There’s also a potential romance between MIB and a passed-out partygoer and an interaction with the coolest cop I’ve seen in a minute (thanks for being cool, Officer Maxwell). Nathan Fielder just detonated the biggest surprise of the Telluride Film Festival, and Elizabeth Holmes let him do it.

For three years, rumors swirled that the Rehearsal mastermind was secretly filming the disgraced Theranos founder. On Sunday night (September 6, 2026), A24 confirmed it. The mystery screening everyone had been guessing about was You Can See Everything, Fielder’s 174-minute documentary co-directed with Lance Oppenheim.

The setup alone is unhinged. Thirty-four days before Holmes reported to federal prison in 2023, she let Fielder and a film crew move into her orbit. Not for an interview. For her life.

Vanity Fair confirmed Fielder actually lived with Holmes and her husband, Billy Evans, while shooting. The outlet described the result as “full of unexpected twists and turns and shocking reveals.”

The teaser doesn’t waste time getting weird. Holmes flatly insists she’s not who people think she is. “I’m not that person,” she tells Fielder. Later, staring her down, he can’t quite believe what he’s hearing. “You’re being real right now?” he asks. She says she is. The camera pulls back. She’s holding her baby.

A24 pulled off the reveal like a heist. Attendees at Telluride’s Herzog Theatre had their phones confiscated before the lights went down, so nothing could leak.

It didn’t matter. The second the credits rolled, social media exploded anyway.

Film director Daniel Howat called it “maybe the most hysterical, shocking, insane documentary” he’s ever seen. Producer Erik Nordgren went bigger, ranking it “easily the best film of the year for me.” Critic Mark Johnson wrote that Fielder and Oppenheim delivered “one of the most transfixing and jaw-dropping documentaries” he’s seen, and begged people to stay spoiler-free before watching.

The actual reviews back up the hype. Variety called it “just about the furthest thing from a ‘pure’ documentary you’ve ever seen.” IndieWire admitted that even after nearly three hours, the film “leaves us hungry and curious for more.”

This isn’t Holmes’s first brush with the camera. Hulu already dramatized her rise and fall in “The Dropout,” with Amanda Seyfried playing her. Rumors now swirl that Seyfried shows up in Fielder’s film too.

Part of the chaos is Billy Evans, who reportedly becomes an unavoidable presence onscreen, at one point physically taking over a task from Holmes mid-scene.

Part of it is Fielder himself, who’s admitted even he struggled to make sense of what he was capturing while it happened.

And part of it is the sheer audacity of the premise. A woman convicted of defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions with a blood-testing machine that never worked apparently agreed to be filmed at her most unguarded, for three years straight, right up until she walked into a Texas federal prison.

Redemption tour. Delusion. The ultimate long con. “You Can See Everything” seems built to never let you decide which.

A24 releases the film in theaters this October. Bring your own theories. Leave your phone at the door.

Not Monét X Change. As someone who has critiqued her fellow queens along with Bob the Drag Queen on Sibling Rivalry, she’s not shy about admitting when she’s made a goof on the runway.

In this video, she ranks her “10 best worst looks,” sharing the stories and inspirations behind these fashions that didn’t quite make the grade. Starting with the light-up, galaxy-themed look from All Stars 7 (that she gave to Bob and in this video seemingly takes back), she takes us through some fashion fails like her distressed end-of-the-world dress, a Vanna White tribute that left us wanting to buy a vowel, her Mermaid challenge look (designed by Phi Phi O’ Hara) and a radioactive bathing suit (a look that came about after production vetoed her initial burkini) and her baggy denim and diamonds ensemble. (I actually thought her red, feathered number from season 10, episode three was quite striking.)

Her self-proclaimed worst look, a black bodysuit from a sex shop styled to be a club kid look, was definitely not one of her best – and it proved to be one of her most embarrassing moments on the runway (especially because the sheer fabric required her first tuck.) All in all, this video proves that we all make mistakes, and it’s perfectly fine to just laugh about it (and I love Monét no matter what she wears.)

Okay. We’re going to Malibu. We’re going to be blasting Lana Del Rey or Lana Del Rey dance remixes on the PCH as we drive down the highway together. And we’re definitely going to a beach in Malibu, probably oh gosh, which one? Leo Carrillo Beach – which I filmed at as well. That’s a fun day.

You’ve got to sing one song karaoke that isn’t your own. What are you singing?

 “Let Me Entertain You” by Mario. That’s a go-to.

Who would you love to collaborate with?

Ooh, Lady Gaga. 100%.

If “Dark Summer” were a cocktail, what would be in it, and how dangerous would it be?

Ooh, it would be, like, a really witchy kind of cocktail. It would probably have it would probably have…there’s this gin that is a purple gin. I’m forgetting what it’s called. You know what I’m saying? I can’t remember what it’s called. I don’t remember. Anyway, it would have purple gin or something like that and it would be a little bit sweet as well and it would be bewitching.

You get to spend one night partying with any three musicians, living or dead. Who’s on the guest list?

Jeff Buckley who I’ve loved since I was a teenager. Loved him. Ooh, I would have to party with Madonna, and I’d want to party with Prince.

What’s one thing about you that people are always surprised to learn when they meet you?

You know what? A lot of people are sometimes surprised to learn that I’m a songwriter – or that I’m a director. A lot of people think, “Oh, wait, you write all of these too?” And I’m like, “Yes, I write everything or I co-write.” But all of it comes from my notebooks and from my experiences, and I think people tend to think, especially in the pop business that you’re not writing any of your songs and that you’re just changing a word, and nope, I’m coming up with the concepts. I’m writing my melodies or co-writing them, and it’s all coming from me.

If your life right now were a movie, who, what would the title be and who would want, who would you would, you want to play you?

The name would be Forever 17, and that’s also the name of my album – which you’re the first person I’ve told that, so you can you can drop that news. As for who’s playing me? Oh, I’d want Austin Butler to play me. Not that we look anything alike, but he’s pretty great at what he does.

Sony Pictures Television has suspended longtime Wheel of Fortune announcer Jim Thornton after a fellow airline passenger says she saw disturbing chatroom content on his laptop screen during a flight this past May.

“We have recently been made aware of allegations concerning Jim Thornton,” a Sony spokesperson said in a statement. “He has been suspended from Wheel of Fortune and we are recasting while we conduct a thorough investigation.”

