CFUR is a campus-based community station, meaning we’re at the university, but we broadcast to and are available for the entirety of Prince George. Tune in to us at 88.7 fm anywhere in the city, or online at CFUR.ca anywhere in the world.

If you are a student, you are a member of the radio society. This means that you are able to get involved with shaping the direction that CFUR goes.

What does this mean? Basically, whatever you want. We’re always looking for on-air personalities, so if you think you’d like to try it out there are a couple of options: create your own show, or work with one of our existing formats. For example, we need someone to take over Hiphopnautic, a weekly showcase of rap music. We also need DJ’s to handle the CFUR Mixtape, which is a multi-hour flow of new music.

If talk is more your thing, we’re always open to ideas. Some ideas:  shows about the education system, urban planning, environment, current events, political issues, philosophy, religion.

Behind the scenes we need people to help out with public service announcements, ad management, website updating and the like. We’re also looking for people who can market CFUR and/or get a handle on our listener numbers and demographics.

Tonight is the last two hour Bad, Not Cheap before I switch back to a boring old 60 minute show.  Creating a theme for a two hour show has exhausted me because I am a gluttonous human being.  It was fun for the summer, but I’m ready to go back to my roots.

I did a bit of a different style for my show tonight.  Each set of music that I play will be by the same artist/band!  Yay!  I couldn’t decide what to play so I decided not to.

Planet Without Borders will bring you another life story of an international student here in Prince George. Alvaro Palazuelos is from Argentina and he is master student at the University of Northern British Columbia. We will talk about his experiences during his stay in Prince George and UNBC as well as passion of soccer in Argentina. Do not forget that less than 24 hours after this interview Argentina will play against of Germany. Both teams are good, but lets hear what Alvaro think about the soccer match…

It’s Canada Day tomorrow! Whether you’re going to the park, heading out to a lake, or even have to work, we hope you take some time to celebrate the awesome country you live in. And to help, we have some special programming today.

The CFUR Canada Mixtape is a flow of pure, straight-up Canadian music made after the year 2006. So when you get sick of listening to Rush and Nickelback, you can head over to 88.7 or cfur.ca/listen and take in the sounds of the New Pornographers, Said the Whale, You Say Party!, Fan Death, Cadence Weapon, Crystal Castles, Mother Mother, and much much more. We’re still playing our regular shows, we’re just taking out the reruns, so you can hear the Canada Day Mixtape from 8 to 11 am, 4 to 8 pm, and 10 to 11 pm.
