你可以把任何东西丢在一起

结果是怎样你不会知道

最近发生了一些我自己也不知道

为什么会发生的事情

难道是我不小心是我的错?

就像以下这盘炒饭，是我人生第一次亲自炒的.

味道还好视觉效果也还好

个人不是很满意这个结果

我以为放了各种美味的材料

鸡肉培根鲜虾

然后再加一些浆料

结果没有很好吃.

或许我真的把太多东西放在一起

然后把事情都搞扎了

结果给自己和别人带来不必要的麻烦

人生嘛

总会有低潮

或许过了这段时间就会没事了

yo! was down in Bintulu two weekends ago (12/8-14/8), visiting my good friend Edwin. We had a great time and I really enjoyed myself! it was definitely a good experience.

It was my first time stepping into Sarawak, despite the fact that it's just across the border and a day-long car ride would be able to get me there. I flew with MASwings, the regional airline serving East Malaysia. It was my first time flying with them, but the ATR 72-500 was quite alright. The journey wasn’t shaky at all and it only took 1hr 10mins from Kota Kinabalu to Bintulu. The refreshments (juice and sandwiches) served were pretty standard. Basically, you get what you paid for.

Arrived at Bintulu Airport around noon and it took barely5 minutes for me to get off the plane, pass through immigration, collect my bag and wait at the arrival hall. Edwin’s mum and sister came to pick me up at the airport and then dropped my stuff at home.

Then, we had lunch at a famous Chinese restaurant nearby. We ordered Billion, a type of local vegetable only be found there. Drove back to his place to rest after that.

Ah Ning came to pick me up afterwards and we picked up Lee Jie along the way. She drove us around town, stopped by an old store to get the infamous Kompiah (S’wakian snack), a temple in the middle of the town where a gangster was selling fighting cocks and we ended up at Secret Recipe for tea break. I heard it just opened a while ago, and yeah the air conditioning wasn’t functioning well, not a good start.

After spending some time at Secret Recipe, we decided to visit the Ramadan Bazaar nearby. There weren’t many people around since it was only 4pm, but we managed to get some Malay kuih-muihs (cakes and desserts).

Went back home after that and Edwin’s mum cooked crabs for us! They were really good and the sauce was just nice. Then, his dad brought me over to his cousin’s place for one of his cousins’ birthday dinner. It was quite awkward having to walk into a stranger’s house and join them for dinner, especially when it involved a big gathering of one’s relatives. Luckily I managed to join in and talked with some of Edwin’s uncles and aunties, they were really friendly and made me feel very welcomed. (It was a really good experience and it’s something I don’t get to experience with my own relatives- sad to say).

Ahning and Amy (Edwin’s cousin) met up with me after dinner to go to the church nearby for the youth service. We left half way through the session and went back to the cousin’s place to meet Edwin and Pollux who just arrived all the way from Miri! (Pollux, thanks for coming down and joining us!) Then, all of us ended up drinking with all the uncles and aunties, which was quite alright haha

Oh yeah I was greeted by Edwin’s grandparents as well when I arrived at the place, and his grandma was just so nice and kept asking me to go over and have dinner, but I was rather shy at that time hahaha!

After dinner, all of us went out to the Waterfront by Parkcity Everly Hotel and stroll along the beach. Then we went to the one of the hot spots in Bintulu, (forgot the name) and settled down for supper at Fac Bravo.

back, after abandoning (well you could say the it was on hiatus) here so for so long.

Facebook practically replaced this space, sad to say, but good news is that i'm back and things will be back to how they were last time, promised!

a short update on my life now;

-completed the first year of my 3 year law degree in the uk two months ago

-currently doing my internship at a local law firm

-on summer holiday till the end of september

-got my driving license last month and many unfortunate events have happened since then (sigh)

will spend time to edit the layout and header soon, stay tuned! =)

It's the new year,
exam's coming up in two days time,
and I'm fucking stressed (not that stress actually),
but still first examination in university.

Sometimes I still can't believe I'm in university now,
it all happened way too fast,
same goes to my holiday in Spain last month, during the winter break.

