Some people believe that music sets a mood within a room. With music on a audible volume being pumped out from track to track, an artist not only creates sound waves but can bring a lot to the unseen. An artist can bring joy, sadness, happiness, even anger. David Pavia holds an interesting flavour when it comes to producing music. As an indie artist, David has painted the canvas in quite a contrasting manner. Emotions are without shortage as he mixes elements that normally aren't supposed to mend together. "I've always loved Rock and Roll, first and foremost. My music is probably a little bit less loud than what's kind of contemporary and what a lot of people are listening to at the moment. To me, they were never really just about being loud, they were always about transmitting something, transmitting meaning." "Whether music is harder or softer is really kind of unimportant. It's just kind of inspires you, what comes through you."

Jory Rose is probably not the kind of person you'd think of when it comes to the indie stereotype. On the contrary, his musical style compliments professional acts, and there is no obvious difference in quality. This is what makes him unique. As an indie singer, fans adore him for possesing such a soulful, passionate voice. Some even compare his singing style to Tom Jones, and he definitely does fit the bill.

Sleek, and smooth. That's what ReDuX is in two words. Incorporating genres such as jazz with guitar riffing, their music is similar to a latin tango with a more contemporary taste. Creating a unique style from a high array of genres, and instrumentals, Bret and Eddie are definitely making music you can relate to in many ways. Phil recently talked to Bret and Eddie of ReDuX about their inspiration in creating their "Style pas comme les autres" -- Style unlike any other as well as their origins within Canadian Music itself.

SINGAPORE REBEL "Our intentions [are] basically to have a peaceful rally. We hope the police will co-operate... This is the right of every Singaporean..." We are privileged here to have our democratic rights honoured. Except for the occasional violent protest, all is peaceful in the West. So why should we worry about politics in the island state of Singapore? For Dr. Chee Soon Juan, an opposition leader, bankruptcy and jail were the answers to opposing the long-ruling People's Action Party. For so long, citizens have sacrified some of their freedoms in favour of economic benefits. This, according to Martyn See Tong Ming, filmaker of "Singapore Rebel". However, "Singapore Rebel" has been banned by a law in the asian city state for being 'partisan'. What is going on in this modern economic land? We have an interview with Mr. See. Phillip Hong reports.

Phillip Hong recently caught up with Mark Regula, the lead singer of this great group. And given the history these guys went through, this is no manufactured rock.
