The new season of Bridgerton dropping on Netflix today reminded me that I never really posted about visiting Bath last March when we went home.

That trip back to the UK after five years meant squeezing a lot into just ten days, so as soon as we landed (and immediately hit up M&S for a meal deal – I still don’t understand why the US doesn’t really do sandwiches like the UK does, but I love a good meal deal!), we were straight on the move.

We stayed at the Gainsborough Hotel which was lovely, and managed to sneak in a massage and a visit to the spa pool before heading off to the next stop. Honestly a very good way to ease into the trip, helped along by a full English breakfast each morning! (I had definitely missed that!)

We were mostly in town visiting friends so didn’t really get much shopping time in, but I did manage a quick dash (literally, I ran across town while Alex was checking out!) across the city to Independent Spirit of Bath which is always a must-visit, especially if you’re looking for interesting gins for your collection.

It was also my first trip back to Bath since a certain very big TV show was filmed there, and it’s always slightly surreal watching Bridgerton and recognising places I’ve walked past more times than I can count. And like anyone who’s lived somewhere that gets used for filming, watching it with me comes with running commentary…
“that’s basically by Primark”
“you can’t actually walk down there”
and of course, “OMG the best cake is just around that corner”.

Bath might be my second-favourite Roman city, but if you’re thinking about a trip to the UK, it’s one you should definitely have on your list

I’m determined in 2026 to finally post things I’ve put off for ages, so why not start with a visit to Bend, OR back in 2022 and more specifically, visiting the last Blockbuster in the world

Like any good elder millennial, a trip to Blockbuster felt pretty special back in the 90s, and it genuinely delighted me that this little store about 5,000 miles from home had the same decor and layout I remembered from 30 years ago. It really does feel like stepping straight into a time capsule, even with the new releases on the shelves actually being new releases.

Possibly the most exciting part though is that now I’m an adult with actual money, I can actually afford the snacks for sale

If you’ve not already seen it, there’s a great documentary called The Last Blockbuster, which you can watch on Tubi, and if you ever find yourself in the area, it’s an absolute must-visit.

You know I love a throwback…

2016 was the final year we fully lived in the UK, even though we didn’t know it at the time.We gained a tiny pup (Jess), Alex bought the house we were renting (only to put it on the market nine months later when we moved to Seattle), and I actually posted to Instagram on a regular basis (mostly about the excellent lunches we ate – especially once Swoon opened and Deliveroo arrived in Bristol.)

All this chat about hockey lately reminded me that I still hadn’t posted about the inaugural Seattle Torrent game, and I’ve been meaning to share it!

ICYMI, this time last year, the PWHL held their first-ever takeover tour game in Seattle. The response was so good it helped convince the league to bring an expansion team to the Emerald City (and one to Vancouver too).

Fast forward to November, and the Seattle Torrent played their first home game at Climate Pledge Arena the day after Thanksgiving, to an almost sell-out crowd (although tbh it felt fuller than a lot of Kraken games I’ve been to). My little sister was visiting that week from the UK, partly because this game was happening and partly because she really wanted the gravy boat giveaway from the Kraken game a few days earlier, so Alex and I took her along. Between the company, the occasion, and the energy in the arena, it was such a special night. The whole place was just full of girl joy! Sadly they didn’t get the win (or a goal…everyone was so excited to find out what the goal song would be!) but it was still just the best time.

If you’ve never watched hockey before and want a place to start, the PWHL is a great place to start. Many games are at UK-friendly(ish) times, and every game is streamed for free on their YouTube channel (except for Canada, Czechia, and Slovakia for some reason).

I can’t wait to go to more games this season. Seattle girlies, this is an open invite if you’re looking for someone to go with

This might actually be one of the earliest New Year’s resolution posts I’ve written in a while! I’ve been trying over the last few months to be a bit more on top of posting, which hopefully improves this year as well.

