July 28-30, 2017 | Washington, D.C.

No Fear ~ No Shame ~ No Hiding -
Just Celebrating Our Truth

ABOUT THIS CONFERENCE

Let's Mobilize Events' 2016 Masculine of Center (MOC) Conference is the unboxing of the MOC narrative. The weekend will consist of all facets of the other side of the identity narrative.

What is Masculine of Center
Masculine of center (MOC) is a term, coined by B. Cole of the Brown Boi Project. The term recognizes the breadth and depth of identity for lesbian/queer who tilt toward the masculine side of the scale. It includes a wide range of identities such as butch, stud, aggressive/AG, dom, macha, tomboi, trans-masculine, androgynous, etc.

Conference Goals
Butch, Stud, Boi, Trans-Masculine, Androgynous, etc - we are all a community. And it's time to celebrate all of the intersections and discuss what is important!

Empower and affirm our differences while embracing our common goals
Discuss the concerns and issues, while prioritizing what matters in the community
Learning how to embrace all intersection in which we live and thrive and connect with the family that defines the community
Learn how to stand firm against prejudice while walking in truth in the full light of day in all capacities of life.

Conference Theme:
Let's Mobilize - Know Your Truth

Today's political environment is in a state of flux, where members of the LGBTQ+ Community may have to battle not only previously won battles but battles that could potentially rock the very foundation of the LGBTQ+ Movement. Knowing Your Truth has now taken on a deeper meaning. Our truth is the very perception in which our lives are navigated and circumvented in the environment around us.

How far are we from a world of complete acceptance and tolerance? Are we equipped to mobilize to further our agendas? What are the barriers to the empowerment of our community? How accessible are the resources and can they assist in taking the community to the next level?

These questions will be explored through a mix of speakers, panel discussions, and workshops

We meet on the third Thursday of the month.

What is polyamory, you may ask! Polyamory is the practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved. This group is designed to be a forum for people at all different stages to discuss polyamory and other consensual non-monogamous relationships.

Newcomers will be given a basic introduction into what polyamory is and what some of the advantages and disadvantages are. Attendees who are already in relationships will be given the opportunity to discuss their situations and get advice from the group if they feel that would be helpful. This group is open to people of all sexual orientations and people who are interested in non-monogamy in both kinky and non-kinky relationships.
