Most of my readers do not know me personally, so to say this on my blog, seems pretty pseronal. I mean, I haven’t been unemployed for probably 4 years now. Maybe even longer. For me, unemployment means no money, no freedom, boredom, nothing to do.. I don’t know. I somehow love keeping myself busy, at all times. Say, right now, I have 3 jobs.. and I have my current job (in which I actually just changed jobs, but thats another story), I work for my dad at his restaurant – pretty much.. at least 3-4 nights a week and I honestly consider blogging/youtubing a job. I mean, for the amount of hours I spend on this blog and my youtube channel, I could have probably earnt thousands on my day job already!

Anyways, so.. unemployment.. seems really far away to me. I mean, I was actually very close to being unemployed a month or two ago. My boss had stopped paying me due to his lack of income from his business, and I was only living off pocket money my parents had been giving me because I was working for them so much.. and trust me, that wasn’t alot.

I’m used to earning a lot of money, and ever since I was 14, I started to work. I started first at a pharmacy and was sharing a job with my sister. My sister actually studied Science/Medicine-like for her degree so the job was very important for her. During her HSC, she wanted to keep her job, so she had asked me to fill in for her until she was able to work again. Ofcourse, the boss had also agreed that it would be fine because my sister was such a great worker and assumed her sister wouldn’t be any less of one.

After that job, I moved onto marketing jobs, which were temporary jobs but I basically stood around Car Washing places and handed out newsletters and other stuff. I earnt so much money working on the weekends and basically just stood or even sat around doing nothing, or at most, talking to people.

And then I moved onto telemarketing, which was one crazy job and most people don’t survive it for long. I was working for a job-searching website, so most of the calls were B2B (business-to-business) so it wasn’t too difficult. I didn’t get extremely rude hang-ups and most people were actually really grateful that I was calling them! I wouldn’t do telemarketing ever again though, just because you wake up and fall sleep saying “Good Morning, my name is Janice and I’m calling from…”.

It eventually drives you crazy! But surprisingly, I always made it to one of the top, and several times the top sales of the week!!
Telemarketing was great because you get an awesome pay, have 4-hour shifts and so many people working with you. It’s a place to meet new friends, although they might all be competing with you to get the top sales
Money was extremely good as well. They normally pay a base rate and have comission on top and for my job at least, we got mini prizes for being the top 3 sales! They were usually $20 gift cards to Coles or whatever, but these three things kept me very motivated to continue working!

After 4 months of that though, I just couldn’t do it anymore and most of the crew I knew moved on.. so, so did I. I ended up moving to do data-entry at a well-known escalator company. Yeh, they.. operate escalators and lifts, etc. It was a huge company, so I didn’t actually ever get to meet the boss. It was really exciting because no one at the company really cared what you were doing (though I was only a casual, so I didn’t get access to the internet).. and I could stay in the kitchen for an hour without getting into trouble. I loved working there!

Except… time passed and I started to be able to do the work with my eyes closed. No literally. There was no excitement in the job what-so-ever and I felt like I was memorising my maths all over again. You know? I already knew exactly what to do and how to do it each time I went into work. I hated that feeling. I needed change.

So after that 1.5 years of boringness, I moved on. I wanted to do something I was actually interested in, so I got into an tax accounting firm. It was a very small firm and everything and everyone was extremely… unformal. I was very surprised. Most of the workers there were underpaid and given a shxtload of work to do. In my position, actually being a “junior tax accountant”, I actually had to do a whole lot of filing and outbound calls. I almost felt like a telemarketer once again!

I made so many calls each day to chase up clients for their details, for their payslips, for their payment summaries… urgh. I hated it. The filing also drove me crazy and I was almost going to get the boss to start paying for my manicures!

Okay, so then, (yes, my job history is long), I left the company, like most of the others, and I worked at my last job. It is a surfing company, in which was going through the design/marketing process when I was there. I was a marketing/PR assistant and was promoted to be the manager. I basically added information into the website every day for half a year until the site launched, and then I started to do all the promotional work, such as sending out newsletters, contacting companies to make “customised” t-shirts and other stuff to send out to all our subscribers, etc.etc. Think of wikipedia, I was like the data-entry person behind a site like that. I used to sit in the office researching and researching about surf spots, countries, islands, etc, just so I could write a paragraph on it!

