Episode 12: The Art Of Fashion

Challenge: Create A Design Using The Getty Center As Inspiration.

Favorite Designer(s): None

Least Favorite(s): Althea

Winnners: Finally 3 = Carol Hannah, Althea, Irina

Competition Over For: Gordana, Christopher

Yeahs::

Tim told Irina her outfit looked like road kill. She needed a little humbling.
Loved Christopher's top of outfit but the bottom was to heavy and stiff. He had the right idea.
Gordana's was gorgeous but the top of the bodice was a little stiff.

Nays::

Cat fighting: Irina accused Althea last episode of stealing her big sweater idea. The show starts off with tension from the accusation. In general, lots of tension and bashing among the woman.
Althea's skirt looked a little stiff and the top was to loose. Judges said her outfit was executed badly and looked like a mess. She received the worst complements and yet they kept her for the final 3.
Carol Hannah's was sewn beautifully but I did not like the color. It was very promish.

Episode 11: The Best Of The Best

Challenge: Create a companion piece for your best look.

Favorite Designer(s): Althea

Least Favorite(s): Logan

Yeahs::

I loved Heidi's opening outfit. The dress was gorgeous!
Carol Hannah's was a cute cocktail dress, but the top looked a little loose.
Althea's sweater! I'd definitely wear it. I'm not sure I'd wear the pants but all in all the outfit was stylish and very wearable.
Irina's sweater jacket came in second to Althea's. I like sweater jackets.

Nays::

Heidi's outfit for the runway. I don't like shiny elbow patches.
Logan's was just bad. It was described as very Judy Jetson ... I agree.
Christopher's, I liked the ruffles/texture but something was off. The levels of texture didn't blend well. He had the right idea, but execution was off. I bet with more time he would have wowed.

Yeahs ::

Nicholas chooses Greece to challenge himself. I love this attitude.
Carol Hannah beautiful but the design has been done many times.
Tim tells Nicholas his "work was beautifully executed ...", I agree Tim.
I would have worn Nicholas', it was my fave after all.

Nays ::

Irina complains that everyone is cracking jokes ... she is such a downer!
Irina trashes Christopher.
Logan's, nice tailoring but boring. I thought for sure he would be going home.
Irina's was to brown. I like brown, but that was over kill on the camel color.
Christopher was my fave in the beginning. Now he seems to be going down. I hope he starts getting back on top. I don't want to see him go yet.

Yeahs ::

Nicholas's positive attitude. He was so excited to do this challenge.
Logan compliments Carol Hannah making her giddy and flirty.
Everyone acting goofy.
Nicholas calls Irina a b!tch.
Nicholas's feathers looked awesome.
Christopher's outer piece was borderline steampunk. I loved it.
I liked the top of Shirin's dress.
Althea created a beautiful pattern.

Nays ::

Irina bashing Shirin ... again!
Shirin was struggling. She doesn't do to well under pressure.
Sequins and sequins. Oh, I so don't like sequins.
I didn't care for Carol Hannahs. It was ok, but not win worthy.

Yeahs ::

Last challenge for Immunity - Game on!
Nicholas's facial expressions while he was talking to his "divorcee". He was cracking me up.
Irinna's dye job. Loved the color but not so much all the lace.
Gordana's texture was amazing.
Shirin's stitching.

Nays ::

Ugly wedding dresses!
1 day challenge.
Shirin was very discouraged. I thought she'd choke.
Logan frantic. I wanted him to pull it together, afraid of him going home.
Tim was constantly referring to the models as "the divorcees". Sounded kind of condescending.
Did not agree with the judges comments about Epperson's dress.
Logan's fit was way off. His outfit was a little lop sided. I thought he was going home with his terrible sewing job.

Yeahs ::

Designers worked in teams of twos ... Christopher/Epperson, Carol Hannah/Shirin, Althea/Logan, Louise/Nicholas.
Irina is an awesome sketch artist.
I enjoyed seeing Christopher and Epperson teamed up. They were my fave designers from last week.
Carol Hannah and Shirin created a very wearable and stylish look. I loved the top on the tunic.

Nays ::

Designers teamed up: worst pair ... Irina/Gordana. I'm almost positive that anyone who pairs with Irina will come across difficulty. That lady has people issues.
Louise's stupid ruffles again. Am I remembering wrong, or does she do ruffles for every outfit? How did she get on the show with all the ruffly collars she produces?
Why were the judges blaming Nicholas for the ruffles? It was Louise's designs that got picked. He was only the assistant that was supposed to help create them. I was getting annoyed when Heidi repeatedly reminded him that he was lucky to have immunity.
What was with the young blonde judge? Can't remember her name, but I remember her prissy looks. She always made these stuck up faces when she looked at the designers. Did not like her.

Yeahs ::

The make-up rocked!
Carol Hannah's reminded me of a hot superhero.
Christian's rocked as always, Victorian hot!
Epperson, his best yet.
Nicholas liked the top but the rest didn't look so hot on tv. In the picture above, it looks pretty good.

Nays ::

Ra'mon struggled, with 2 hours left he had to re-create his look. In the end, it looked like a scaly mess. Sad to see him leave.
Designers were more stressed than usual.
Althea's, to plain compared to the other looks.
Louise's, a mess of fabric.
Logan's, not bad but not great either.

New Lotta At Borders

Spotted on Border's shelf, Lotta's Printing Studio. It's a small kit that looks like a companion to Lotta Prints. The kit includes 2 carving knives, 2 printing sponges, 6 stencils (already cut) drawn by Lotta, and a 48 page booklet full of projects. This booklet includes highlights from Lotta Prints and some new projects.

Material- newspaper. I love seeing what the designers create with these crazy challenges.
Designers could use muslin as long as it doesn't show.
Johnny whined to the judges that his first dress was ruined and he had to make a new one. He told the judges the dress was very Dior. Nicholas called him out in front of the judges. Told the judges that it wasn't no Dior and what Tim thought about it. Tim called it a bad craft project.
Actually outfits that looked like they were made with fabric: Ra'mon's, Epperson's, Logan's, Althea's, Christopher's, Irina's

Nays ::

Some of the designers bashed Shirin for talking a lot while she creates.
Johnny tore up his dress because Tim didn't like it. Then he made up a lie as to why he got rid of the dress.
Irina's nemesis, Althea. Jealous a little?
Louise's collar, again. What's with all these ugly collars she keeps making?
Nicholas talked major smack about Johnny's dress. But the judges told Nicholas that his dress looked like an insect. His wasn't much better.

Christopher admits the judges might not go for Epperson's dress, but he recognizes the style and gives him some props.
Epperson's dress rocked.
Carol Hannah's dress was fab, but the top stood out to me. I loved the top portion.

Nays ::

Irina trashing Althea's 3 piece outfit.
Logan's shiny (silver?) tight pants.
Nicholas's dress didn't fit right on the top. To loose.
Louise's puffy collar.
Ra'mon's huge flower. I'm so not a fan of huge flowers or bows.

The bomb: create a 2nd avante-garde look.
Terrible match ups: Epperson and Qristal, Mitchell and Ra'mon.
Model drama: Carol Hannah's dropped out right before fitting.
Garnier, bad product placement.
Oooo, Qristal your a little mean.
