

Paris' parents are big McCain supporters that they even contributed to his presidential campaign. Rumors says that Paris has chosen to to publicly announce who she's voting for as the next US president.

"She doesn't consider herself a political figure, and so she does not appreciate being used in that way," said the insider. "She'd prefer the candidates just leave her out of it".

Lawsuit against Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt's former management agency filed a lawsuit alleging that she did not turned over a 10 percent commission for getting her the main role on Ghost Whisperer. This is according to the dismissal filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last Tuesday.

The firm had asked at least $375,000 in damages.

The request was filed "with prejudice," meaning the plaintiff has agreed not to pursue the matter in the future.

According to Handprint's complaint, which was filed in April 2007, Hewitt hooked up with the company in 2002 and left in 2005, the year Ghost Whisperer premiered.

While the CBS drama, now entering its fourth season, brought the former Party of Five sixth wheel back "to national prominence as a TV star," Handprint claimed that she reneged on an oral agreement to turn over 10 percent of her earnings.

Jessica Simpson reveals new album cover.

Jessica Simpson has been busy working on her country album entitled, "Do You Know", and already revealed the album's album cover (see image above).

According to Billboard.com, the album has a track "Remember That", written by Dolly Parton (who also sings on the number), that talks about domestic violence.

The album also has Jessica's new single "Come On Over" as well as the song "You're My Sunday" which is dedicated to her boyfriend, Tony Romo.

The album is set to be released on Sept 9.

Shia LaBeouf arrested for DUI

Shia LaBeouf is hospitalized in Los Angeles Hospital for a hand injury and a DUI count because of the morning car crash accident he was involved in. The incident happend around 2am when LaBeouf was allegedly about to make a left turn on his Ford F150 truck and struck another vehicle causing his car to roll over twice.

The female driving the other vehicle and LaBeouf's passenger suffered minor injuries and was released immediately from Cedars-Medical Center after being treated.

Excerpt from E! News,

"He was arrested for a misdemeanor. He was booked and cited at the hospital," L.A. County Sheriff Watch Commander Sgt. Scott Wolf tells E! News. "No prints were taken and no photos were taken."
Since it was only a misdemeanor citation, LaBeouf was not required to pay any bail, Wolf said. The actor was given an August court date.

LaBeouf's rep released this statement,

"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008. Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time."

5 Hosts for the 60th Emmys

A prestigious event like the Academy awards or Emmy awards usually do not take so many hosts to do the workload, but for this year's Emmy expect 5 people to host the event.

Ryan Seacrest would return for the second time (he was the lone host last year) and be joined by Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Howie Mandel (Deal or No Deal), Tom Bergeron (Dancing With the Stars) and longtime Survivor overlord Jeff Probst.

An Emmy rep did not comment.

This wouldn't be Emmy's first to have multiple people hosting the event, the first was back in 2003 on the 55th Emmys Awards.

This year's 60th Emmy Awards will be at LA Nokia Theatre on Sept. 21, 2008.

Jolie-Pitt twins conceived through IVF?

A close friend of Angelina and Brad told US Weekly Reports that they turned to In Vitro fertilization to conceive twins.

IVF is a method of assisted reproduction, a man's sperm and the woman's egg are combined in a laboratory dish, where fertilization occurs. The resulting embryo is then transferred to the woman's uterus (womb) to implant and develop naturally. Usually, 2-4 embryos are placed in the woman's uterus at one time. Each attempt is called a cycle. One cycle of IVF costs an average of $12,400.

According to Fox News,

A source close to the couple told the magazine that "they both desperately wanted more babies soon," and says that the actress, 33, chose the $12,000 procedure so "she wouldn't have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant. She could just knock it out."

Angelina Jolie successfully gave birth with the fraternal twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, last July 12, 2008 in France.