I actually enjoyed it though, I had a great team and it was really fun working with everyone! And my boss was heaps awesome! But then, the financial crisis hit, and no one was willing to spend money on anything. Our site was more of a luxury good, rather than a need. I mean, it doesn’t sell chairs or tables, it sells memberships for the website and surf wax! We weren’t able to make as much revenue as we thought we could of…

So then I recently decided to move on since I had been there for 2 years already.. and I moved to this company in which I’m working for at the moment. I only started a few days ago so it’s really really exciting! I’m a finance assistant.. so I’m getting trained on everything from Risk Portfolios and Investments and Financial planning.. it’s just all really exciting!

As you can tell from my job history, I’m always on the freaking computer. LOL

Anyway, so the point to that whole life story, is that.. I’ve almost never, at one point of my life since I was 14.. been unemployed…. and unemployed in economic terms meaning “not actively seeking for a job”.

As of late, I’ve seen so many people around me either lose their jobs or resign from their jobs. I mean, I know that the job market has now picked up and its much easier to look for a new job, but for me, I find it very upsetting, or even scary when I see someone leave. Not just from my job, but even their own. I think its because I imagine myself.. being so unoccupied.. I honestly couldn’t think of what else I could do with my time! I’m happy for those who resign and move onto another job, maybe somewhere better, but for those, who remain unemployed, I get so worried.

In my office, I’ve seen about 8 people leave the company already and sometimes, another one would come and replace them, and then they’ll leave also. I’m someone whose scared of… change… and I always think back about the past, and about the people who were in the office with me, and miss the times they were here.

I’m so scared of unemployment, and it’s not just because I’m a big spender (hehe), I think it’s because I need that security, that financial security. I want to know that even if any happens, I can always depend on myself and my job. And, I think that’s what most people have their jobs for, right?

I know that was alot to read, but it’s just something thats been on my mind.

I’d like to know what your thoughts are.. are you employed? Are you actively seeking a job? Are you crazy about having a job like me?

Lately, all I’ve been doing is pampering myself and reading whilst waiting for my mask or whatever is ready. I pump about a dozen sprays of this Redken treatment in my hair, focusing on the tips of my hair. This product, I think is best applied on damp hair because when you apply it on dry hair , it doesn’t feel like you’ve applied much until you pump about 20 sprays!! And this product is expensive, so you don’t want to waste so much.

For those who are not familiar with this product, or the Redken Extreme line, these  products are made specifically for extremely damaged hair. Now, my hair isn’t like crazy damaged, but I’d like to keep it at the best condition possible so that I would have less breakage and hence, my hair will grow faster! ♥

You leave this treatment in your hair for about 15-20 minutes. I don’t usually wrap a towel around or anything unless my hair is dripping wet, which it shouldn’t be.. it should be just damp.

Then I go read or watch TV, and then rinse it out. When I’ve rinsed it out, I go and grab my Henna treatment – the one I mentioned on this hair care video. And again, this product is one of my freaking favourite products in the whole world.

I leave the Henna treatment in for about 20 minutes wrapped in a towel, or if I’m lazy, about 5 minutes inside the shower.

Result? You can literally get an ant to slide off my hair. It’s so freaking amazing.

I know some of you guys who aren’t familiar with the Cat treatment might find it weird that I’m using two treatments, but the reason behind that is because the Cat treatment is actually a protein treatment. It doesn’t actually leave your hair feeling soft and silky. It protects your hair and keeps it feeling strong. Its like an “inside treatment”. So when you use the Henna treatment, which is a moisturising treatment, it makes your hair feel nice on the outside.

Get it? It’s like taking vitamins and using moisturiser/lotion on your skin

I don’t think alot of us realise, but we need to protect both inside and outside of our body.

I’m lovin’ my routine so far. Continuing on to do this on a fortnightly basis will definitely keep my healthy and silky. Ontop of this actually, I’m also taking Hair, Skin and Nails vitamins.. but I’ll give a review on the product I’m using later ♥

I didn’t want to live with short nails again, and I certainly didn’t want to live with weak and brittle nails. I mean, I could live with plain nails… but that certainly won’t last for long.