In case you’re new around here, I like to start the year by writing my resolutions down and reviewing how I did the previous year. Not because January 1st magically fixes everything, but because it gives me a point to stop and think about what I want to achieve next (and how I can do that).

(6 again in 2025! I really do need to be better to post to the feed)

In 2025, I wanted to…

Cooking

This was something that ebbed and flowed. Some weeks, we were good at cooking interesting things (Alex has been doing a bit more cooking as well, which is much more fun than just me cooking), and some weeks…not really.
I’m hoping to get back into a healthier eating rhythm now we’re out of the holiday period, although raclette is still one of my favourite treat meals, because who doesn’t love covering snacky bits and veg in melted cheese?

Relationships

This was probably the hardest one to measure. I’m not sure I really did that well at this one, to be honest. I felt very aware of how easy it is to let time pass without reaching out (on either side).
I wouldn’t say this was unsuccessful – more that it reminded me relationships need consistency, not just good intentions.

Content

This one feels cautiously positive. I think I posted a little more than I had in previous years – not dramatically, and certainly not consistently – but enough that it didn’t feel completely stalled.

A lot of that energy went into change rather than output, though. I closed down Bonjour, Blogger! in April, but then slowly started up @creatoredit.co in November. I still love talking about how to do things on the internet, but things have definitely changed since I started BB in 2013 (and not just my own situation). @creatoredit.co is Instagram-first. I’ve bought the domain, but it’s just a placeholder at the moment. My aim with that account is to show people that it’s easy to make money with affiliate links and similar tools on Instagram and social media, especially if they don’t consider themselves influencers.

I also created a new account, @atoastwithout, to share the non-alcoholic drinks I love trying. It felt like a waste of taking photos just to post to Stories, and it’s much easier to send people to that profile when I’m making recommendations. (If you’re doing dry January, you might want to check that one out!)

In 2026, I want to:

Be more consistent with posting

Yes, I know. I say some version of this most years. But maybe this year will be different?
I feel like I’m getting into a better place with keeping track of the things I want to do and actually getting them done. I also need to remember that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Just because I’m not posting daily doesn’t mean I should disappear for three months.
At the moment, when I don’t post for ages, it feels like I’m starting from zero every time, which is silly. Just post the damn thing already.

Do more things (still slightly unsure about this one)

This one is intentionally vague, because I don’t want it to turn into a stick to beat myself with.
I think what I mean is: say yes a bit more, leave the house a bit more, try things even when they’re mildly inconvenient or outside my usual routine. Not everything. Not constantly. Just maybe a bit more than I currently do.
I’m happy to let this one define itself as the year goes on.

Eat more frogs (aka do the tasks I don’t want to do instead of putting them off all the time)

Way back in the day, we were shown a video in Business Studies class (and later as part of a training event when I worked at a chain restaurant) that explained the concept of “eat the frog”. The idea is that you do the thing you don’t want to do first, to get it out of the way.
(Weirdly enough, the video also talked about Pike Place Market, which was probably the first time I ever heard about this fish market where they throw the fish around!)
In my everyday life, there are lots of small, admin-y, slightly annoying tasks that I avoid, and then they sit in the background quietly stressing me out far more than they should. I want to get better at just doing the thing, even when I don’t feel like it.
tl;dr: Less avoidance. More “ugh, fine, it’s done”.

As ever, I make no promises that I’m going to keep to all of this, but I’m going to try, and writing it down is always a good place to start.

Are you a resolutions person, or a “January is just another month” person?

Want to see older resolutions posts? I’ve been writing these since 2009, and you can find them all here

If you’ve been following me here or on social media for a while, you’ll know that I believe every content creator should have their own website. I thought it was about time I actually wrote about this in a bit more detail to explain why I think this is so important, and if I can persuade more people to pick up their blog again, then it’s a total win for me!

