Senior Sneak – Amador County High School Senior Portrait Photographer

Ok, so today I figured for one of my senior sessions, I would take advantage of the dramatic sky, since it is currently cloudy. It has layers of dark puffy clouds, lighter and darker, which made me think of a cool band shot. So, I took Whitney, our senior, I had scheduled for today, and we went up the hillside where the hills were open, and the sky was vast. I brought my flash and had Ciara hold the flash for me, while I exposed for the shot you see below. After I took my shots, we peered into the LCD monitor, and were like fans of fourth of July, ooohhh, ahhhh, ooohhh (because there were other angles and other shots with the flash). Justin and Sadie – Brookings, South Dakota Wedding Photographer, SDSU

Justin and Sadie are married! I’m here in South Dakota the day after Justin and Sadie’s wedding here in Brookings, getting ready to travel and photograph some landscape features. I LOVE to travel! I wanted to drop off a few images before I left today. Both Justin and Sadie are a playful and enthusiastic couple with both attending South Dakota State University. They married at the Brookings Wesleyan Church, and then trotted over to Days Inn Hotel conference room on a horse carriage with the rest of the wedding party. Be looking this week, as I will blog the full preview images by Thursday, after I have returned to California.

So, here’s a teaser to some of images I shot for Jason and Margo’s family. I thought this one represented most what they wanted to accomplish in their family photography session. We photographed downtown, at the Ione church, and in their backyard. The kids had all their favorite items in this image (a book, Gameboy, and a doll), with Jason and Margo’s amazing suede couch. Jason and Margo had all these artistic ideas of what they wanted to shoot, at the skate park with their family, in Sacramento, and other places. They were just dreaming of all these shots they could possibly shoot with me. Here’s an image from that shoot!

Abercrombie Baby – Family Studio Session

Phillip + Lena Wedding – Los Altos Mountain, View Wedding Photographer

It’s been an amazing summer photographing so many great weddings. I absolutely love all my brides and grooms, and have built wonderful relationships with many of them. Phillip and Lena married on July 17 in Sunnyvale and had their reception at the famous Historical Museum in Los Altos, California. We met at Dana and Zui’s wedding (whom I hold in high esteem, great couple as well), which was in 2009. I shot Phillip and Lena’s engagement session in Yosemite National Park, and typically, I spend a few hours on an engagement session. However, since I love Yosemite, and have climbed Yosemite’s Half Dome a bazillion times (actually, about 27 times, but who’s counting), I spent my whole day with them, and we had a blast, minus the sunburn on my bald head, and the pull-over-and-sleep-because-I’m-exhausted-nap on the way back home. I like to think of myself as going above and beyond for my couples. The night was classic and iconic. Their wedding tables were filled with Yosemite icons, pictures, words and titles, beautiful details everywhere. Phillip and Lena were gracious, loving, and casual. Thank you Phillip and Lena for the kind words to your family and friends. Wonderful speeches, great families, and excellent food and service. So many great vendors. Andy and Kim (Mountain View, California) – St. George Hotel Wedding, Volcano, Ca.

Andy and Kim came from the Bay Area, Mountain View, California to tie the knot magazine style at the St. George hotel in Volcano, Ca., a vintage town in Amador County. They called me last December, and we met for an engagement session, and took some unique and romantic photographs in Amador City, as well as the Amador County airport, near Sutter Creek. View the blog for the old airplane images. They both enjoy all kinds of adventures and common hobbies,…and actually went snowboarding after we met for our engagement session. Andy and Kim married at the St. George hotel, outside in the back with great musicians and catering filling the venue in Volcano, California. My second photographer, my fusion video assistant, and I met so many nice people. With any wedding, there is always a time factor in which we photographers try and remain sensitive. After the wedding ceremony, I asked the Bride if she was open to quickly driving over to this barn and old red truck, and she felt pressed for time. I really thought it was a perfect place for the wedding party and for both Andy and Kim for couples shots. Andy agreed and pushed for that area, and so we had everyone hop into vehicles and drive over there. We got the wedding party in three different backgrounds, plus the bride and groom in several red truck shots with flash in about eight minutes. We got amazing images in that time. After I showed the shots, they were excited for the investment in the extra time in photographs that would last them a lifetime. Thank you Kim and Andy for your patience, and your family and friends who were wonderful and overtly complimentary to us. Thank you for your trust and enthusiasm in our work and style. Alyssa – Modern Senior Portrait Sessions – 2011 – Family Portrait Season

Alyssa is a senior this year who is kicking off the 2011 senior year with the first of many senior portrait images for the Charleton Churchill Photography Blog rush. Wedding Photography season is slowly winding down into the Senior Portrait season and the Family Portrait Season with Christmas around the corner. I have still have more weddings, but now I’m moving into time for Seniors and Family images.

For Senior Portraits, there is a choice between an urban look, downtown with many textures and colors.