So, I pulled out all of my nail shiz that I’ve collected over the year – which is a crazy amount I’m tellin’ ya, and I threw on a brainless design on these false nails. I first coloured (with one of my CG polishes, I don’t remember which one. Check here)

Anyways, this is what I came up with. Like I said, its a brainless design, but represents me well. Not the brainless bit ofcourse! ♥

It’s not perfect, but it’ll do for now. ♥

Well, most of my eyelashes are almost always “customised”. I haven’t really found a wear that I’ve loved completely, whole-hearted. I’m an false eyelash slut you can say

Anyhow, I’ve explained to a few of you that I actually double up my eyelashes before, and alot of you actually requested for a tutorial on it! I didn’t think it needed its own video, but I did include it in a make up look I was doing.

I need some new make up tutorial ideas!! I want to do some celebrity inspired make up looks! Any suggestions?

I have quite a few friends whom I know, name their electronics. For a whole year or so, I’ve always been like “WHAT? what the hell? Like honestly?” But I take that all back now, I actually kinda think its cute.

So I’m going to introduce you guys to Zena, whom Mr.CG named after Zena the Warrior Princess.. and that is Zena the Olympus E-PL1, my newest baby. So, I hear you guys calling me crazy, another camera, yeh yeh, I’ve heard it all before. But, I recently sold off my Canon Ixus and really wanted to get compact camera with video recording so I could do proper videos for you guys, rather than shooting with a freaking webcam.

I go so frustrated with finding “the perfect webcam” to shoot my youtube videos, that I figured that I better just get used to filming with cameras instead! And btw, thanks for asking, but it’s worked out fine.

Anyway, enough with the chit chat, and let me show you pictures of my new toy (it’s actually not that “new” anymore. I purchased it a day or two before I went to New Zealand, which is about 1-2 weeks ago now)

This baby is the much raved about camera on blogs such as Xiaxue and Cheeserland.

I actually just purchased the camera with the set lens, which is the 14-42mm, so there’s nothing spectacular about it at all. And if you’re eyes all opened about the bling, girl, you mustn’t be on my blog enough.

It didn’t take me long to deco this camera at all, I had a set design, and I used all the things I had at home to deco it. I used swarovski crystals left over from my Canon Ixus so if you’re wondering which ones they are, just do a quick search on “Canon Ixus” on my blog.

For my design, I actually used more crystals than just the average round ones. I also got a 3D purple swarovski heart and a swarovski cross charm which actually cost me AU$180. My sister went nuts at me after she saw it on my camera!

Oh well, what do you expect from a deco-freak like me

I adore the design, but I wish I had a little more time to plan it. I was heading to New Zealand in a few days so I really only had about half a day to finish it.

I love this camera because it’s so compact and has a little cute flash which pops up when you need it. Without the lens, its only really as big as the average digital camera you find on the markets these days.

It also comes with soo many amazing art filters which makes the camera so so so much fun to use! The quality of the photos is just as amazing as my Canon 450D and it only comes in half the size! ♥

I adore it to pieces.

Anyhow, I’m finally doing the review today, as a blog post, because I figured that maybe Youtube just doesn’t like Vitacreme B12. haha!

Okay, for those who don’t know what these products do, they are basically a multi-functional cream, much like Nivea, but whats so special about it, is that it is currently the only cream on the market, that contains Vitamin B12. Both are made from Switzerland.

Vitacreme B12 Anti-aging serum and Regenerative Cream

First of all, I want to clear that I love the both of the products. They are definitely great for any age or skin type.

It was first recognised because Japanese actress Norika Fujiwara had raved about it and said it was the reason behind her beautiful skin. At 40, she still looks so young and her skin is definitely glowing.

The first one I’m going to review is the Anti-aging serum.

The texture of this serum is very watery. It smells abit like “Old Lady”, but isn’t very strong. I like to use this serum in the day time just before I apply my make up. It serves as a fantastic make up base and seems to even out my skin tone as well. The watery texture helps to moisturise my skin. This product is fantastic because it actually sinks into my skin immediately, and I’m not even exaggerating.

I usually hate waiting for facial creams to sink into my skin, especially in the mornings cause I’m always in a rush. I like to apply this serum on my forehead and smile lines as it states that it is made for “Anti-Ageing”.

I can’t comment much on how the “Anti-Ageing” aspect of the serum works, as I only had a sample size tube and with any face product, it normally takes at least 8 weeks to see a difference on your skin. However, I did really enjoy using this product as a make up base. I mentioned that I didn’t like the smell, but the smell doesn’t overpower the fragrance in your make up.