I’m sure you’ve spent ages editing photos for an IG post and writing that caption so carefully, or you took the time to learn how to edit video and post a Reel or whatever only for it all to flop spectacularly. My own experience of this recently wasn’t great. I tried everything Instagram was pushing – the collage feature, trial Reels, every tip they shared – and got 100 views in a week. Gotta be honest, it was totally off-putting, especially since I’m not usually great at trying out video trends anyway.

That’s pretty much what caused me to sit down and start writing this post. We’re all spending so much time creating content for platforms that we have no control or ownership over, and it can all be for nothing. Spending hours to create content for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube is fine but if they go away tomorrow, what do you have left? If your account gets banned, or the platform closes down, where did your hard work go?

I’m not saying to completely ditch all social media – in fact, I’ve been using social media to keep this blog a little more updated than it was before I set up a plugin! – but I do think that influencers should be looking to build up their home base and use their blog as a content hub to point people to, so if someone doesn’t follow you on TikTok, they’re not going to miss out on anything you’ve created.

“Does anyone even read blogs any more?”

Hmm.

I think they do, just not as much as they used to, because it’s less convenient now. Remember back when we used to all use Bloglovin (and before that Google Reader – RIP, forever in our hearts) to subscribe to each others blogs? It made it so easy to keep up to date. When those platforms shut down or faded away, everyone was starting to move over to Instagram, and the combination meant that a lot of people stopped updating their sites.

But now, more than ever, blogs are useful. Most of the time when you’re googling for a recipe, or best clear bags to take to a hockey game, or where’s the best roast dinner in Seattle, Instagram and Tiktok results might show up in those results, but most of the time you’re going to end up on a blog post.

I’ve been blogging for 25 years, so yes, I’m probably biased on how good blogs are. Maybe it’s an elder millennial thing, but I find it easier to read long IG captions on my laptop rather than my phone (but I’ll happily catch up on blog posts and even read my Kindle on my phone. I didn’t say it made sense.)

Last year I downloaded my entire Instagram archive – all the way back to 2009 when I first opened my account! – and after a bit of faffing, I uploaded it all into WordPress. I don’t want to lose all of my old posts (even the ones with the dodgy old filters and frames we loved!) but I did want to clean up my Instagram feed so I went through and archived a ton of posts.

Now I use a plugin to import any new Instagram posts over here – it’s not perfect, and I usually end up tidying things up afterwards but it’s better than nothing. (WordPress will actually send new posts from the blog over to Instagram as a new feed post, which is a little annoying because then you end up with duplicates!). One benefit of this though is that if I share an outfit on Instagram, having the post automatically import into WordPress means I can add widgets or affiliate links to everything mentioned so it’s all in one place. If someone’s googling something from that post, everythings right there for them to click without having to open up another app.

I’ve seen some of my blogging friends move to newsletters, which is still better than long captions on Instagram, but it’s still someone elses platform. You can’t control the content that appears next to yours – which is a big reason why I don’t recommend Substack. (If you’d like to learn more about why Substack isn’t the best choice for your online home, I really recommend visiting LeaveSubstack.com, which has all the details going back years)

You can set up WordPress (or whatever platform you choose) to email subscribers when new posts go up, or you could sign up to something like beehiiv – which is what I use for my rarely updated newsletter – and share links to your latest posts every week or so.

If you’ve read this far, I hope I’ve convinced you to at least consider blogging again – I just think it’s important that if you’re relying on creating content to make money that you should have a space you fully own to keep your content safe and accessible.. The platforms will keep changing, but your blog can stay your cosy home on the internet if you want it to. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and if you already have a blog, then share the link in the comments!

I realised recently that the blog post that I link to at the top of every post here that includes affiliate links was on Bonjour, Blogger! which is currently on hiatus (and to be fair, the post was probably a bit outdated by now because I think I wrote it in 2015!) and prior to that, I wrote about affiliate linking on this blog way back in 2011, so definitely time for an update, and I thought why not go a little more in depth this time so you fully understand how affiliate linking works (or you can totally skip this if you’re not interested!)

