With exams looming on my doorstep, AP European literally tomorrow afternoon, I’ve been unable to really get back into the Let’s Play Tekkit series and finish up some more episodes. Once I finish AP testing, which my last test is next Friday, I will probably write up another post dictating what my future plans are for the Let’s Play Tekkit series and YouTube overall. I do start my first college semester in June so I need to be on my grizz for that. Also, I’ve been seeing someone. What? A geek can’t have that special someone in his life? Well too bad for you cause it’s already done. This has been Ch1cken Sniper, have a great day.

It’s been MANY days and Machinima has not emailed me or even hinted at an upload of the first episode of the Tekkit series. I feel like I should re-boot the series with a bit more “soul” since I feel like the first two episodes don’t have enough soul. I’m a very passionate individual and I don’t see that passion injected in the videos. Expect a re-boot of the series!

Windows 8 Consumer Preview - General Overview

This is the screen you see after the initial clock screen following the boot up of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. This is my second time booting up so my Windows Live account was already linked to the OS. Windows 8 keeps all of your overall preferences of background images and so forth, synced in the cloud. This is one feature that I could personally really get used to since supposedly it states that you can log into other Windows 8 computers with the same Windows Live account and have your settings synced. I don’t know about you but if I can log into a new Windows 8 computer and have your emails accounts and such synced to the apps automatically, I call that a hell of a deal.

Once you’ve entered your password, you’re taken into the Start menu, or as I’ve nicknamed it, “The Dashboard”. This menu contains all your “apps”. Apps aren’t your standard Windows’ programs, these are actually applications which take full advantage of new Windows 8 GUI style that just makes things full-screen and all sexy and junk, made to bridge the gap between phones, tablets, and computers. With this new level of interface sync between platforms, the apps become a powerful driving force for Windows 8. But don’t believe that the UI you enjoy is gone, because it’s not.

Hey! It’s Windows 7 minus the Start Button on the bottom left! This is the Desktop “App”, though I see it as more of a short cut. From here you can access all the usual Windows functionality. Right now there are many buttons and stuff that you’d usually be used to missing, but I’m sure they’ll re-add the actual start menu as before near the final version since some people might not like the idea of using the whole dashboard thing. As it stands right now, to access the start menu you must press the Windows button to return to the tiled start menu again. Now lets roll back so I can show you the shop, mail client, and calender. I feel like I’ve been neglecting my website/blog. School is quite the time-thief and to be honest I don’t know what I would write about even if I had the time. I guess I’m gonna start taking some notes while playing Skyrim and possibly write some sort of story based on one of my character’s progress through the world. If I have enough time, I’ll start getting a Lets Play /w Live Commentary started. Well, lets hope I have time.

For any of you whom don’t have your head under a rock, you already know Battlefield 3 comes out tomorrow, October 25th. Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on it and risk failing this week’s tests because I’m too busy fighting my way through Arab skies and infrastructure. For those of you whom pre-ordered the game, remember that we will be getting the “Back to Karkand” expansion pack which includes some maps from past Battlefield games, like Karkand from BF2. Though if you got it at Best Buy, like myself, you’ll be recieving the “SPECACT Kit Upgrade” as well. Don’t work Gamestop fan-boys, you have one too, I just don’t remember what it was.

Torchlight 2 Coming Holiday 11'

Torchlight 2 is scheduled to hit the scene this holiday season, November or December, “Unless someone on the team dies.” says Runic Games, developers of Torchlight. From the looks of it, we have a VERY nice game to sit well-fed with until Diablo III comes out. Obviously, in the remote case that Diablo III isn’t that good, we have Torchlight II to fall back on.

Official Launch Stream of Ch1cken Vidya!

Tonight is the official launch stream of Ch1cken Vidya! I must truly say that I have enjoyed coding and designing the site and I am quite proud of the work I have done. I decided to go with the Minecraft theme because the idea had been floating around in my head and it would work best so I decided to just throw it in there and it works perfectly so “Hell why not?”.

Last night, I had an official pre-launch stream to test out the site and make sure everything was working nicely. The stream was a complete flop! The only people whom showed up where my family and a friend of mine. Everyone wanted to watch videos and so forth, which basically implies that people don’t know what the f*** a vidya stream is. My hopes for today are that I can get the word out to the right people and the stream goes well. The stream will be tonight, Sunday, from about 7PM to about 9PM. Why two hours? New episode of Dexter obviously!