According to TMZ, the incident happened May 14 on American Airlines Flight 1276 from Charlotte to Los Angeles. A passenger seated near Thornton told a flight attendant she saw messages in an open chatroom referencing children in a sexual context, and handed over photos she’d taken of his screen.

The captain radioed ahead. American Airlines confirmed to E! News that the flight “was met by law enforcement upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport on May 14 following concerns reported by a customer onboard.”

TMZ reports officers questioned Thornton at the gate — “wearing a ‘Wheel’ jacket at the time,” per the outlet — before releasing him. He has not been arrested. He has not been charged with a crime.

His attorney, Allison Hart, gives a very different account. She says Thornton has spent the past two years immersed in suicide-prevention advocacy, “since losing a close family member to suicide two years ago, and he has spent time visiting chat rooms offering support to individuals suffering from suicidal ideation.”

Hart says an acquaintance from that world sent Thornton a link that redirected him away from his intended destination — the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline’s own site — and onto lifeline.chat instead. “When my client understood what the website was about, he left the page and has not visited since,” she told TMZ. Photo timestamps reviewed by the outlet suggest he was on the page for roughly 57 minutes.

Hart is emphatic that nothing illegal took place. “There is no unlawful child pornography or other pedophilic content,” she said, adding that Thornton “never viewed, downloaded or consumed any child pornography whether on that commercial flight in May or at any other time.”

She described the airport questioning as brief and conclusive. Officers, she said, “spoke to him for five minutes or less, immediately determined that no wrongdoing had occurred and told my client he was free to go.” Her verdict: “In short, my client did nothing wrong.”

The timeline is notable. The flight was in May; Sony didn’t announce the suspension until September 1, and TMZ published the photos two days later. In between, Thornton kept working — he appeared in a pre-taped episode alongside Ryan Seacrest the same evening the suspension became public.

Thornton has announced Wheel of Fortune since 2011, stepping in after Charlie O’Donnell‘s death, and has called both the syndicated show and its celebrity spinoff. He worked alongside Pat Sajak and Vanna White for over a decade before Sajak’s 2024 retirement brought Seacrest in as host.

Sony hasn’t said what its investigation covers or when it ends. What’s confirmed right now is narrow: a passenger’s complaint, photos, a brief police stop that closed without charges, and a lawyer flatly disputing the story being told about her client.

Fox News just kicked Maria Bartiromo to the curb, and nobody’s saying why.

“Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media,” the network announced Thursday (September 3, 2026), thanking her for twelve and a half years of loyal, Trump-friendly programming and wishing her luck on whatever comes next.

That’s it. No explanation. No goodbye montage.

The timing is brutal. Bartiromo hadn’t been on air since August 9. No sign-off, no farewell segment, nothing.

Her morning show, Mornings with Maria, aired its final episode Thursday and gets rebranded Mornings with Fox Business by Friday, fronted by a rotating cast. Her Friday night program becomes FBN’s Wall Street, hosted this week by Cheryl Casone and helmed by rotating anchors thereafter. Even her Sunday politics hour, Sunday Morning Futures, is getting a temporary host in Jason Chaffetz while Fox figures out who’s next.

Fox didn’t offer a single sentence explaining the real reason, echoing the same stone-faced silence it kept when it dumped Tucker Carlson without warning back in 2023. Bartiromo’s exit follows the exact same script: gone fast, gone quiet, gone before anyone gets a real answer.

Media Twitter (or X, or whatever) lost it instantly. Guardian reporter Jeremy Barr‘s reaction: “Holy crap.” Journalist Aaron Rupar simply noted she “is done with the network.”

Punchbowl’s Brendan Pedersen kept it simple: “Whooooooa.” Bluesky user Scott Dagostino summed up the confusion best: “This is weird and unexpected.”

Naturally, everyone assumed Bartiromo was headed for a West Wing podium. She’d been floated as a replacement for outgoing press secretary Karoline Leavitt, and her exit landing the same day as the first briefing without Leavitt fed the theory.

Vanity Fair‘s Aidan McLaughlin shut that down fast: “Bartiromo is not leaving for a job in the Trump admin, I’m told.” Deadline backed that up too, reporting she isn’t jumping to a rival network either, at least not yet.

So what actually happened? Fox isn’t saying.

Conservative pundit Amanda Carpenter isn’t exactly mourning the loss. “That’s one major election conspiracist off the Fox roster for the midterms,” she wrote, needling Bartiromo’s history of amplifying 2020 fraud claims.

That history is not small. Bartiromo was named in Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation suit against Fox, a case that ended with a $787 million settlement.

During one infamous interview with Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, Bartiromo said on air that she knew “there were voting irregularities.” Full stop. No pushback.

It’s a long way from the anchor who made history reporting live off the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Her old CNBC colleague Ted David watched the political pivot happen in real time.

He didn’t hold back: “Maria was always considered to be a principled professional.” The eye-rolling, he added, started long before Thursday.

As of publication, Bartiromo has said nothing. Not a tweet, not a statement, not a peep on any platform.

For a woman who built a career filling airtime, the silence is doing a lot of talking.

Theo James just took a flamethrower to the internet’s favorite royal fan-fiction, and he did it twice in one week for good measure.

The Gentlemen star sat down with Town & Country ahead of his Netflix crime drama’s season two drop and got asked the question every royal reporter has been dying to plant: is Meghan Markle actually joining the cast for season three? His answer wasn’t subtle.

“No, I think that was mainly a lot of hot air,” James said, dismissing weeks of breathless casting speculation in a single line.

He couldn’t resist a joke first, though. Asked about “a certain ex-royal” potentially sharing the screen with him, James deadpanned that Sarah Ferguson was actually the one signing on, and that she’d be playing his love interest.

Fergie, not Meghan. Make of that what you will.

Then, days later at the actual season two premiere in London, James doubled down for the Press Association, and got even more blunt. He called the Meghan chatter spurious, allowed that she’d theoretically fit the show’s aristocratic world since she’s technically part of a royal family herself, then shut the door anyway. “The practicalities of that are impossible,” he said.

Two interviews, two different flavors of no. First it’s vapor, then a flat-out impossibility. Pick a lane, Eddie Horniman.