If you’ve ever seen a blogger or influencer share a link to Amazon on their stories, or tell you to check out their summer picks on their LTK, chances are that you’ve come across an affiliate link.

An affiliate link is a special way for a retailers website to know who sent the shopper their way – its like a referral scheme. If the shopper buys something (and it doesn’t have to be the exact item that was linked – but I’ll go into that bit later!) then the retailer may send the referrer a small commission at no extra cost to the shopper.

How Do Affiliate Links Work?

When you click an affiliate link, it doesn’t just take you to the item a creator mentioned – it also carries a tiny bit of extra information that tells the shop who sent you there. Sometimes that tracking is built right into the link itself (you might spot something like
?ref=hayley
or
?tag=creatorname-21
at the end of the URL), and sometimes, once the page loads, a small file called a cookie is saved to your browser. That cookie acts like a short-term memory for the shop, letting them know which creator referred you for a set period of time – usually anywhere from a few hours to 30 days. No personal data is stored in the cookie, and I don’t see what you actually purchased if you use one of my links – all I can see is which of my links that you clicked to get there! If you return anything, then the affiliate commission is reversed, which is why most pay out periods will be 90+ days.

Something that isn’t always mentioned when talking about affiliate links is that the last click “wins” the referral – for example, you are watching Instagram stories, and click one Amazon referral link from influencer A, then you click a different Amazon referral link from influencer B, then make a purchase, influencer B would get the referral payout, even if you actually ended up buying the item that influencer A linked to. This is actually what the controversy around the Honey coupon browser extension is all about – many influencers promoting Honey didn’t realise that when a shopper clicked the button to find coupon codes, the extension was quietly dropping its own cookie – overwriting previous affiliate links so Honey collected the commission instead of the creators.

Using an affiliate link should not cost the shopper any more than the listed price – the commission the creator earns would normally come from the brands marketing budget.

Why I Use Affiliate Links

Most of the time, when you see me share an affiliate link, it’s because I’m talking about something I own, use, or would recommend to a friend. For me, affiliate links are a nice bonus to include in a post instead of a full on strategy. I don’t actively chase commissions, or do things like Amazon live videos, but if I’m already sharing something that I love anyway, I might as well include an affiliate link to potentially make a few pennies.

To put it into perspective, most affiliate commissions are tiny. For example, the current rate for a book on Amazon is 4.5%, so if you buy a £10 book, then I would earn 45p. I know, absolute riches. At the moment, I am mostly using Collective Voice, ShopMy and Amazon. (Collective Voice and ShopMy basically do the same thing, so I’m trying to figure out which one I like better – if you have any thoughts on that, let me know!)

How To Spot An Affiliate Link

OK, so you’re happily browsing along on the web and you see a link – how do you know that the link is an affiliate link? First – at least in theory – the link is clearly defined as an affiliate link. As I’ll explain below, this is a legal requirement (at least in the US and UK), but I’m sure you can think of times the disclosure is missing or very well hidden!

Thankfully, there are other ways to identify affiliate links from the URL’s used. Below I’ve listed the main platforms you’re likely to see when browsing fashion, beauty and lifestyle content, as well as what URL structures they use, so even if the link isn’t disclosed, you’ll still be able to tell if it’s an affiliate link

Affiliate Platform

Link Structure

Notes

Amazon Associates

The link will include ?tag=XXX where XXX is the influencers specific code (so for me, that would be &tag=ceriselle0e-20)

Amazon does offer a shortlink structure, so the URL will appear as amazon.to, which will redirect to the long URL where you can see the tag

Collective Voice (formerly known as Shopstyle Collective)

shopstyle.it

LTK
(formerly known as rewardStyle, or LikeToKnow. It)

rstyle.me
liketk.it

ShopMy

shopmy.us

AWIN (also known as Affiliate Window)

awin1.com
shareasale.com
dwin1.com

CJ Affiliate (formerly Commission Junction)

anrdoezrs.net
dpbolvw.net
kqzyfj.com
tkqlhce.com
jdoqocy.com
qksrv.net
ftjcfx.com
lduhtrp.net
tqlkg.com

CJ Affiliate domains are random letters, and then after the domain, it will have something like “/click-xxxx-xxxx”.