Well guys and gals, it’s time for another little blog post. I’m in a hurry so this won’t be too stretched out like my other posts. Recently I have noticed that all of the vidya streams are upgrading their sites and making them look all fancy and shit so I’ve decided that I’m going to remake mine. For those whom don’t know what a vidya stream is, it’s a live stream that streams video games. Expect the new stream up by around Monday or next Saturday in the latest.

The Last Stand: Union City - A Good Flashgame?!

Hey guys and gals, it’s been a while since my last blog post. I’ve been caught up with school and studying for the PERT (Post-Secondary Education Readiness Test), the entrance exam to SAS (School for Advanced Studies) at Miami-Dade College. With a moment to breathe and enjoy some good old games, I stumbled upon something which I hadn’t seen in a very long while, dare I even say… Ever.

I can say that the way The Last Stand has progressed is worthy of saying that I’d pay to play it. In the first game, your basic goal was to survive x-number of nights. In between nights you could look for survivors, whom would help you during the night, or search for better guns. In the second game, you were able to explore around predefined maps, looking for weapons and such which used up an energy style system, and then during the night you would try and survive. The major point of the first two games was that you were tied to a barricade, which you had to try and protect from the oncoming zombies. In the third game, you play in a side-scrolling style, carrying weapons and using them like in the old games. But that isn’t the best part my friends, the best part is the RPG system which is in this game.

The RPG system in “The Last Stand: Union City” is the BEST one I have ever witnessed in a flash game. The depth and fluidity is just phenomenal, containing no room for argument what-so-ever. All I can honestly say is to go check it out for yourselves. Do not worry though, the three games don’t really have to do with each other so there is no tie-in story to worry about. Enjoy the game and let Con-Artists know that they have made a great game. Thank you for reading and enjoy the game.

Minecraft - Realistic Water?! Is that even possible?

Have you ever wanted your water to look so realistic that it made you ask yourself if you were actually playing Minecraft or was that Acid you took making you see the world all cubed and stuff? Well this mod is what you need my friends. Water Shader is a mod which basically makes water in Minecraft look like it does in the screenshot above. I must thank Yogscast for informing me of the presence of this mod. I’ll include the link to the mod and a link to MCPatcher.

A Thing of Beauty #3 - RubeVidz

This man is an artist of the gaming world and his technique, in my opinion, would be Leonardo da’ Vinci in editing. RubeVidz takes a very quick game-play clip and extends it into a full-feature video with panning shots of the environment, the player, the opponents, the action moments, and everything but the kitchen sink. I truly must give him props, his videos have made me realize once more that videos aren’t always about the fast-paced “awesome” content. Here is the third video in his series “A Thing of Beauty”. This time, he takes to Call of Duty 4 to make us feel nostalgic. Damn did it work.

Training Magic and Farming Big Bones (RS)

Hello everyone! I’ve decided to approach this blog in a much different light than I had before. My philosophy for blogging involved releasing lots of extended content in writing terms but after trying to work that out for a while, I came to realize that isn’t as easy as it sounds when you’re a full time student and blogging isn’t your occupation. I’ve decided to release lots of shorter, but yet exquisite, content in order to keep the blog running at a much faster pace at which I can actually release content because it won’t require me to change my schedule one bit. The theory is “I upload as I go along in my life as a gamer.” This means the content will be released as things happen to me, as things are said in the gaming world, and so forth. No onwards to the actual purpose of this post.

So I’ve picked up Runescape completely now. I had picked it up earlier but then left it for a month or so since I was having a self discovery month during July. Now that I’m back in, my “Road to Swan Song” continues. Most of the time in game is being spent on the little island full of ogres to the east of Castle Wars, killing Ogres and collecting their bones. I’ve come to calculate that if I carry my chaos and air runes, and two lobsters, I can carry 24 big bones back to castle wars. 1k big bones will net me almost 350k in gold and the ropes that I need to get onto the island are cheap as can be at only 85 gp each, meaning that the relative 45ish trips it takes to get 1k will only take 45 ropes and the math is just dork work. Onwards! To grinding!