James wasn’t alone on the carpet fielding the question, either. Ray Winstone joked he isn’t even sure he’s coming back for season three himself. Vinnie Jones waved the whole saga off with the exact same two-word verdict as his co-star.

Hugh Bonneville, arriving fresh off Downton Abbey duty to play a new aristocrat, called the entire rumor a savvy piece of stunt marketing, then pitched Nigel Farage as a cast addition completely unprompted. Truly nobody asked, Hugh.

Here’s what makes this juicier than a standard casting denial: the rumor didn’t come from nowhere. Deadline first reported Markle was in early talks for season three right as she and Prince Harry made their surprise move back to the UK.

And when a Netflix UK executive got cornered about it on a festival panel, she didn’t kill the story. She left it dangling instead, refusing to rule anything out.

That’s not a denial. That’s a tease dressed up as a shrug.

It’s also worth remembering Markle has flip-flopped on this exact question before. Back in 2022, she told Variety her acting comeback intentions boiled down to four blunt words: “absolutely not.”

Four years later, reports suggest she and Harry were quietly discussing an acting comeback even before The Gentlemen came calling.

So take Theo James’s hot air line with a grain of salt the size of Windsor Castle. Actors deny casting news right up until the ink dries.

It’s been a minute since these two filmed an episode of I Like to Watch, and the break did them good because this video is packed with the hilarity and chaos we have come to expect from these queens.

This time around, they tackle the dating reality game show Let’s Marry Harry, where 20 women compete for the heart of Harry Jowsey. Yes, I had to Google him. He has appeared on (among many other shows) Too Hot to Handle, Amazing Race Australia, Love Island Australia, and Dancing with the Stars.

The clips we see are painful to watch, but fortunately, Trixie and Katya’s commentary can help us laugh through the pain. These two are doing the Lord’s work and have at least saved me many hours of my life.

Andrew Garfield is still not over the gay Spider-Man idea. Neither, apparently, is anyone else.

The actor sat down with Entertainment Weekly this week to promote his new Paul Greengrass drama, The Uprising. Somehow the conversation looped back to 2013, and Garfield didn’t dodge it.

Garfield, 43, played Peter Parker in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel before Tom Holland took over. He briefly reprised the role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Back then, during the press tour for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Garfield told EW he’d pitched gender-swapping Mary Jane to a producer. “What if MJ is a dude?” he recalled asking. His casting fantasy: Michael B. Jordan. “I’ve been obsessed with him since The Wire,” he said.

He kept going. “Why can’t he be into boys?” Garfield asked at the time, a line the internet has never let him live down.

The comments made headlines then, too, and reportedly got him pressure from the studio to walk them back. Garfield has since said as much, telling The Independent in 2021 that he was leaned on to apologize for airing what he considered a legitimate idea.

There’s also a leaked-document wrinkle. Sony emails published via WikiLeaks and first reported by Gawker included a list of “character integrity obligations” from Marvel, guidelines that reportedly would have blocked Garfield’s whole pitch outright.

None of that has aged him out of the argument. “It was an exercise in rebellion that I felt passionate about,” Garfield told EW this week. “I just still believe that anyone can be in that suit.”

He’s also gotten more philosophical about why. “You don’t see skin color, you don’t see gender, you don’t see sexuality,” he said, describing what makes the character universal. “Anyone can project themselves into that suit.”

And in case anyone wants to accuse him of overthinking a fictional web-slinger’s love life, Garfield’s got a preemptive clapback ready. “You’ll be telling on yourself if you have a strong opinion either way,” he said.

Fair point, honestly. Getting mad about a hypothetical gay Spider-Man says a lot more about the mad person than it does about Spider-Man.

Here’s the thing Sony still hasn’t caught up to: the comics already did this. Web-Weaver, an openly gay Spider-person, has existed on the page since 2022’s Edge of Spider-Verse. Live-action Spidey remains stubbornly, exclusively straight across every timeline Marvel and Sony have cooked up.

Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley, who was actually cast as Garfield’s MJ before her scenes got cut from Amazing Spider-Man 2 entirely, just resurfaced with her own memories of getting axed. Small universe. Small, extremely straight universe.

Garfield isn’t pitching a specific reboot or a specific ship here. He’s making the same argument he made in 2013, just with thirteen more years of receipts: the mask doesn’t care who’s under it. Sony clearly does.

Until that changes, Garfield’s stuck doing what he’s always done: showing up to press tours for completely unrelated movies and somehow making Spider-Man’s sexuality the headline anyway.

The Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, dancer and model has built his career across multiple creative disciplines, drawing on his background in theater, music and dance to create a distinctly multidimensional artistic identity.

Now, with his new single “Dark Summer,” Stewart is revealing a side of himself that fans haven’t seen before. The industrial-pop track transforms years of heartbreak and complicated relationships in Los Angeles into something darker, moodier, and decidedly more personal. Born from a conversation about relationships and a bartender’s dark nail polish, the song became an opportunity for Stewart to revisit some of the painful experiences that have shaped him and turn them into art.

That vulnerability represents a significant evolution from the carefree energy of his 2019 single “Mess Your Hair Up.” While Stewart still loves the fun, danceable music that introduced audiences to him, his forthcoming debut album explores heartbreak, hookup culture, mental health and other darker subjects. As he puts it, he’s still the artist who ends his shows with “Mess Your Hair Up,” but there’s now a lot more color in the picture.

The song’s accompanying music video takes that darkness even further, transforming Stewart into a fallen, undead James Dean haunting Hollywood. Inspired by his lifelong fascination with Dean, classic horror movies and the idea of feeling “beat up and scarred by love,” the cinematic visuals allow him to explore a darker side of his creativity that he’s been waiting to unleash.

After more than a decade of work, Stewart’s debut album is finally complete and he considers it his “magnum opus.” In our exclusive interview, Stewart talks about turning heartbreak into songwriting, embracing his darker side, the making of “Dark Summer,” his obsession with James Dean and why this album is the project he ultimately wants to be remembered for.

 You kind of do it all. You’re a Renaissance man. You sing. You’re a songwriter. You’re a dancer and a model. How do all of those different creative disciplines shape the artist that you are now?

