One-to-One Rooms Availability Update

A variety of our one-to-one rooms are becoming available from the 2nd of March.

Designed to offer a calm, comfortable, and private setting, these rooms are ideal for counselling and confidential one-to-one work.

Also available to hire is the Tudor Room

The Tudor room is a bright versatile space with exposed beams and soft lighting.

The open layout is great for small groups.

Christmas/New Year Closing

Keeping you warm this winter

The trustees are very pleased to announce that the centre will keep you warm this winter!

Yes, we’ve just completed fitting new double glazed sash windows on the east wall of the centre (facing Exchange Street). And we’ve finished installing a new central heating boiler and made some radiator improvements.

So we’re all set up for a warm winter!

New carpets for the centre

The trustees continue to make improvements to the interior spaces in the centre.

We now have new carpets throughout the communal spaces and in the Study, Lounge and Stanley Cooper rooms for hire. Look out for the new photos on our website. We also have new rugs in the reception producing a more welcoming and relaxing space.

Building work for the centre in 2020

As we move in to another year, we have some more improvements for the Centre.

At the end of last year we carried out essential work on the roof which is now complete.

We commissioned an energy efficiency survey and have already adopted some of the recommendations. The heating system has already been upgraded.

Over the next few weeks we will be installing LED lighting to many of our spaces, including our counselling rooms. This will improve our working environment and reduce our bills at the same time!

Outside our building we have some major work to do on an historic wall. We hope that this will start in the Summer.

Centre Kitchen and Rooms Upgrades

The newly replanned kitchens three years ago launched our intention to upgrade many aspects of the Centre.
The major refurbishment of our toilet accommodation has been very well received.

We were very grateful to IKEA who offered new furniture, fittings and decorations to our reception space.
Their work and generosity has transformed this area into an attractive waiting area.

IKEA also provided furniture to improve two of our first floor one to one counselling rooms.
The other two adjacent rooms have been upgraded to the same standard.
All these rooms now provide relaxed and welcoming spaces.

We now look smart outside too, as we had the building frontage painted a few months ago.

The Centre now has a more robust WiFi connection to cater for increased demand.

We will continue with our decorating upgrades over the next few months.

Charing Cross Centre located in 500-year-old building

500 Years! Part of the building that is now the Charing Cross Centre dates back to the 15th Century and was the home of John Marsham, Mayor of Norwich, in 1518.
