President Obama’s Credibility on the Line in Honduras

As the agreement to resolve the crisis in Honduras breaks down, and Latin America insists on President Zelaya's restitution in order for the planned elections to be considered legitimate, CEPR Co-Director

October Jobs Byte

Unemployment climbed to 10.2 percent, crossing 10 percent for the first time in over a quarter century. The economy shed 190,000 jobs, but with upward revisions from the BLS for August and September, it is not clear that the rate of job loss is on the decline. Statement on Fannie Mae's Deed for Lease Program

CEPR Co-Director Dean Baker credited as an important step Fannie Mae's new program allowing foreclosed homeowners to stay in their homes as renters. Baker pointed out, though, that a Right to Rent plan would go further in providing housing security for millions and dealing with the foreclosure crisis.