Oh, man. I am in LA, and I feel like in LA you have to really juggle a lot of different things to survive. But also, I just love a lot of different things. I’ve been filming on camcorders since I was a little kid, so I always knew I wanted to be a director, but then I was always songwriting and singing too and doing theater and musicals and what have you.

Doing theater I had to act, I had to sing, I had to dance all at the same time, and it had to be loud, and I had lots of training going to Berklee College of Music in Boston. That really kicked my ass in all the best ways, and you just pick up a lot of different hobbies that become part of your career.

You moved to LA about a decade ago. How has the city and everything in LA shaped your music and your identity as an artist?

Isn’t that insane? A decade goes by like that sometimes. But it shaped me a lot because I tell everybody that my life changed – it was a total 180 life change – moving here from New York almost 10 years ago. Everything changed – not just the weather, not having to deal with snow anymore. It was, like, getting to work with so many different collaborators and getting to reconnect with people from college as well that I hadn’t seen in a couple years.

And just the level of talent out here that I get to work with has really changed my life. Getting to go into different sessions that I never thought I would be able to step into and working with great songwriters and great directors who have taught me so much. And I’m not afraid to work with people who are a lot better than I may be. I feel like that’s the only way you get better yourself, and if you just keep putting yourself in rooms where you have to keep elevating, and everyone there is an incredible writer, incredible singer, incredible performer or director you have to meet them where they’re at and where you’re at and hopefully rise up from there. So, even though it’s been a crazy 10 years, and it’s been COVID and the pandemic, and wildfires, and writer strikes, and a lot of stopping and going, we’re still here, and the album is done. So, there you go. That’s been a big one.

You’ve been putting out music since “Mess Your Hair Up” in 2019. When you look back at that version of yourself, like 2019 you, how do you think you’ve evolved as a performer?

Ooh, big time. I think with the album that I’m releasing next year I really dove into my darker side, and my darker experiences in LA and even before LA. I think for “Mess Your Hair Up” was very honest for me at the time. I had left my boyfriend in New York to pursue my career in LA, and he had sent me a photo, and he had gotten a really sexy haircut, and I was like, “Oh, I just wanna jump on you and mess your hair up.” And then ding, that’s when the song came to me.

All my songs come from an autobiographical place and a very organic place, and that’s just where I was at in my life at that point. Everything was so fresh and new in LA. The pandemic hadn’t happened yet, and I just wanted to make fun, danceable, upbeat music. And that’s not to say that I don’t still love that kind of music, but it’s not the same now. I’ve dated a lot of other people in LA and gone through my share of heartbreaks and all of that kind of stuff and it was time to dive into the heartbreak of it all – and some of that is darker subject matter, like “Dark Summer”. I’ve got so many other singles that I’m ready to bang out soon that are also darker subject matter, about hookup culture and mental health and so many things like that. I still am the guy that ends his shows with “Mess Your Hair Up”, but I now throw in a lot of other colors into the set.

That leads me into talking about “Dark Summer”. You said you’re an autobiographical writer and the song came from a conversation about men and a bartender’s nail polish. How do these seemingly random ideas come together in such a good song about heartbreak and, dating in Los Angeles?

Thank you. No, it’s so funny. Just like I was saying with “Mess Your Hair Up”, you see a picture or you hear a random sound, and it triggers something in you as a songwriter, and you’re like, “Oh, wait, that makes me think of this.” And sitting at a bar with a friend and talking about relationships and then seeing the bartender’s dark nail polish, and this was a couple summers ago, and when I complimented her on it, she said, “Oh I don’t usually wear such dark colors in the summer”, and I was like, “Wait a minute. I need to write a song called ‘Dark Summer’.” And then the next day I was writing it with my co-writer Stevie Beerkens about going it, back in time into all of the horrible relationships I’ve had in LA because, you know, it’s not the best place to date. That’s for d**n sure. But we try.

You called dating in Los Angeles “hell”, so was it cathartic to actually write this song and get those feelings out?

Yeah, of course. Songwriting is the most cathartic thing for me. I’ve written songs since I was four years old, so it’s a “need to have” to kind of thing. I don’t know how to not write about my life and sing about it, and it’s this part of my brain I just can’t turn off. It even comes to me in my dreams. I’ll have a song idea and it will just be looping in my head again and again until I wake up and record it on my phone. And it’s always good to look back at even the s***ty experiences in your life and be like, “Okay, at least I got a song out of that. At least I got to get that off my chest,” or maybe I ripped off that Band-Aid that I had on and experience those feelings again, but it’s for the good of the song.

The song started as a piano ballad before you and Stevie transformed it into that darker synth-heavy sound. What did you hear in the song that made you realize it needed to be transformed?

So, most of my songs start on piano, whether or not I’m playing the piano or if I’m with a co-writer and they’re like an insane piano player like Stevie is. He’s a real pro when it comes to piano, and we started the song with just our regular four or five chords. I really feel like the test of a good song is whether or not it can be stripped down to an acoustic version, to just guitar, just piano, and if it still has something powerful about it and it still tugs at your heartstrings or gives you the goosebumps. That is when you have a good song. And from there we generally go from the piano version and then start building it.

I think about what my inspirations are, and I’ve been listening to David Bowie a lot since I was a teenager, and his song “Ashes to Ashes” has this beautiful synthesizer in it and it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it – since I was a little kid – and I’ve always loved David Bowie and looked up to him. The Billie Eilish, the David Bowies of the world. It was really fun to expand as an artist, I’d say, based on the artists that influenced me, and it just came out that way. I love my synthesizers. I love eerie danceable beats and that’s what Stevie brought to the table with that, and I brought my vocals and my crazy experiences with dating.

The video for the song was inspired by Lady Gaga’s Mayhem and things like that. How did you develop that visual story and which parts of that mythology you wanted to look at?

I knew that for some reason I get these, these random visions when it comes to music videos and the visual for my songs where I want this one thing to be like the focal point of a music video that makes it really striking. And I was like, “I want to be like a fallen idol. I want to have massive wings on, and if I can make them animatronic, I will.” And so, I found a place in London that specialized in all of that, and they shipped them out to me right before the music video was filmed. I had a little remote in my hand, so I was able to make them flap around. I built my story around the wings, honestly.

