Proverbs 22: 9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed: for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

May/June 2012

Dear Friend in Christ,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Have you ever felt hungry and couldn't decide what you wanted to eat? But, you at least knew that you had a choice? Have you ever heard anyone complain that there is nothing to eat? But, more than likely they do have some food in the kitchen; it's just not what they want or have a taste for.

Imagine being hungry and there really wasn't anything to eat at all. This is how it is for many in Haiti. When we think about the children who are our future generation we become saddened by the fact that their lives are interrupted by hunger. Without proper nourishment these precious children find it difficult to function normally in their daily lives. For those who attend school it is hard for them to concentrate. It's also hard for children help out with chores at home and even enjoy playing.

Here in Haiti it is common to see children on the streets begging. They are begging because they are hungry. It is very heartbreaking. Let us do what is right in the sight of God and do what we can for these disadvantaged children. It is not their fault that they are in this situation.

We all have the ability to help whether it be big or small. Some of you are blessed enough to help generously and some of you can help at a smaller level. Never look down upon a small donation because every dollar sent brings us one step closer to feeding a child in need. If we all pull together and give at the level that we are able then it creates a powerful force that advances the Kingdom of God.

Wouldn't it be nice to know that when you eat, a child in Haiti is eating with you? Imagine eating together at the dinner table because that is exactly what you are doing when you give to this serious cause. Imagine the smile you have placed on a child's face because his/her stomach is satisfied. But, we don't want it to be just a one-time deal. Our goal is to provide food on a daily basis with no interruptions. We would like your help in making this possible.

Pastor's, you can help by having your church send a monthly gift in whatever amount the Lord lay's upon your hearts to help feed these children. For couples, families, and individuals, you can help by adding another plate or more to your dinner table for a child/children in Haiti with a monthly donation in any amount that the Lord lay's upon your hearts.

We at, Caribbean Fellowship Ministries, thank you for all that you do for the glory of God! May each and every one of you be blessed above and beyond for your generous giving and unselfish ability to share with those less fortunate. Proverbs 22: 9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed: for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

The Callous Tongue

From the Desk of: Elsie Liberis

Definition of callous: Feeling or showing no sympathy for others.

Synonym of callous: Compassionless, heartless, insensitive, ruthless, uncharitable.

We have all been victims of another persons callous tongue at one point in our lives. I don't think that I need to remind you just how hurtful that can be. The sad part of it is that we have all been victims at one time, but may have also found ourselves being the perpetrator, as well. If we are not talking about someone, then someone is talking about us. As christians we ought to know better. There is no place for gossip and rumors in the Kingdom of God. Not only that, but what example are we giving to the unsaved?

Over the years I have learned that the people who actually take the time to start gossip and spread rumors are people with intentions and motives. You would be surprised to learn the real reasons why people do what they do. Many times it is caused by jealousy, dislike, rivalry, etc. Their main goal is to try and destroy the other individual because of their own personal feelings towards them. Shame on them and shame on the ones who listen to it and pass the information along. I can certainly tell you that this destructive behavior is definitely not an act of love nor is it of God. Practice this saying, "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil."

When we are approached by someone with so-called "juicy information" our first reaction is to stop what we're doing and give the bearer of news our complete attention. I am here to tell you that we ought to stop that sort of behavior right now starting this New Year 2012. It is a serious virus that needs to be dealt with! We need to discipline ourselves and refrain from listening to any negative conversation about another person.

We ought to be careful of those who gossip and spread rumors. They are not conducting themselves in a mature manner. It saddens me to say that over the years I have witnessed how gossip and rumors have destroyed families, friendships, and even ministries. It's an ugly demon and we christians need to stop supporting the devil. Matthew 7:1-5 (please read)

Let us do right before God the next time we are approached by someone with gossip and rumors. Instead of inclining our ears to hear, we ought to stop and pray for this individual. Make a solid decision not to involve yourself in such ungodly behavior. The devil is out to destroy God's people and His work. What better way than to turn one christian against another. Matthew 12: 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

We christians need to walk together in love, support one another, and build a bond of unity in order to advance the Kingdom of God. We will be a better witness to the unsaved and win more souls for His Kingdom. But, first we need to clean up our houses. Let's start building each other up instead of tearing down so that much can be accomplished for 2012.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES! GRACE BE WITH YOU ALL!

During Raoul Liberis' trip to Kentucky, he was blessed with an opportunity to meet Evangelist William Moore, who accompanied Dr. Liberis on numerous speaking engagements during his trip. From there a fellowship was born, and Evangelist Moore was lead to support C.F.M in feeding the children of Haiti and to assist with our building programs.

Evangelist Moore, plans to visit Haiti the weekend of December 16, 2011, to assist with C.F.M.'s upcoming project, "Christmas in the Caribbean." This project is set in place with a mission to feed and provide gifts for the men, women and children within the C.F.M. family, by providing a complete meal and gifts to approximately 1000 children.

