RailClone is a 3DS Max plugin for parametric modeling based on custom geometry parts, definable by the user, and a set of construction rules. This new concept of modeling lets you to build complex and realistic structures for Architectural Visualization, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Interior Design.

RailClone 2 features Are:

Versatile
RailClone is a 3DS Max plugin for parametric modeling based on custom geometry parts, definable by the user, and a set of construction rules. This new concept of modeling lets you to build complex and realistic structures for Architectural Visualization, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Interior Design. The software includes a full library of predefined styles, but it is not limited to a fixed set of primitives, you can use any geometry from the scene and define your own parametric models.

Style editor

Points-cloud view mode & instanced rendering
Using the new Points-cloud view mode, together the native geometry shaders for Mental Ray and VRay, RailClone lets you to create huge parametric objects, made up of thousands of detailed parts. For instance, the bridge scene (VRay, 5 min. render time, 2 Gb. RAM) would be impossible to render using standard construction techniques. See the Rendering Best Practices notes for technical details.

Adaptative geometry
The software applies automatically all necessary transformations to create a consistent object. This includes bending on curves, length slicing, bevels and other transformations. You just need to define the construction rules, RailClone adapts the involved segments automatically.

Arrays
RailClone 2 allows multiple construction blocks for each object, named Generators.Besides the default linear generator available in RailClone 1.x, the new version introduces Arrays. You can use it to create walls, pavements, facades and other fancy structures

Solving heights
To accomplish special requirements when sloped surfaces are involved in Architectural Design and Civil Engineering, RailClone uses advanced algorithms. Sloped walls, handrail stairs, and stepped fences are not a problem anymore in 3DS Max.

Styles Library
RailClone Pro comes with a Library of more than 280 predefined styles, including Fences, Railings, Barriers, Traffic, Walls, and other models. The library is fully customizable, allowing you to add new categories and models with a single click and share them with your colleages.

Check out the RailClone 2 Demo Reel which is the selection works done by using this incredible plugin
This massive upgrade to V-Ray for SketchUp includes a series of new feature introductions that enhance visualization workflow and render quality (V-Ray RT®, V-Ray Dome Light) and streamline scene complexity (V-Ray Proxy).
>> More plugins here

Key Features are:
Rendering Engine Upgrades:
*V-Ray RT – This CPU-supported rendering engine streamlines scene setup and provides instant visual feedback directly in SketchUp for quicker design, material, and lighting decisions.

Lights:
*Dome Light – Creates simple, artifact-free image-based lighting using importance sampling of HDR images. This technique greatly optimizes light tracing and GI precision.

*Lights as Components – V-Ray lights can now be part of a SketchUp component, making the process of changing the design and settings of multiple lights at once much easier.
*Sphere Light – Creates spherically shaped area lights.
Geometry:
*V-Ray Proxy – Manages scene memory and efficiently renders large amounts of geometry to increase detail and complexity in scenes. V-Ray Proxy objects are dynamically loaded and unloaded at render time, which saves vital RAM resources.

V-Ray Lens Effect
Lens Effect - allows you to achieve bloom and glare effects in your renderings.
Materials
V-Ray Material - a compact and optimized material that includes diffuse, reflection, and refraction parameters with the ability to change the BRDF
Wrapper Material - can be used to specify additional properties per material. Most importantly you can now create true matte materials which shows the background as opposed to the base material.
Material Library - this new library contains over a 100 ready to use and photo realistic V-Ray materials.
Other
Procedural Texture Mapping - we add more texture mapping toallow you create different effect on the materials. Now you have more freedom on the materials creation.
- AColorOp
- Combine Color
- Mix
- NoiseMax
Texture editing
Three different Color Spaces - to correct the gamma of the images.
- Linear
- Gamma Corrected
- sRGB

You can Apply for being V-Ray 1.6 for SketchUp Open Beta tester here
Lamborghini took a rather extreme design route with the Egoista, seen both on the exterior and on the interior, which reminds of a helicopter and/or airplane cockpit.

“the single-seater concept is characterized by two fundamental aspects: its architecture, and the materials used. the cockpit, designed like a tailor-made suit for the driver, is a removable section which, once combined with the rest of the vehicle, creates a perfect technical, mechanical and aerodynamic unit. influenced by the world of aviation – specifically an apache helicopter – the cockpit can be ejected in an emergency.”

Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullock (“The Blind Side,” “The Proposal”) and George Clooney (“Up in the Air,” “Syriana”) star in “Gravity,” a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. The film was directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuarón (“Children of Men”).

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.

But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Starring Sandra Bullock, George Clooney
Directed by Alfonso Cuarón
Screenplay by Alfonso Cuarón, Jonás Cuarón
Produced by Alfonso Cuarón, David Heyman
The movie will be in the theaters in October 4th
The Blender Foundation has unveiled the latest version of its open source 3D application. New in this release is the Freestyle render engine for non-photorealistic rendering, which can generate 2D line drawings in various styles.
The paint and sculpt system is now much more consistent across different paint modes and has gained various new features. Motion tracking was made faster, and Cycles now has initial support for subsurface scattering.
The node system now support more flexible group editing. For developers of external render engine addons it is now possible to support node based materials.
For 3D printing an addon was added to analyze and export the meshes.
Illustrators, artists, graphic designers and other visual creatives have long worked with their hands, and the Mighty Pen delivers this experience in a tablet environment. When using an iPad or other tablet device, the Adobe Mighty Pen works with a software application to create a virtual sketchbook, allowing its user to draw, write or doodle on endless sheets of organized paper. The software appears similar to the Paper iPad App, but the stylus is much more advanced than a finger on the display.