I was like, “Okay, I’m a fallen idol. Which idol would I want to be?” I’ve always loved James Dean and always related to him in a lot of different ways, from his interesting dark history, which, if you delve deep into in his biographies, he went through some pretty shady stuff in his short life. But the work that he left behind is so magnificent and incredible. I’ve always felt such a kinship with him. And then I thought, “What if James Dean came back from the dead to haunt Hollywood and haunt the Hotel Roosevelt where he used to hang out and where Marilyn used to live?” And my other metaphor, my big metaphor for feeling beat up and scarred by love. So that’s why initially I was like, I’m going to be bloody and beat up, and then I was like, oh, wait, no. It’s going to be like it’s me, but I’m playing James Dean after a car crash, something really dark. I grew up loving horror movies as well as musicals and rom-coms, and some part of me as a kid really liked the horror movie stuff, so I finally put it in a music video.

You said that evolving as an artist is extremely important to you. What do you think “Dark Summer” reveals about you that listeners might not have heard before?

I think it reveals that I’m not as happy all the time as people tend to think I am. I’m a pretty upbeat, giggly person when I have good company, like you, and I generally do have a really upbeat personality but the thing is that’s what the majority of the world sees. And as an artist, you really get to delve deeper into hey, this was something that was really depressing that happened in my life. This was a heartbreaking moment – and actually getting to peel away those masks that you sometimes have to put on for the world. It’s a time where you can strip everything away and just be completely honest, and writing that song was cathartic and it was also heavier subject matter. I wanted people to see that part of me because people in the past have heard other songs of mine that aren’t released and been like, “Whoa, I didn’t know you had this darker side of you.” And I was like, “I do.” So, it’s showing people a different side.

“Dark Summer” is part of your debut album and it’s your magnum opus, as you said. What makes the project feel like such a defining statement for you?

Because I’ve been working on it for over a decade now at this point. When I first came to LA almost a decade ago, one of the songs that I’d written in Boston when I was still in music college I had a dream about – that it had to be on the album. So, I reworked it. I reworked a couple of them, actually, that were just sitting in my notebooks, and the rest of the work is music that I’ve been able to make and write along the way, along this journey in LA for the past decade.

We tried pitching to other artists. Some of them were on hold. Some of them almost got me on an NBC show or two, but then they just want to write songs. It was time for me to finally just make a decision like hey, I know I’m out here songwriting professionally, and other people want to cut my songs, and that’s great. But the songs that still mean so much to me and are the most autobiographical, those are the ones we’re having on the album. And those are the ones that, regardless of whether or not it’s on a major label…I’m on an indie label and they’ve helped me a lot and they’ve been great. But regardless, it’s like this is my time to be like, I’m the record label. I’m in charge of my masters. I’m in charge of writing it, making sure that it’s produced, mixed and mastered, and then I own my masters because of that.

And it is my magnum opus because I’ve been working on it for so long, and it, there have been so many stop-and-go moments, especially with the pandemic, where we didn’t even know if we’d even be able to perform in front of a crowd again or get in the room with co-writers ever again. It was really scary. And coming through that with the rest of the world and still getting to bring all of these songs to light that is my magnum opus.

It’s like even if I only release one album and maybe become more of a songwriter for other people or I don’t know. I am a Renaissance man, though. I like that you said that because when I feel like making music, I’ll make music, and when I feel like acting, I’ll act. And life can take you in a bunch of different directions, but if there’s something I want to be remembered for, it’s going to be for this album.

Alanis Morissette says she won’t pay to make a blackmail threat disappear, and now it’s headed to court.

The singer sued her former tour manager, Keren Urinov, in U.S. court on Tuesday, accusing her of orchestrating a months-long blackmail scheme that started after Morissette’s 2025 summer tour wrapped. Morissette, the ’90s hitmaker behind “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic,” had brought Urinov on to run that tour.

The complaint, obtained and first reported by Billboard, was written by entertainment attorney Howard King. It names Urinov, who spent nine years running Live Nation’s Israeli operations before Morissette hired her to manage the tour. Live Nation itself is not named as a defendant.

According to the filing, the dispute traces back to July 12, 2025, when British Border Force agents seized a bag containing marijuana and xylazine, a non-opioid animal tranquilizer, at an airport. Urinov reportedly admitted on the spot that the bag belonged to her.

Morissette claims that admission later became a weapon. The lawsuit says Urinov began sending letters demanding a 15-year, full-time contract as tour director with major compensation, threatening to tell British authorities the drugs were Morissette’s instead if she refused.

The complaint frames the ultimatum as extortion, not negotiation. It states Morissette won’t spend the next 15 years working with an “incompetent blackmailer,” let alone hand over a payout to make the threat disappear.

TMZ, which independently obtained the filing, notes Urinov was only “temporarily employed” as tour manager, a detail that undercuts her demand for a permanent post overseeing tours well beyond the one she was hired for.

The suit is equally pointed about Urinov’s performance on the job it says she’s unqualified to keep. It cites a hotel booking error that allegedly cost the tour $70,000 as evidence of mismanagement during the 2025 run.

Morissette is suing for fraud, civil extortion and negligent misrepresentation. She’s seeking unspecified financial damages and, according to the complaint, wants the case to force Urinov’s scheme into the open.

The filing adds to an already contentious legal picture. Law360 reported on Aug. 26 that Morissette had already been sued in London by a Live Nation executive in the company’s Israeli unit, a filing that predates this week’s complaint by roughly a week and appears connected to the same fallout from the tour. Law360’s report didn’t detail the specific claims in that suit, and it’s not yet clear how the two cases intersect.

Urinov’s law firm did not immediately return Billboard’s request for comment on the new lawsuit.

None of the allegations, from either side, has been tested in court, and both cases remain in early stages. Tuesday’s filing marks the latest escalation in a working relationship that soured almost as soon as the tour wrapped. What’s on the record for now is one artist’s detailed account of feeling cornered by a former employee, and her decision to fight rather than pay.

Get ready to put your leather jackets back on, because the late pop legend George Michael is storming back to cinemas with a roaring vengeance.

George Michael: The Faith Tour dropped its first footage this morning. It’s not a rehash. It’s 1988, resurrected: two nights at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, shot on 35mm across 14 cameras, sitting in a vault for nearly four decades until somebody finally hit restore.

