There recently was a thread about awful room-mates, along with pictures. I have my own experience.

This story about an awful roommate began its life on the Something Awful forums. Since then, like most stories like this, I assume it’s become some kind of internet folklore that a lot of people have at least heard about, if not read. Regardless, I had not read it, and now I’m sharing it, just in case you haven’t either.

(Note: it’s long, fairly graphic, and fairly awful, but safe for work.)

This is incredibly epic. The escalation in unbelievable.

That actually just reminded me that I never posted this other photo I really like. This was at BFD a few weeks ago which coincided with Swedish Independence Day. The guards wouldn’t allow Jasmina to bring in the wooden flagpole because it could be used as a weapon (suuuure) so we made our own once inside. We also ended up with a bonus Canadian flag.

[SPOILERY rant if you haven’t read the book]

I wouldn’t say The Time Traveler’s Wife was a masterpiece, but I liked it because it was about a very complicated sort of love — deeply flawed, steeped with obstacles, and simultaneously everlasting yet doomed. The ending was messy and a bit heartbreaking, much like the way real life often goes. Yet in the trailer, it looks like the promo monkeys have decided to sell it as a magical sort of fairy tale, which I feel cheapens the whole thing.

Then again, my area’s not marketing, so hey, maybe this is just the kind of thing that gets people to want to see a movie.

This looks like it should be really good. Despite being a rookie effort, the book is definitely worth reading.

I agree with what you’re saying but it does looks like they try to reflect that discord in the trailer. In the end, the book/movie is about love so I can’t really argue with their presentation. It’ll be interesting to see how much they leave in from the book but at the very least, it looks like it will be a more polished (hopefully not dumbed down) version.