I went to Barcelona and Madrid for about a week,
with a few friends whom I just got to know when I got here in October.
They're a bunch of really awesome people, and really had a lot fun with them.

edwin: good brother, really good friend, and thank you for everything so far!
emily: really like a big sister to me, always joke around and have fun all the time :)

Spain was really a breakaway from all the stuff that was happening to me near the end of last year. I learned a few lessons from this trip and felt that I've got to know these people better and they've become my close friends here in the UK.

Last but not least, all these would not have happened,
if I hadn't got to know Edwin.

He's a really good friend and got me into a lot of things (meeting new people, trying new things), and we have a lot of common interests haha. The most surprising thing is that his birthday is just a day after mine, on the 7th of November! (crazy eh?)

Been hanging out a lot with him lately, and we got really close, thanks to all those common interests and other things. It's nice to have someone close to talk to other than your hall mates or family once in a while, so yeah thank you bro for everything! God bless you.

(And if you're wondering why I used the term "God bless you", it's probably due to the fact that I've been a frequent guest to the local churches lately, thanks to Edwin, haha. I find church sessions quite meaningful and I learn a number of stuff out of them and they make my life more interesting!)

Haha he must be feeling really proud of himself right now, after reading this.
(I know you too well bro! haha)

I try to be happy,

Just when you think all the troubles have gone away,

There are so many opportunities right here right now,

It's just one month off from graduation now,
yet, i still have so much to do.

I really want to apologize for my bad habit,
promising that I would update,
and always end up breaking that promise.

I guess my life is so empty and meaningless right now,
I don't even have the urge to blog about it, seriously.

Anyway, I've just got myself involved in an upcoming,

Working on the blog layout right now,
trying my best to get it done by tonight.

I'm not feeling well right now,
I have a really bad sore throat and I can't really eat anything at the moment.

So I'm staying at home today,
to catch up on assignments and blog!

Went to Coquitlam Centre after school yesterday,
bought a shirt from H&M & a birthday present for my aunt.

We also had a lab dissection today during Biology,

So, here's what I did last weekend.
On Saturday, I went out with Paige & 楠哥(nickname).

We went downtown, I wanted to shop.
Tried on a few Fred Perry shirts, but couldn't find the right one,
so ended up with nothing that day.

Met up with Cherry & her boyfriend at Guess,
while she used my Guess awards points to get discounts on her skirt.

After that,
we went for dinner at a Mongolian Restaurant.
The only dish they served is fried noodles, Mongolian-styled!

How cool is that?
Ok, so what is Mongolian Fried Noodles?

It's sort of like Chinese Chow Mien, but fried in a really messy way,
like they throw everything in at once and fry it till it's ready to eat!

Firstly,
you pick any ingredients you like (eg, beef, chicken, lamb, pork)
(and any type of vegetables - as many as you can).

You have to try and fit it into one bowl.

Then, you pick the noodles you want,
white or yellow.

After that, you pick the sauces you want.
There are 20 sauces available, ranging from the typical soy sauce to Mongolian spicy sauce.

I picked Soy-Sauce, Mongo Pau, Sesame Oil and a few others I forgot..

After you have picked your sauces, you bring your big bowl (of noodles,veges,meat,sauces all mixed together) to the chef and he'll cook it right in front of you!

And mine's just about done!

So how what does it taste like?
Hmm, well, obviously, the taste comes from the sauces you picked earlier on, right?

But, seriously, it tasted so much better than any Fried Chow Mien I've had so far.
Or maybe I was just good at picking the sauces haha..

After dinner, we wanted to go to Stanley Park for a quick biking session, but it was already 8pm.
So we went home instead.

That was the day I got sick as well,
due to the bad weather.
It rained, then the sun came out, then it rained again, wth?

RANDOM:
Bought imported young coconuts from Thailand at T&T yesterday,
took me a while to get use to cutting(CHOPPING) open the coconut shell.

but it definitely was worth it!

Now I really understand why the coconut stalls in Malaysia keep on raising their prices.
It's not an easy job for an old Malay woman to crack open a few coconuts and then only earning a few dollars each..

We got a chance to dissect a cow's heart!
And its heart is so much bigger than you can ever imagine.

I've only had chicken hearts before,
and man I tell you, they're really delicious
and they're a Chinese delicacy.