Caribbean Fellowship Ministries would like you to receive Evangelist Moore with open arms, through support and prayer as he becomes an ambassador for our Christmas Project.

Detroit Piston, Brandon Knight, donates T-shirts and Watches to C.F.M.

Former University of Kentucky Wildcat, and Newest Detroit Piston, Brandon Knight; recently held his 1st Annual Basketball Skills Clinic. The event took place the first weekend in October, in Coral Springs, Fl. As previously posted, Mr. Knight, owner of B. Knight Enterprises, was in search of a reputable organization, that he could trust and provide a charitable donation to. Caribbean Fellowship Ministries, was contacted by Efrem Knight Jr. of B. Knight Enterprises', and from there, a fellowship and partnership was formed.

Michele Liberis-McNabb and Henry McNabb Jr, the daughter and son-in-law of Dr. Raoul & Elsie Liberis, were able to attend and volunteer for this amazing 2 day clinic. The Camp did an awesome job with providing information on sponsorship and projects related to C.F.M. During the course of the event, a 6 year old camper, who won a gift card for winning one of many games played that weekend; turned around and donated the gift card in front of his peers and parents in attendance, to the children of Caribbean Fellowship Minsitries. What an awesome testimony of giving!!

On the last day of the clinic, Brandon Knight, presented a check, t-shirts and sports watches to the men, women, and children being sponsored in Haiti through C.F.M., to Dr. Raoul Liberis' eldest daughter, Michele.

The most simple gifts, are worth so much to those, who at times, do not have a shirt to put on their back, and have never owned a watch of their own. These gifts are of great significance and will be handed out personally by Dr. Raoul Liberis and the C.F.M. staff.

On behalf of Dr. Raoul & Elsie Liberis, and the Liberis Family, we sincerely thank Mr. Knight, for his kindness, his charitable giving, and his obedience in Christ. He is a great example and role model to both his peers, and the younger and older generation. We look forward to posting pictures very soon of the men, women and children blessed by the charitable giving of Mr. Knight, B. Knight Enterprises and all of the campers who were in attendance.

Dr. Raoul Liberis honored by the State of Kentucky.

On October 1st, 2011, during his visit to the state of Kentucky, Dr. Raoul Liberis was awarded the honorary title of KENTUCKY COLONEL.

"Kentucky colonel is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Commissions for Kentucky colonels are given by the Governor and the Secretary of State to individuals in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or the nation. The sitting governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky bestows the honor of a colonel's Commission, by issuance of letters patent" (defined by Wikipedia).

"A Kentucky Colonel is an individual who has received the honorary title of "Kentucky Colonel" only when nominated by another Colonel and awarded by the current governor of the state of Kentucky. Holding no military rank, a Kentucky Colonel becomes a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a commission held for life.
Kentucky Colonels were originally from the state of Kentucky but today they come from every corner of the world. What unites these honorary Colonels? Kentucky Colonels are a wildly diverse group of motivated people who care about helping the needy. Not only are the people of Kentucky recipients of this good will, but those who are in need around the world also benefit. Colonels come from every state in the nation and dozens of countries abroad." (website: American History @Suite 101. Article by: Vicki F. Chavis)

Some famous colonels include: President Bill Clinton, President Lyndon B. Johnson and Boxer, Muhammad Ali.

To be honored in such an extensive, historical list of famous individuals; by simply acting on good deed, is a true testament to Dr. Raoul Liberis' passion and character. He received this honor with joy and humility, and his family and extended C.F.M. family is very proud of his achievement.

If you would like to personally congratulate Dr. Liberis on this extraordinary honor, please feel free to email him at: cfmhaiti.rliberis@gmail.com.

Detroit Piston, Brandon Knight, to assist children of Haiti through C.F.M.

A younger generation of volunteers and supporter's are seeking ways to provide assistance to those in need. Many are aware of the needs of those less fortunate either through school programs, Churches or the media; and many more are becoming involved with helping the nation of Haiti after it's devastating Earthquake last year. 19 year old Brandon Knight of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is just one of many of this younger generation, taking a step to reach out and help in the re-building of this impoverished nation. His passion: providing supplies, clothing and food to the children of Haiti.

B. Knight Enterprises was founded in July 2011 by the newest Detroit Piston, and he will be hosting his "1st Annual Skills Clinic." This camp will take place in Coral Springs, FL on October 1-2, 2011. Caribbean Fellowship Ministries was honored when contacted by the staff at B. Knight Enterprises to become it's "Charity of Choice," for this event. B. Knight Enterprises made it very clear that Mr. Knight was looking for a reputable organization, who's staff was hands on in the mission field. When referred to CFM, he had no doubts that this was the Ministry he wanted to work closely with in regards to their Orphanage and Schools.

