I guess its common sense that you shouldn’t blog when you are sick. That’s why i am going to tell you how to blog under extreme pressures in this article.

Many of you are just plain paranoid about blogging regularly. First things first, you will not die if you don’t blog today. Your blog will not suffer any major consequences. You must have come across many guides on blogging that say blog regularly, and as much as its true, its not the only means for you to keep your blog active.

Here are some things that i experimented to keep my blogging on its natural course and to eliminate the blogging stress :

1. Schedule your Blog posts

Its a good thing to blog daily but if you have more than two posts in a queue then i had better publish only one post today and keep the next one for tomorrow. You never know what’s gonna happen the next day. God forbid, you may fall sick, your girlfriend decides to break up with you or your boss invites you for dinner and saying no is not an option. There are many disasters when it comes to blogging too.

There are steps you can take if these things happen. Always make it a habit to schedule your posts to be published at a specified time. If you are on a WordPress platform, the CMS has already a schedule post option in the post editor section. Just set the date and time when you wish your post to be live, and you are done!

2. Don’t be Lazy

Many of us tend to get lazy when it comes to blog, just like studies. To be honest, i hate studies and i study at exam time only. I know its not a good practice but lately i am trying to change my routine.

You should never develop a lazy habit when blogging, and i am confident when i say that, just leave blogging if you don’t have a passion for it. You will achieve wonders if you do what you are good at…Seriously!

3. Out of ideas? Adopt traditional methods.

If you are out of topics to write on your blog and realize your blog concentrates on a particular niche rather than the whole world news, don’t get tensed. Just revert to the traditional means for finding articles such as TV, Newspaper, Magazines etc.

Take for example your blog is related to technology. Purchase a newspaper such as Times of India or Deccan Herald and check out the Technology page. You will find many articles out there related to your genre. Just pick one and start blogging. You can also go for Chip magazine, Jasubhai Digital Media or other such good magazines.

Better than all you can also tune in to your Cable TV and watch NDTV Good Times. Rajiv Makhni is a very well know Tech Guru. You can get tons of ideas out there. Another good one is BBC Click for all your tech news.

Just 2 days back, a friend of mine asked me how do you get ideas to blog, where do you find your sources? My reply to him was very simple, The Internet. Don’t get too complex about posting original stuff everytime. If you are in a hurry and there is no other option left you can go to Mashable.com, just copy paste their blog post article and give a link back to their blog post boldly at the bottom of the post.

NOTE: This method is not considered harmful for your blog’s SEO if you do it the right way, i.e. by giving link to their post. But don’t use this method too many times as link-heavy posts are not good for your blog’s health.

4. Don’t get frustrated, Sip a Cup of Coffee, Relax!

Blogging continuously for hours will lose your concentration. Take breaks after you have made a post. Go out for a walk or sit in the sun for a while. Drink coffee and listen to soft music. Doing meditation and Yoga are the best procedures to regain your concentration immediately.

Google homepage is now back with the old black navigation bar. Just a few months back Google had released a compact version of its navigation bar which used javascript to show a drop-down menu layout. Apparently the change upset a few of them.

As you can see in the pic below, the navigation bar is hidden behind the Google logo and expands when you hover over it. This bar was beginning to get uncomfortable for users, as we couldn’t directly click on the links. Also it was time consuming to hover over the logo and locate the links we wished to go to.

The use of javascript on pages also makes it rather slow while loading. Any Search Engine’s primemost characteristic should be, that it should load quickly, to make users search for things they want, right after they hit the Search button. Another drawback of the old navigation bar was, it took too much space on the homepage.

Here is the new navigation bar which was seen just a few weeks back. The navigation bar is black and is static. There are direct links placed on the bar to your favorite social features.

If you are still seeing the old hover navigation bar, try clearing cookies and emptying your cache from the browser and restart to see the new bar. Personally i think the black navigation bar is just fine, pure simple and attractive. That’s the way i like it. It seems Google is trying out new features to measure the user experience. Getting valuable feedback from people is a nice way to experiment something new.

The new black bar is compact in its design and sits right at the top of the webpage. Sometimes simple is better. We shouldn’t try to complicate things just so they can look nice.

CSS animations commonly used for creating Web 2.0 buttons and other style effects is now old skool, on the other hand Scrollorama uses jQuery’s smooth scrolling to provide that extra something for your readers.

The Plugin gives you some really nice animation effects to start with such as Fade in, Fly in, Rotate in and Zoom in. The plugin is free to download and if you happen to be a web developer you can create some new animations too.

Just a few days back Google released its new Search, plus your world feature for Google+ users. This little tool is sure to hit your blog’s search results rather more seriously than the Google Panda.

If you want to experience Google Search Plus, login to your google account and search for anything on Google. This is what you will be looking at. 

At first when Google+ was launched, you would have seen personalized results according to whom you are connected on the Google+ network. The Search page shows you who recommended what and which results were +1′ed by your friends.

Personalization of results turned out to be very good feature for all of us. Actually it would have been better if Google kept it to that much only. But the introduction of Google’s search plus changes how you look at the things on the web.

Here is what i am talking about. When i searched for the phrase nice windows for home, you see two out of five results have no relation with what i searched for.

This new contraption diminishes the relevance of your searches on the World’s most popular Search Engine. Now imagine how it will turn out for blog publishers! The next time you search for your site name on Google, it will be a hard time looking at those results.

Although this is a bad news for you bloggers, there is a treat for you when it comes to sharing your content through the Google+ platform. Google Chrome gets a major overhaul. More Speed, More Secure and More Smart. The Beta Version is now available for download. You can test its speed by downloading from the link provided at the bottom of this post.

Chrome is my favorite browser. Although i have installed Firefox, Opera, Maxthon and a load of other browsers too on my computer, i use Chrome the most frequently. Simply because its fast and i like things to get done quickly. The new Chrome is all about adding more speed.

According to the official Google blog post,

To get you where you want to go even faster, Chrome will now start loading some web pages in the background, even before you’ve finished typing the URL in the omnibox. If the URL auto-completes to a site you’re very likely to visit, Chrome will begin to prerender the page.

This is a great feat, isn’t it guys? I bet there is no other browser which pre-renders a webpage, atleast till now! Apart from the speed improvements, the Google Chrome Team is also focused to provide the browser with extra security features when downloading a file. Kinda like, the Safari, but this is more Google.

When you download executable files such as .exe and .msi, which are considered as threats to your Computer, the new Chrome will automatically notify you that its dangerous and ask you if you want to still consider downloading it. I guess this was a major security feature which completely lacked in the previous versions.

I hope the Google Chrome browser will continue to be the best browser in the world.