The trailer (watch below) opens on “Careless Whisper,” pivots into “Father Figure” and “I Want Your Sex,” then lands on the title track itself. Michael is 24, in leather and shades, working a room the size of an arena like it’s his living room.

Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson isn’t underselling it. He calls the film “a defining moment that was made for the big screen.”

That’s not hype for hype’s sake. This is a man at the exact hinge point of his career, mid-transformation from Wham! heartthrob into solo powerhouse, caught on film stock nobody thought would see daylight again.

Helen Parker, an EVP at Universal Pictures Content Group, put it plainly: “George at the height of the Faith tour was simply electrifying.”

Ken Danquah didn’t hold back either, praising “the extraordinary craftsmanship that has gone into bringing this footage to life.”

Before the concert even starts, audiences get “Finding Faith,” a short from Mary McCartney built around a previously unheard Michael interview, plus behind-the-scenes footage from the “Faith” video and stills from photographer Herb Ritts. Call it a prologue, not a warmup act.

The directors aren’t strangers to this material. Andy Morahan made half of Michael’s iconic music videos. David Austin has run the singer’s estate since his death and already co-directed 2017’s “Freedom” documentary, so this isn’t some studio grabbing footage and slapping a logo on it.

George Michael Entertainment’s own statement leans into the mythology, describing the footage as “a turning point that transformed George Michael from a global superstar” into something closer to a permanent cultural fixture.

There’s more than just the film coming. An 18-track live album, also titled The Faith Tour, lands alongside it, stacked with unheard Wham! and solo recordings nobody’s had access to until now.

The official framing calls the whole project “a celebration of ambition and fearless artistry at its peak.”

Fans, unsurprisingly, are not being subtle about their feelings. One commenter summed up the mood for an entire generation: “I’m about to cry, my dream is finally coming true.”

Mark your calendars. The film opens in international theaters November 4, then hits the U.S. and Canada December 11, with IMAX handling early access stateside for the premium-format run.

Ten years after his death, George Michael is about to fill screens the size of buildings, and nobody’s mad about it. Pop nostalgia has produced a lot of cash grabs lately. This one, at least, has the footage to back up the hype.

Leave it to pop’s ultimate shapeshifter to decide that seven letters were holding her back. On August 31, Miley Cyrus, the 33-year-old superstar wiped her social media clean, changing her handles to a mononymic “Miley” and triggering immediate online chaos.

She dropped “Cyrus” from her digital footprint, updating her domain from mileycyrus.com to mileyofficial.com. Fans quickly declared, “Oh, she’s just being Miley,” echoing her classic 2007 debut single.

The sudden pivot comes straight on the heels of major career shakeups. Just one month prior, the singer signed with Atlantic Records after five years with Sony Music’s Columbia Records.

Her former label released Endless Summer Vacation in 2023 and Something Beautiful in May 2025. The former housed “Flowers,” which earned her her first Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance in 2024.

The shedding of her famous surname isn’t entirely unprecedented. Over a decade ago, she openly pondered the concept of stripping away her lineage.

“I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley but there’s something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name,” she told Notion magazine in 2013.

Now, her surname has “officially clocked off” as she gears up for her 10th studio project. Speaking to Wonderland magazine around her label switch, she revealed details about the creative process.

“This one was different. It was organic and really unforced,” she explained. “Something that was super helpful this time was I started with the tracklist and never veered from it”.

She promised a tight, deliberate collection for her next rollout. “I knew it would be 10 songs. I roughly knew the sound and the concept,” she said. “That gave me a really strong compass without making the process feel forced”.

The project will center on a “love story,” marking a fresh chapter after a heavy emotional stretch. The aesthetic refresh coincided with the tragic loss of her godmother, country icon Dolly Parton, who died on August 25.

Alongside two striking red-and-black photos uploaded to Instagram, she posted the singular, bold caption, “MILEY”. Speculation immediately blew up across pop culture feeds, with followers declaring it “the most Miley move ever”.

Mel Gibson stepped out from backstage at FanExpo Canada’s 30th-anniversary weekend, and within seconds, reminded the internet exactly why it never fully forgave him.

As moderator Liam Crowley introduced the 70-year-old actor to the Toronto crowd on August 29, 2026, an ASL interpreter was signing the intro for deaf and hard-of-hearing fans. Gibson walked up behind her, flapped his hands in mockery, then flashed the crowd a grin like he’d just landed a bit.

The clip hit social media within hours. “This is despicable!” tweeted one horrified onlooker, and thousands piled on.

Deaf community members were quick to weigh in. “Always disappointing to see my language mocked,” wrote one ASL advocate, noting how hard the community fights for that language to be respected.

Not everyone joined the pile-on. Some defenders insisted it was just “a dumb joke… not worth getting offended over,” proof Gibson’s fanbase remains loyal no matter what.

But the internet had a receipt ready. Reacher star Alan Ritchson worked the same convention circuit and, at a separate moment, stopped to properly thank his own interpreter. One fan called it a masterclass, gushing that “Alan Ritchson is a class act.”

The contrast did Gibson zero favors, especially stacked against his decades-long history of alleged bigoted remarks, from antisemitic slurs to a leaked 2010 tirade. One Bluesky user summed up the mood: “Being a misogynistic racist wasn’t enough” for him to stop, apparently.

Meanwhile, fans reportedly paid $175 for a photo op with the man of the hour that same weekend.

Which is its own punchline, especially for a man about to release a movie titled The Resurrection of the Christ. As one commenter summed it up: “How very Christian of him.”

Gibson has actually issued an apology. “Sometimes when you get pushed out on a stage in a spotlight your mind is all over the place, and sometimes spontaneous thoughtless idiocy is displayed,” he said. “There was no intended maliciousness attached, and I certainly apologize to anyone who was upset by it.”

Some of his earliest culinary memories are of cooking alongside his sitto (grandmother) in Detroit, where she taught him that feeding people was an expression of love, faith and family. That philosophy followed him from his family’s gas station café in California, where he started with a deep fryer and chicken and fries, to restaurants, molecular cuisine, and a career that has taken him around the world.

Today, that same spirit is at the heart of This Is Fire, the OFTV cooking competition where Chef Jojo mentors amateur chefs through intense culinary challenges while encouraging them to embrace failure, have fun, and discover what they’re capable of. For him, winning isn’t simply about the competition; it’s about giving contestants the confidence to cook, create, and bring people together around the dinner table.