We give God the praise, that the younger generation will continue to lead by example. We look forward to updating the site with pictures from the event, and of the chidren, schools and programs it provided for. We ask that you pray for Brandon Knight throughout his journey in the NBA and in his spiritual walk. In Mr. Knight's favorite acronym, "T.G.B.T.G.", we all are in agreement, "TO GOD BE THE GLORY."

PERSONAL ENRICHMENT LETTER

FROM THE DESK OF: Elsie Liberis

                                                     EASILY OFFENDED; EASILY BROKEN

Do you know of anyone who is easily hurt or offended at the drop of a hat? Is that person a loved one or maybe even you?

* Definition of offended: To hurt or cause pain to. To irritate, annoy, or anger.

Those that are easily offended lead very stressful lives. They in return cause stress to those with whom they cross paths with. These individuals are everywhere; in your home, workplace, places of business, places of worship, and even when you are out driving on the road.

Being easily offended causes arguments, fights, road rage, and even sickness if you don't know how to deal with it properly when it comes your way. It can cause division in relationships and even spark bitterness between individuals. You put two easily offended people together and you definitely have a problem.

I know one young lady who can't get through five minutes without getting offended. Everyone with whom she comes in contact with everyday offends her in some way. Most of it is so trivial. Quite frankly, I feel very sorry for her because she spends each day being hurt and upset and it is causing her undue stress. It hurts her when a total stranger doesn't return her hello's. It hurts her when a person doesn't say thank you. I could go on and on.

Let's face it, the world is made up of all kinds of people. There are many rude people out there, unfortunately, but we cannot allow someone else's rude behavior to affect us in such a negative way. We can't go around changing people, but we can change ourselves.

We are all prone to get offended from time to time. We are not perfect. But, we can educate ourselves by simply understanding that these individuals are that way for a reason. Certainly these individuals have issues, grievances, anger, etc., in their personal lives that need to be dealt with. They have absolutely no clue on how to walk in love. They are sadly being led by the flesh.

I have been truly blessed with the ability to let things go and I am quick to forgive. I don't get offended easily because I see it as the other person's problem and not mine. I come across people everyday whose words and actions can be quite offensive, but I don't let it get the best of me. I know that these people are hurting people; people with issues and personal problems. Instead of snapping back at them I simply return a kind word or just go about my business so as not to escalate the situation. Don't allow these individuals to bully you into a behavior like theirs and forcing you to stoop down to their level. What they are seeking is for you to respond back and it's always best to just walk away.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

As christians we must remember who we are in Christ Jesus. 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind, charity envieth not, charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. 5 Doth not behave itself unseemingly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

In closing, I would like to add this little saying I came across. 1 person can make you feel hi. 1 person can make you feel lo. But only u can decide, which way u want to go.

If you have been blessed by my message you may send a love gift in any amount made payable to: Caribbean Fellowship Ministries. I am not a public speaker, but rather a writer. (smile) I am also interested in the welfare of our partners/friends of this mission. This is my way of saying, thank you, for helping our mission and also giving you something back in return.

God bless you all and I will be sending out more personal life enrichment messages in the near future.

In His Love and Service,

Pastor Raoul has sent a large batch of photos from Haiti. There are many updated photos from 2009 in the Mission Gallery, and a new gallery of photos taken since the earthquakes.

Raoul has also written, "We certainly live on a day to day basis. We appreciate every prayer prayed for us and I can see life is very fragile. Everyday we get up in Haiti is so meaningful. Thank the Lord!"

When asked about a specific sponsored child, he reports that she "is fine but still disoriented, as are many children in our care, pray for them."

He closed his message saying, "Elsie is doing fine as well as the children. God bless you, and thanks for all the help you've been sending to us."

Relief Items Needed

The "crisis board for relief " at CFM is pleased to submit this request for assistance in this time of crisis and trouble to help the victims of the earthquake in our area. We are desperate for the following items in order to respond to the needs of the population.

Tents, food, clothing, medical supplies of all sorts, personal hygiene kits for about 16,000 families who have been hit by the earthquake in the following areas: Fort-Jacques, Sarthe, Grande-Savane, Duvier, Callebasse, Chambon, Francois, Duval, Greffin, Ocadet, Laleau, Mariaman, Fermathe, Duplan, Lascahobas, Lespinasse, and Leogane, etc.

The above mentioned items are completely or almost wiped out and the people are lacking every basic thing as survivors. The mission is advocating on their behalf for intervention to alleviate their situation. May God bless your endeavor as we await your prompt action.

Sincerely:
For the crisis board relief ,
Dr Raoul Liberis / Pres. Founder.

PS: The pastor of the Redeeming Word Christian Center, Dr. Ed Brinson, our mission sponsor church in Florida, is allowing us to receive all the items mentioned above at his church. We will then have to have containers to ship them to Haiti.

Here is the address:

REDEEMING WORD CHRISTIAN CENTER