But, cow's heart, is way different.

[supposed to have posted this up last week, but didn't have the time]
[& if yr reading this from facebook, please visit my blog to read more]

Spring break was alright,
didn't get to sleep much though,
and I really regretted staying up all night for a whole week,
to watch movies, dramas, chat, games, and do other useless stuff haha..

Still, I managed to get some stuff done.

Went to Malaysia Tourism Board (Canada-Vancouver branch),
to request for brochures, posters and other promotional items to help with
my school's International Fair, which my part was to introduce Malaysia.

I met up with Mr Hadi, the vice-president of the tourism board.
He was a nice man, from Kuala Lumpur, and he offered to send all those stuff to my school.

Thank God he offered to deliver all the stuff, or else I wouldn't have known how I would carry 5 boxes of stuff back to school from downtown Vancouver.

& I went Olympic-merchandise shopping, with my aunts.
these merchandises get real cheap after the Olympic events have passed,
and everyone was grabbing stuff like mad.

I spent more than I originally planned to, haha.

and some magnets, poker cards, key rings, pins, coasters..

& I went downtown to get my left ear re-pierced.

Getting your ear-piercing here in Canada is way different than getting it done in Malaysia.
Here, they require you to present a government issued Photo-ID for verification and you are asked to sign a document agreeing that you would not sue the company/person who helped you pierce your ear.

And its not cheap either, my single ear piercing (including the antiseptic & earring) costs about $30 with tax. However, everything is done hygienically and carefully. You also get to take home a big bottle of antiseptic, which you must use to cleanse your ear with.

I'm thinking of getting another piercing above my current piercing on my left ear now,

On the same day, Paige & I went to The Ô Dor Maison Fondee a Paris,
the House of Tea from Paris, France.

I love trying out new tea beverages, so I asked Paige to tag along with me.
The Tea House was grand and the setting was really unique, peaceful and calm.

I ordered British Breakfast Tea, and cheesecake with mango topping.
Paige didn't order any as she was full from our earlier RAMEN session at the infamous Benkei Noodle Shop at downtown Robson Street.

The pot of tea costs around $8,
while the cheesecake was $6.

this is the teapot they used to serve our tea.

The waitress who served us was really nice and friendly.
Upon finding out that I wasn't really satisfied with my tea, due to the bitterness, she immediately explained how the tea was boiled, the procedures involved and offered to boil another pot of tea.

But I found the taste of the tea that was boiled for 3 minutes, and the one for 2 minutes, about the same haha..

Overall, it was a nice tea-time haha..
I'd definitely go back there again to try out their milky-oolong tea.

& on the first day of Spring Break, two Fridays ago,
I went to Metrotown with Cherry & Paige.

Calvin Klein recently introduced a brand new underwear line - X.
I really like the design, but I wasn't a fan of their underwear,
and I'm a boxer guy.

So the only piece I could buy is their boxer brief.

I really like the design,
it comes in both red and blue.

Red is much better though haha..

Bought some imported Kit-Kats from Japan,
the Royal Milk Tea flavour,
Raspberry & Passion Fruit flavour,
and the Strawberry flavour.

I still prefer the Green tea flavour though,
it's the best I've ever tasted.

Got a pair of jeans from Zara, during their jeans sale.

& got these two tshirts from Boys'Co at downtown Robson Street.

Went down to Bellevue at Washington State yesterday (3rd April),
with my aunts.

We went to the Bellevue Collection.
Bellevue Collection comprises of three buildings,
one of which is the Bellevue Square (The Shopping Mall),
the other two are Bellevue Places (high-end residences)
and Lincoln Square (dining & entertainment).

Woke up on Saturday morning, around 9am,
had breakfast, went out to do some Olympic-merchandise shopping,
then we started our journey down South.

Luckily for us, the Canadian-US Border lineup was pretty short today,
so we got into US after only lining up for about 15 minutes.

Before we got to Bellevue, my aunt stopped by Alderwood Mall,
nearby Seattle.

While she went to get her stuff,
I managed to buy a classic polo-shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch
and bought a Nike tshirt for my bro from Nordstorm.

After a quick shopping session at Alderwood,
we drove down to Bellevue.