With 10 seasons of This Is Fire under his belt, Chef Jojo talks about the lessons his sitto taught him, the science and patience behind his cooking, why he refuses to let competition overshadow compassion, some of the show’s most memorable culinary disasters, and his dream of eventually traveling the world to feed the people who need it most.

Some of your earliest memories of cooking are with your sitto in Detroit. What do you remember most about those early days in the kitchen with her?

Everything. It was the memories that hold me to constantly remember to put others first, and those memories are always making sure everyone in the family is taken care of, making sure that everybody is- how do I say it? Nourished – through just faith and food. And those are the memories, while she was cooking she was talking about how much she loved this ingredient, how much she loved making bread in the morning, how much she loved when she would give me garden shears and a basket to go get zucchini and tomatoes from the garden in the morning.

I know your family ran a gas station with a cafe, and that’s where you started your culinary journey. Did you always know you wanted to make cooking your career?

We’re from Detroit. We had bodegas but we were always cooking at home and doing things my family grew up doing, living in Syria. Roasting lamb, growing grapes, breaking down goats and those kinds of things. The bodega really just set it off for me because we started with a deep fryer and made French fries and fried chicken for all the workers on the farm on their lunch breaks…this all occurred in California. We started there and it felt so good to use the fryer. Later, we got a griddle top and then a pizza oven, and then we soon bought a cafe. There we were modernizing American food with Mediterranean flavors, making peanut butter burgers, club sandwiches and BLTs. Then we bought a steakhouse and it was all open fire cooking, and we really got to bring what we do every day at home. 

American food was a treat for me. Mediterranean food is what we ate every day, all day, layering flavors with toasting, seasonings and stuff like that. But when I got to have American food, it really just blew my mind. I knew at a young age, when I was watching Emeril on TV, that I loved what he did. I knew that I was going to be able to combine everything in my world – I’m a skater, snowboarder, an extremist. I love low rider cars and I love doing extreme things. I just knew at a young age I was going to be able to incorporate all of these things and just be me.

What did you learn from those early jobs about cooking and about working in a family business?

What I learned in the early stages of just cooking was taking your time and being patient. Nothing was fast, nothing was easy. A simple tomato can be amazing. Do not throw away the seeds. Save the juices, the skin. We really saved everything. Patience and longevity were things that I learned at a very young age before working in the kitchens and being professionally trained and using what I was self-taught, which is what I learned from my family.

How did growing up in a family business shape the way that you approach food, hospitality and entrepreneurship today?

Growing up in the family business definitely taught me just that hard work pays off – and it doesn’t matter if you are educated, but it does help. If you have determination and a passion for something and it makes you happy, you’ve just got to work hard at it. That literally trickled down to what I do today. I get put in front of all these tech things and these AI things, and even going onto social media and all this stuff, it’s like I still am old school. I barely know how to use it all, but I know how to use my hands, and I know how to use my heart and the energy I want people to feel. And I just work hard. I still grab a broom, still wash some dishes, but still can cook a dish from scratch all the way up to a molecular dish that will change your perspective. It’s just hard work and dedication. It’s the work that I learned, that I watched my family do.

You alluded to it earlier and it was in your bio video about molecular cuisine. What is it about the science and experimentation of cooking that continues to interest you?

The development of it, the cleanness, the educational part as far as learning sugars and where we could take food and morphing it. Understanding that when certain seasons that come into play, you’re going to get different tastes from tomatoes, apples and grapes, the things I’ve been talking about. You’re going to have different perspectives on it as far as when you understand seasonal ingredients and what you could when the science comes in. Again, that’s patience. What I learned from the moleculars, it’s just pure patience. It’s never rushed food. It’s sometimes up to months of fermentation to get that one bite, to have that guest say, “Hey, I’ve never had this before.” So that’s why we do it.

How would you describe your culinary philosophy today, and how much of it can be traced back to your roots?

My culinary philosophy today is definitely do more for others. My brand is built off the concept of being selfless and not selfish, to never have an ego and have humility, to understand that the people around the world need to be fed at all levels. It doesn’t matter where you cooked, where you’ve been trained, as long as you are doing more for others and using the beautiful gift that has been given to you to understand food at whatever level, that’s the most important part.

What is one lesson about cooking that took you years to learn but you wish that you had understood when you first got started?

Oh, man. I’m still learning. I’m never not a student. Every day I’m still finding out new and better ways to break down a fish and understand that fish. I think fish butchery was definitely one of them. To understand and break down and understand how to use the bones and understand, from a stock to a broth and then also to create farces (a seasoned paste or purée of minced fish) and mousses with the scraps, and to utilize everything versus poultry and red meat and all those other animals that give their lives for us to eat. But fish is a very delicate, beautiful animal that we should not take for granted and be very soft with it. So, I would say fish for me, for sure.

How did This Is Fire come about and what made you want to take on a cooking competition format?

This is Fire came about from a beautiful, individual named Justin Schoenrock. He was doing some stuff for OFTV. It was the pandemic. He was doing some IRL work. He found me through the grapevine of some people he knew, and he came over to my house. Usually, they have to plan things and make it look like crazy good TV, but with me, he just was blown away. He asked me, “You cook like this every day? You go you go to the skate park with your kids every day? You work on your lowrider car every day? What’s going on?” It was too much dopamine for him to try to understand.

And the way I did my cooking segment for him, he was just like, “One of these days, man it’d be really cool to…have you ever thought about being a TV host?” I’d always thought about it, but my life was busy. I’m all over the country and world, flying all over with musicians and people that own massive companies and doing these Michelin star events around the world that I didn’t even know if I would ever be able to entertain that. But I was definitely interested because I’d thought about it as a child, and with OFTV and my belief system, I was never afraid to go anywhere. Wherever my Lord takes me, I’m right there. So, it happened to be with an amazing network that does so much for not just creators but gives you that creative freedom – and that was the main thing with me is as somebody who’s super creative, I wanted to create a relationship with an amazing company and a group of creative individuals, and OFTV gave me that opportunity to reach that entirely different audience who can watch it.