Impact Radius

trackingdomain.net
pxf.io
sjv.io
eqjw.net
7eer.net
ojrq.net
audw.net
pvxt.net
snlv.net
hmxg.net

Impact also does the random domains, the brand that the link relates to will usually be before the domain (e.g. brand.pxf.io)

MagicLinks

magik.ly

Rakuten Advertising (also known as Linkshare)

linksynergy.com
rakutenadvertising.com
rakutenmarketing.com
click.linksynergy.com
click.linksynergy.net

Skimlinks

go.skimlinks.com
go.redirectingat.com
skimresources.com

Sovrn//Commerce (VigLink)

viglink.com
redirect.viglink.com
affiliate.viglink.com
commerce.sovrn.com

Disclosure

If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll know I’m pretty keen on disclosure in blogging and influencing. (I’ve even given talks about it at conferences) . I think it’s important for the reader to know what’s going on, so they can make the decision whether to interact with the content. By not giving the reader all the information about why you’ve included that link, it just feels a bit sneaky.

The way that I disclose on the blog is with a block of text at the top – actually the reason I’m writing this post! If the post contains affiliate links (like my recent post about clear bags for sports events) then the following block appears at the top of the post:

This post contains affiliate links – if you click the link and make a purchase of any kind from that website within a certain time, I will receive a percentage of that purchase. This should not affect the price that you pay.
If you would like to learn more about how affiliate links work, please head over to this post and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

If I use an affiliate link on Instagram Stories or Threads (or whatever other social media platform we use in the future!) then I will mark clearly that its an affiliate link (usually by writing “affiliate link” right next to it, just to make sure theres no confusion there.

In the US, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that any time that an influencer has a financial, employment, personal or family relationship with a brand that it should be disclosed – so for affiliate links, there is obviously the financial relationship. The disclosure must be placed so it’s hard to miss, so that’s why I put the disclosure at the top of the post, or a notification next to the link on social media. In the UK, it’s pretty similar – the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and CAP (Committee of Advertising Practice) Code have similar rules, the disclosure should be clear and obvious and easy to understand.

I think that’s about everything! But if there’s something I’ve missed or you still have questions, feel free to leave a comment – if you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll know that I love chatting about this kind of thing! And if you’ve ever used one of my affiliate links, thank you so much – your support genuinely helps keep this space running and allows me to keep creating the kind of posts you enjoy reading. Every bit of engagement helps more than you’d think.

If you found this post helpful, feel free to share it with a friend who’s ever asked “what even is an affiliate link?”

The NHL season started back against this week (and the Kraken won the first game of the season for the first time in franchise history!), the local baseball team just advanced to the next round last night (I have no idea what baseball is about, but go Mariners!), and the NFL is back (absolutely have no idea on that one) so I thought I’d share some of my favourite clear bags with you so you can take your stuff into the arena without trying to squish it all into your pockets.

The sizes of these bags (according to their product pages) meet the requirements for the following arenas at the time of posting, but you should always double check the details yourself – links below are to the relevant bag policies:

Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle Kraken, PWHL Seattle and Seattle Storm) – CPA actually just updated their bag policy hours before the Kraken season opener (which I absolutely have opinions on) and now you don’t need a clear bag but all bags (including clear ones) that are bigger than the 4″ x 6″ x 1.5″ wristlet allowed have to be x-rayed. Yes, including clear bags where you can see all the contents easily. I’m still going to use my clear bag just to make it easier because then I have to pack that bag for the evening and can make sure I’m not accidentally leaving anything in my bag that can’t go in, but it is still a weird choice to make.