The highly recommended Vitacreme B12 Regenerative Cream

They have been so many raves about this product that I was almost not going to believe the hype… but I must say, it really does live up to it. Its a fantastic day and night cream. I like it because it’s so light yet so thick.

Now this cream claims to:

• Fix skin fatigue, drying, aging, dull
• Enhance skin elasticity and firming skin
• Prevention of premature fine lines and wrinkles appear
• Dodge and smooth wrinkles
• Pores
• To improve dry, deeply moisturizes
• Dilution and repair old and new scars, acne prints, signs of insect bites
• Calm skin after sun damage, burst, swelling, and peeling and other issues
• Can be used for children miliaria (prickly heat), or diaper rash
• Men use of effective relief after shaving irritation

And as you can see, it really is quite a lot to claim for a tube of cream. And although its a fabulous product, I think I can only say I only see half of the claims, which is still reasonable though, as I was only using it for a little over a month, and I only have the sample sizes.

I think it was a bit of a plus for me as well, because I am testing it in the Winter of Sydney, and it did get really dry. As a side note, I do have combination skin – more on the dry side, especially in Winter. Using this cream, I felt that it was extremely moisturising. Like the Anti-Ageing Serum, the cream sank into my skin almost immediately after applying. However, I do prefer to use this cream in the night, and the serum in the day.

I actually noticed a huge improvement in my pores as well. Prior to using this cream, I had extremely large pores, and I have noticed a huge improvement, but that could also be because I’ve paired this cream up with my Bliv Cellnique skincare products.

The texture of this cream is very thick as I pointed out earlier. It comes out as a milky pink colour and really seems to make my face a glow after applying (the “fix dull” skin claim is definitely true!)

I can see how most of the points can work, but I won’t be able to “state” them at this point.

I definitely did not notice a huge difference to “wrinkle reduction” though, but that could also be because it takes quite some time for those differences to appear. I would not recommend to only use this cream in the winter, especially if you have extremely dry skin.

I think the downfall to this regenerative cream is that because it sinks into the skin so quickly, I found that I had to continuously reapply to get continue feeling moisturised. I loved the effect for about an hour, but then my skin would feel dry again after a short period of time.

The packaging of this product is actually, like the sample, a tube. I think it would be very handy because it is about 50ml and the size of a toothpaste. The tube is also very much like a toothpaste, in the sense that you can actually squeeze the product out. I think the packaging of the Vitacreme B12 is definitely a selling point.

As much as I loved this product, I think the only reason I wouldn’t purchase it is because of its price and the fact that it isn’t easily accessible. However, Akisa from AkisaShop.com has actually started to stock these creams. They are selling for AU$45 for a tube.

I know its a hefty price, for a cream that serves for so many purposes, I really think its a fantastic product. I’ve even heard from many other reviews that this cream has helped them get rid of their old stubborn acne scars.

I haven’t had much motivation to blog lately. I blame the weather.

Pictures are huge today. I love big pictures, especially on blogs. Some might think it’s a tad too big and fills up too much space and take up too much bandwidth, but I think its beautiful when the image is not pixelated and bad quality

I’m using this “close eye” effect for the tutorials because my camera doesn’t auto focus, so I’ve got to keep it on one view for the entire filming time. I also didn’t cut out the ending this time, so go me! ♥

I wore this look to go see a few friends for lunch. We went to Counter Burger, which is a burger stop in Crows Nest. They have the hugest burgers ever. The biggest one is 450g, which is freaking almost half a kilogram!

Most of us settled for the 300g burger and I still couldn’t even finish half! The beef patty is about 10x thicker than the McDonald’s Cheeseburger patty!

I really loved Counter Burger because your burgers were completely customisable! They gave you a range of toppings and sauces, and you get to choose exactly what you wanted! ♥

They even offered “Burger in a Bowl” if you are cutting down on carbs and don’t want the bread!

We also ordered an Apple Pie and Peanut Butter Malt, but I forgot to take pictures of them. They were both extremely sweet and delicious at the same time! I couldn’t finish mine, we just had too much food for the day.

We also skipped dinner because of this gigantic meal LOL! If you live in Sydney, you must try this place out!