What’s cool about OFTV is that you can watch for free and there’s everything from cooking to comedy, fitness and music. It’s just everything. That’s pretty special. And they’ve trusted me – or trusted us as a group. It has evolved from 12 people, now it’s to 60 people – a full-blown production. From season one to season 10, it has changed so much, and it keeps evolving, and it’s not “How can we get bigger and bigger?” It’s not what we think at all. We really want everybody that comes on the show to win. I want them to feel something, that they could put their mind to anything, and that they are so loved and appreciated. And we love OFTV for allowing us to lead with that. We want nothing from them. We want everything for them. They’re great people.

Obviously, there are a lot of cooking competition shows on TV. What do you think makes This is Fire stand out from those other shows?

I really think the show stands out in its own dynamic because every season feels like a Super Bowl. It’s super intense and we spend months and months developing recipes and things that will allow [the contestants] to get hands-on and showcase themselves in a different way. I really feel that with a lot of cooking shows it’s very scripted, and this one’s not. It’s very non-scripted. I never know who’s going to win and people definitely get upset with that, they always think that I already know who’s going to win, but I don’t.

They don’t understand that someone can come in super confident and be crushing a dish, crushing their techniques, and then something could happen at the very end, and they just didn’t make it, versus somebody who looks all over the place, and I’m freaking out with them. I help them as much as I can as far as being the guidance that I can give on this 30-minute episode. I’m like, “Oh, I don’t know if they’re going to make it. They’re not listening. They’re not applying it.” And then all of a sudden they have the best dish and they move on and/or they win the entire season. It has blown my mind as far as what this show is. Everything is beautiful and cinematically shot. The contestants are raw. We are a very a chef-driven show. We are not like as far as, like I say, faking it to make it. We are culinary consultants by day. The production team is shooting things and winning Emmys by day and we’re all coming together to create something fun that the world has never seen before. That’s why I love This is Fire.

Unlike some other shows, your kitchen is competitive, but you also make a point of being supportive and mentoring these amateur chefs. Why is creating that kind of environment important to you?

Because I grew up with it, right? Being mentored by chefs, being mentored by my family, being mentored by friends. I’ll even put it this way – you know with your mom and dad, you’re like “Yeah, okay Dad, I hear you,” but then when your friend’s mom and dad says something you’re like, “Oh, I understand.” Like a mentor, right? That it when it finally clicks in your head and you apply it in life, that is the next step.

The formula that we created for the show was like, let’s lead them to be great and to cook at home, cook for their friends and invite people over, because I believe everything happens at the dinner table. It doesn’t matter what kind of day you had, what you’re going through. You never know what that individual’s going through, but that one bite of food and that love you put into it could really change your day, and that was the goal. Win or lose, you still won in our book because it’s not easy doing what they do.

Is there a moment from the show that has surprised you or stayed with you more than you expected?

There are so many. I can’t even… I definitely think season one was something I think about all the time. And now it’s been ten seasons in four years, and it’s like you hold all these memories. There are specific ones of people burning things and comedians on set like Adam22, that dude made me laugh so hard. I always laugh with the guys because they’re comedians.

The girls, they’re just, running around, having fun. They act like they don’t know what they’re doing, but they really do. They play the part really well. Women are extremely smart and they surprise themselves. Gal Ritchie and a bunch of other contestants, like Chef Melissa [Stratton] and Chef Luna [Star], were crying their eyes out when they won. And there are those moments of “I did it. I really did it.” When Girthmaster won, he was so proud. He couldn’t wait to tell his family. He couldn’t wait to tell his mom – and that right there is that’s what it’s for, to show that, “I can do anything.”

I had interviewed Nathan Webb way back in season one, and one of the things we talked about was Stevan’s Old Bay chicken Parmesan travesty. What is the most egregious culinary error you’ve seen on the show?

Raw chicken, raw foods…they’ll focus on the one thing that they’re not supposed to focus on the entire time, and they’ll end up just dropping the ball. Adam22 cutting his quesadilla on the pan with the Teflon. That was awesome. One time, I think it was season two, I was incorporating sous vide cooking and vacuum sealing and then how to strain a puree. I remember Chef Nikki Benz spent the whole time steaming this beautiful cauliflower and then I was guiding her on how to strain twice and chinois is what we call it. And she was pushing the spatula, the chinois, the sauce, and she was seriously almost there, but time was running out. She freaked out and just dumped it all on the plate – all the brine and everything. It still tasted good, but it wasn’t the smooth puree I was looking for. But I just remember that moment of oh my God, she’s understanding it, she’s listening. She’s about to literally take this technique home, and then she’s “No, I’m good.” It’s just little stuff like that.

What do you hope people will take away from watching This is Fire beyond simply learning how to cook?

As far as what I want people to take from it is don’t think that cooking is intimidating, don’t think that you can’t do it at home, don’t think that you can’t eat healthy at home, don’t think that you can’t go grab something and fail at it 100 times. You are destined for greatness. You were made to be great, and I really think cooking challenges the brain in ways that others don’t understand.

I’m really hoping that This is Fire challenges everybody that’s watching to cook at home. Hang out with your family. Call some friends over. Get off the phone for a little bit. Put the cooking show on TV and literally laugh. When me and my kids watch it, we laugh our asses off and they bet on who’s going to win – and that’s the fun part. We want people to smile through this. We don’t want anybody to think anything different because everybody is made to be amazing and we want people to feel amazing at home.

After everything you’ve accomplished personally, is there still a culinary challenge or a dream that you haven’t tackled yet?

Oh, yeah. So many. One of my friends and idols in this world is Chef José Andrés, and he’s a big inspiration in my life – watching him go around the world and speaking to all his chefs throughout the days and years and how they’re all ride or die with him. I just want to feed the world one day. I want to travel and feed the world that needs it, not the rich and famous all the time. I enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong. They love and trust me with a lot, but I would really love to get places and pay respects to that underdog, the people that are picking our food every single day and take care of them because they deserve it. That is my dream. Would I love to win a Michelin star? Absolutely. Would I love to get my James Beard? Absolutely. But I’m not driven through awards. I’m driven through experiences and memories and OFTV and Creative Dynamic and, Healthification Restaurant Group. They all have been able to believe in me to listen and achieve these beautiful menus and this beautiful show to help get further and further in achieving that goal. Let’s put it this way, I get surprised all the time.