By the time we reached there, it was already 4.45pm.
So I walked around the Mall for a bit,
went to Lacoste and got a t-shirt and a pair of slippers.

(really love the slippers)

Went to Godiva Boutique to grab some chocolates.

and joined their chocolate rewards programme

only 2 bags at the moment haha.

Then, I went over to Lincoln Square for dinner.
It was my first time dining there, so I looked around a few restaurants,
before settling down at Ristorante Luciano.

Ristorante Luciano is pretty grand in its architectural design,
and its atmosphere sets a posh and elegant yet warm and welcoming environment.

I ordered the Soup of the Day, which was potatoes with lentils.

Bread was served constantly along with an Italian spice dip.

Then main course was served,
pizza with mozzarella, tomato, ham & mushrooms as toppings.

it was alright, not as good as I thought it would be,
but overall the whole dining experience was enjoyable.

After dinner,
went back to Bellevue Square to continue shopping.

Got a classic polo-shirt from good ol' Hollister haha..

and a RVCA shorts from Zummiez.

the guy at the skater shop was saying,
'dude, u gotta have those sick pants! they're bloody awesome'

and yeah i bought it. haha...

Then, we went to Safeway to do some grocery shopping before heading back to Vancouver.

I'm really loving the new slippers right now,
wearing them, walking around the house everyday haha..

maybe i should stop wearing these dollars slippers around the house,
before they get worn out haha..

damn its been more than a month,
since i last updated (like serious update) this blog.

obviously, many things have changed since then,
especially ever since i got back from Malaysia last month.

March, nothing much to talk about,
all the crap kept on happening.

However, out of all those crap,
I managed to find some peace & alone time.

Had breakfast with Cherry at downtown last Friday,
before heading out to University of British Columbia (UBC),
one of Canada's top ranking universities, for a campus tour.

with spring, comes the cherry blossom,

Went to American Eagles, got a pair of socks, boxers & sunglasses,
and took the bus to UBC.

UBC was awesome,
they have everything there.

Everything, inside, outside
is just perfect.

I'd love to go on their tour again, next time,
cause UBC is so huge, you could even get lost inside it's forest.

And their Japanese Garden is so beautiful,
I'd love to go there for a photoshoot session.

Bought the infamous UBC sweat pant before I left,

another 50 bucks gone...

Went to Metrotown after the tour,
and had dinner with Michelle.

arghh, beef terriyaki, haven't had it for so long,
the best Japanese dish ever.

went to crystal mall afterward,
got myself some dvds, after all, it's spring break ;)

i know, these movies are old, but i haven't watch them yet.

*just watched monga & bodyguards & assassins today, awesome movies*
*definitely worth the money*

Been hanging out with a couple of korean friends lately,
and i'm starting to enjoy korean meals now,
despite the fact that i used to hate it so much hahaha..

traditional korean dish,
forgot the name LOL.

at the house of tofu..

my first traditional korean meal,

after you've eaten the top (tofu, meat, rice)...

you end up with more rice at the bottom of the pot,
and you add water/tea in.

then, you scoop up the rice and the water,
and eat it as dessert. COOL HUH?

to some, it might be gross, but for me,
i really enjoyed it haha..

stir fried beef & some other side dish..

this is the good thing about Korean meals,
they have so much side dishes that you rarely have to order more than two main dishes.

NEXT,
more Korean dishes hahaha..

this time, it's sausages, rice cakes & noodles and mix pot.

looks like sausages huh?
but they're actually made out of potato flour,
so there's no meat at all.

and this is the dish i didn't like so much,
it's a mixture of rice cakes & noodles.
it's spicy, obviously..

and the mix pot i really enjoyed,
despite it being very spicy haha..

overall, Korean dishes are really new to me,
and i enjoy most of the dishes,
maybe its due to the fact that i like to try out new things.

Ok, now for some random things.

I am now taking Foods class in school,
trying to pick up some useful skills,
that may become useful later on in life hahaha..

here's one product we made in class,
chocolate cream tart .. i think

decided to attempt to cook ra-men at home,
last week.

looks awesome right?
haha i know.

but the taste,
wasn't as good as the ones in the restaurants,
maybe because i didn't add the MSGs

(haha)