Lumen Field (Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders and Seattle Reign)

T-Mobile Park (Seattle Mariners)

My absolute favourite clear bag (as seen above!) is by Kate Gabrielle, but sadly she has had to make the decision to stop making these purses, because there are too many dupes being made by Temu, etc, which is a great reminder to try to support the actual designers rather than the knockoffs if you can. I’m loving this bag for going to Climate Pledge Arena because half of it is open so you can keep your drinks bottle in there (or in this case, a big can of Blue Moon so I don’t have to carry it as well as all the good food I bought!) and then the other half is a normal purse with a flap over so your stuff doesn’t fall out. The strap that came with it was removable so I’ve been looking at other straps to replace it with – current favourite is a sparkly one because, well, it’s me, of course it’s sparkly.

Target has a surprisingly good collection of clear bags under their own brands, which makes it more likely that you’ll find one in your local store. If you’ve just been invited to a game and are now panicking about how to hold all your crap, your best bet is to do a Target run on the way there!

We’ve toured Climate Pledge Arena twice now, and it turns out it’s more than a hockey arena!

My sister didn’t visit the US between 1998 and 2022, and when we finally got her out here, we took her straight from an 11-hour flight to a Kraken game and created a hockey-loving monster. She’s been back every six months since, so we’ve done most of the usual touristy things. The CPA tours have been a favourite though, we’ve done both a game day and non-game day tour for a good mix.

Each tour follows a slightly different route. The game day one was shorter because some areas were restricted, but we still saw plenty of rarely seen spaces (did you know Climate Pledge Arena has its own recording studio?) and we went from the depths of the arena right up top to the press bridge (how fun would it be to watch a game up there!)

On the non-game day tour, we were able to sit on the Kraken bench and walk down the corridor the players use. We couldn’t go into the locker room since it was still hockey season, but we did get to peek inside.

The WNBA season wasn’t in session when we visited, so we went in their locker room and also saw where the future NBA locker room will be for when Seattle gets a team again. That tour wrapped up in the owners’ suite, an incredible spot to watch a game (Alex and I saw the Foo Fighters from another suite & it was amazing!)

I really liked how much the guides tied everything back to the sustainability of the property. CPA is the world’s first net-zero carbon arena – they use rainwater from the roof to make the ice, they’ve banned single-use plastics, and even the food is sourced locally. It makes the tours feel like more than just trivia, you can see how a venue this size can be part of the bigger conversation on climate.

This got a bit long, but if you’re a fan of any of our teams that play there (and that includes the PWHL team who will be playing there in their inaugural season coming up!) then its a fun way to spend a few hours

If you had the choice, would you go for the game day tour or the non-game day one?

Had to break my no-feed streak for this one…

Yesterday we headed over to Little Beast in Ballard for a roast dinner – I have not been able to find anywhere in the Seattle area that does a roast in the 8 years we’ve been here, and for some reason I haven’t had a roast either of the times we’ve been back to the UK, so as you can imagine, this was pretty exciting!

I don’t do roast pork at home, partly because we never really had it growing up and partly because I could never do such beautiful crackling (which let’s face it, is the best part) so I was even happier to see this on the menu with roast beef (which looked so good, but there was no way I was sharing the #porks goodness). The roasts came with enormous Yorkshire puddings (and yes, we totally ordered more because who doesn’t love Yorkshires? Monsters, that’s who), peas, roast potato, and cabbage.

We also ordered Scotch eggs (a favorite in this house, I have made duck ones before which were epic but they are so much work, so I appreciate when I can buy them!), a delicious tomato salad, and some grilled bread with herby butter…everything was so good! I was so full by the end that I wasn’t too sad that the dessert I chose had run out, but the Eton Mess everyone else had looked great (and I’m now thinking about making meringue to do my own next week!)

Drinks-wise, I had a Pimms (which had ginger in, not something I have done before because I’m basic and just do it with Sprite, but it was good!) and Alex had an Old Speckled Hen which is a UK beer that I’ve not seen over here before!