The Adobe Mighty Pen has a button control located where the index finger rests to allow the user to pull up menus to change colors, brush types and other details as they use the pen. The app notices the difference between the pen and a finger, so the pen can be used to illustrate, the finger can be used to erase. A single tap acts as an “undo” command, another tap reverses the undo. These are a few of a larger set of commands and controls that can be used to re-create the experience of pen on paper, one that creatives have relied upon for generations.

In addition to the Mighty Pen, Adobe has also revealed the Napoleon Ruler, a companion device that will feel very familiar to drafters, architects and other illustrative creatives. It features a set of controls that work in conjunction with Mighty Pen to create an environment similar to the traditional pencil-and-ruler combination that illustrators love.
Thinkbox Software has announced Stoke MX, a particle simulator plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max designed to simplify and accelerate the creation of high-volume particle clouds driven by velocity fields.
Fast and easy to use, Stoke MX supports a large number of emitter and velocity sources, and introduces new workflows. Previously unavailable capabilities include multi-threaded particle advection, rapid memory-buffered playback, and asynchronous multi-threaded particle file saving, which enables significantly higher performance compared to existing workflows.
>> More Plugins
>> STOKE MX video Tutorials

Key features of Stoke MX include:
-Quick particle generation from other particle systems, geometry surfaces, volumes, vertices and edges including selection and soft-selection support, as well as from Sitni Sati's FumeFX simulations
-Optional emitter channel acquisition with minimal overhead
-Particle advection using velocities from other particle systems or files, 3ds Max force space warps, FumeFX simulations, Thinkbox’s Ember simulations, and other Stoke simulations
-Velocity field mixing, scaling and optional divergence removal from particle-based velocity fields to produce uncompressible fluid motion
-Flexible memory caching for fast simulation iterations and interactive viewport playback
-PRT file saving using one or more background threads, decoupling the simulation from the particle saving process for even faster iterations
-Integration with local and Thinkbox’s Deadline partitioning
-Extensive MAXScript exposure enabling the creation of custom Stoke-based tools
-Compatible with the Thinkbox’s Krakatoa MX high-volume particle renderer and its various components including PRT Loader and other PRT objects, Magma and delete modifiers, particle data viewer, etc
-Compatible with Thinkbox Software’s Frost particle mesher (version 1.3.5 and higher)

“The flexibility of Stoke is phenomenal so we are super excited to see what artists can do with it,” said Chris Bond, founder, Thinkbox Software. “Stoke enables a completely new way of working. Instead of being stuck in a rigid linear simulation workflow, artists can essentially layer their particles and work backwards to mix, enhance or alter simulation data quickly and easily without having to re-simulate. It opens up a lot of possibilities.”

“Stoke MX gives us the opportunity to build layers of detail upon fluid simulations with the exciting speed, control and freedom of imagination that have become a trademark of tools by Thinkbox Software,” noted Hristo Velev, a visual effects artist with early access to the software. “A simple, well directed base simulation can be quickly developed into a complex modern effect. Artists get plenty of room to create with negligible learning curve, due to the use of very successful Thinkbox technology like Magmaflow and PRT caching. And with these, it fits tightly in existing pipelines hosting the rest of the Thinkbox portfolio, especially Krakatoa and Frost. Stoke is a force multiplier for simulation work.”

Visual effects artist Jason Crosby added, “For the wormhole shot in After Earth, Stoke allowed me to come up with a look in just a couple days. Creating iterations was a very quick process and the support from Thinkbox was amazing!”

he Stoke MX base package includes one workstation and two network simulation licenses. Additional network simulation licenses can be purchased individually. May 6 (Reuters) - Adobe Systems Inc said upgrades for its flagship software package, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash, would be available only through online subscriptions, effective immediately.Adobe is the latest traditional software company to make a big bet on the cloud-based subscription model pioneered by companies such as Salesforce.com Inc, NetSuite Inc and Google Inc.

Subscription models bring in less money upfront as payment is spread over the entire period of use unlike traditional packaged software, but typically ensure more predictable recurring revenue. Upgrades will be available only through online subscriptions from June 17, a company executive said on Monday at an annual conference, where Adobe showcases its latest products.

Membership Plans and Availability:
-Creative Cloud membership for individuals is US$49.99 per month based on annual membership. If You want to have acces to single app, You will pay 19,99$ monthly
-Existing customers who own CS3 to CS5.5 get their first year of Creative Cloud at the discounted rate of US $29.99 per month.
"Hundred percent of what we do moving forward will be in Creative Cloud, there will be no more Creative Suite, there will be no new version of Creative Suite," said Scott Morris, senior marketing director of Creative Cloud.

Creative Suite 6, launched in May 2012, combines software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and Dreamweaver that are used by professional designers.

Creative Cloud helps customers access the Creative Suite software package through online subscriptions.

Customers can buy a Creative Cloud subscription for $74.99 on a monthly basis and $49.99 per month for an annual subscription.

The Creative Suite 6 Master Collection, which includes all Creative Suite tools, is priced at $2,599, an amount that could buy more than four years worth of Creative Cloud annual subscriptions.

"This is a shift that we've been looking at for quite some time," David Wadhwani, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, told Reuters in an interview.

"We plan to continue to support and sell Creative Suite 6 and customers can continue to purchase that for the foreseeable future," he said. While the existing design programs will still be sold for a license fee, which customers buy once and can use for years without making extra payments, those software won't get the newer functionalities, Adobe executives said.