One of the things I really dislike about the US is how British food gets unfairly labeled as bland and boring, but Little Beast proves that even “simple” food can be incredibly delicious.

I posted about this on my IG stories recently but felt like it deserved a more permanent memorial on the blog since it was such a big part of my life! I made the decision earlier this year to close down Bonjour, Blogger!after 12 years because I just wasn’t giving it the love it deserved and I’m in a totally different place – both creatively and physically! – to where I was when I started things.

If you’re new around here, here’s a bit of backstory: I’ve been blogging since the early 2000’s, and when brands started realizing that there was a benefit to working with online creators, I was lucky enough to collaborate with a few favourites. Back then, there wasn’t a ton of information online about how to start and maintain a blog or things like how to work with brands, how much to charge for a sponsored post, etc. Whatever information there was out there was all very US orientated as well, which didn’t always translate well for British bloggers.

I kept getting asked by friends how to do all these sort of things, and eventually I figured I could just write everything I knew up and put it into a book. That became a Kindle guide, but while I was writing it in lunch breaks and spare hours, I realised that things were changing so quickly that a static book wasn’t enough – a website would make much more sense and in April 2013, bonjourblogger.com was born!

One of the best things that came out of Bonjour, Blogger! was #blogclub. It started as a casual meetup for bloggers in the Bristol area, because blogging was great fun but could be a bit lonely, and getting together was so much fun! Those early meetups were small and friendly, and I always came away from them feeling full of ideas and inspiration. So many lovely, smart, generous bloggers came through those metaphorical doors, ready to share what they knew and support each other. Some of you made real-life friendships there. (I definitely did!)

Moving to Seattle was the beginning of the end for the site for me though. I had always positioned Bonjour, Blogger! as being a UK specific resource but how could I write about UK specific things if I was no longer there? (and for really really obvious reasons, I couldn’t really do #blogclub any more…)

I still love talking about blogging and influencing, especially in real life, but as the industry has grown and changed, I’m just not as on top of it as I used to be! I decided to close the site down because I was still paying for the hosting and domain, but every time I saw the email address in my mail app, I felt guilty that I just wasn’t doing anything with it.

Maybe it will come back one day in a new form (or even just the old form!) but for now, I’ll probably just share the influencery things that catch my eye here – I already have a few things that I want to talk about plus a couple of posts I want to rewrite from Bonjour, Blogger! and bring over here (like the one explaining how affiliate links work – you may have noticed the disclaimer at the top of this post that links back to BB…well that doesn’t work right now, oops!).

I’m still not entirely sure how to wrap this up, to be honest. Letting go of something that was such a big part of my life for so long wasn’t easy -even if I knew it was the right thing to do but it feels like the right time to close that tab.

And who knows – maybe it’ll come back one day!

Hi there!

I recently realised it’s been years since I properly introduced myself here. If you’re new (or just forgot who I am because I barely post ), hello again!

I’m Hayley – a Brit living just outside Seattle with my husband, Alex, and our three chaotic (but very cute) dogs. I started this account ages ago to share outfits, life bits, and things I was loving. These days, it’s evolved into a bit of everything, really.

I’m trying to break out of my homebody era and meet more lovely people – so if you’re nearby and up for a low-key hang, especially if you know a good spot with a decent brew – count me in!

A few fun things about me:
I’ll always choose tea over coffee (but still love a good coffee shop)
I live just outside Redmond, but I still hate driving in downtown Seattle (to be fair, I only learned to drive a month before moving to the US in 2017!)
I’ve been blogging since 2000… I know. (hi, ceriselle.org )
If you follow me for aesthetic content, just know there’s probably a dog snoring off-camera (when they’re not trying to get in the photo, obviously)
I try to keep my accent toned down, but it definitely gets stronger when I’m excited

If you’re into low-pressure, cozy content from someone who’s mostly making it up as she goes — welcome!
Tell me something fun about you in the comments — or just say hi! I’d genuinely love to hear a little about you too.
