It finally feels like winter has actually arrived. It’s been bitterly cold this morning as I write this blog. However, I’m accompanied by the most beautiful morning sky. Simply stunning.

The garden has had early morning frost these last few days, and the car has been thick with ice. All that’s missing is icicles, but you don’t seem to see them much these days. I remember as a little boy the icicles hanging from our guttering – they were the size of carrots!

I’m not sure if we’re expecting snow? This is the last snowman we made… several years ago. In case you’re wondering, that is a little piece of broccoli for a hat!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Ours was lovely – it was quiet with just a few of us, stacks of food and lots of games! We played Pictionary (a firm favourite), as well as Cluedo and UNO.

My dad also introduced us to a new card game called ‘Go Fish’. It’s played with a regular deck of cards and it’s brilliant. Are you familiar with it?

New Years was spent at home, mainly comforting our Cairns. One of them is really afraid of the noise from fireworks.

I must be honest, I used to be a fan of fireworks until I saw, first hand, how terrifying they are for so many animals. I now loathe them.

My Cairns are fortunate enough to have me there to comfort them – so I especially feel for the animals in the wild who are alone and must be terrified. After things settled down, it was off to bed for all of us, followed by a New Year’s Day walk.

So, January is upon us. It’s back to work, and I’m thrilled to be launching a wonderful TSV this coming Wednesday the 8th at 9pm, and then again at midnight.

I was kindly given a sample to try and, after only a few days, a little robin arrived to delve into one of the four jars! It’s the Nut Pecker Bird Feeding Station, with Peanut Butter Bird Food. And it’s going down a treat!

It’s a really charming design and really adds to the garden. This is particularly the case at this time of the year, when the garden can look at little tired and bare. It’s also lovely to lend a helping hand to our feathered friends too!

I captured this video clip. It’s a bit grainy as I wanted to position the camera some distance away so it wouldn’t distract the birds. I then zoomed in on the footage so you can see the little robin. Adorable!

If you’ve caught me on air over the last few weeks – you may have heard me mention how two very mischievous Cairn Terriers have taken on the role of TV promotion!

It’s no secret my favourite on air video clip is the short intro we use to take us to a QVC Christmas Offer. It’s brilliant, featuring a small dog pulling on the ribbon of a Christmas present.

Well, how hard can it be? As it happens, with two cheeky Cairns, very hard! We were on a tight time frame, but I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

I hope you’ve had a great week so far. I’m starting to feel very festive. Radio stations are playing Christmas songs, and the big day is just a few weeks away. However, I’ve only had three mince pies so far… most unlike me!

I’m looking forward to sharing my next blog with you when my Cairn Terriers showcase their attempt at mimicking my favourite on-air clip – we run to introduce a Christmas Offer! Please don’t think Hollywood SFX for one moment… they’re looking super adorable through, for sure!

I hope this blog finds you well, as we finally head into the month of November. It’s starting to feel very ‘Christmassy’ at QVC. Our studios are full of festive cheer and the hours on-air are packed with fabulous offers – as is our website.

I think it’s rained nearly every day for the last three weeks or so. It’s been relentless. However, as I write today’s blog it’s nothing but blue skies and the air is very still. My Cairns are loving the sunshine, and we are making the most of it. While it lasts!

We’ve been out for some glorious walks recently, doing our best to avoid the rain. They’re not huge fans of wet weather – in fact, when it’s pouring with rain, they’ll  step outside and promptly turn around and head back indoors!

I’m loving my Skechers and I’ve walked miles in them with my dogs. These are so comfortable. Do browse the range – we have so much choice.

Well, what a few weeks it’s been. A really exciting time for me to see the launch of my Diamonique design in celebration of 25 years of Diamonique at QVC!

So, September is upon us and at QVC we’re acknowledging Sleeptember!  It’s an annual event run by The Sleep Council which raises awareness about the importance of sleep, what you can do to achieve a better night’s sleep and what benefits a good night’s sleep can bring.

I hope this blog finds you well. I’ve enjoyed a spot of time off work and had some wonderful days by the coast – swimming in the sea, going for heavenly walks with my Cairns and spending time with family too.

I’m not too sure where the month of August has disappeared to? The weather has been a little all over the place, but as I write this blog temperatures are soaring! My Cairns aren’t too happy – so we’re back to early morning walks to avoid the heat!

I hope this weeks blog finds you well.

We’re in the midst of the summer holidays and although I never wish the time away I’m really excited about my Diamonique design coming to QVC in the not too distant future. Hopefully, all being well, September!

We’re celebrating 25 fabulous years of Diamonique at QVC. It is the most special of jewellery collections and I simply adore the range and I always feel very privileged when asked to present a show.

A number of us were asked to come up with a design as part of the celebrations. We saw Dale’s and Alison’s designs in my last blog, and not surprisingly, both have been really popular.

I presented this sketch to our buyers earlier this year, and I was thrilled to see how much they liked the design and wanted to take it further.

I’m no artist, but the design team took my concept and returned with a few technical drawings. I’m really pleased with the interpretation. They’ve done a fantastic job.

Wish Upon A Star was inspired by my wonderful mum who loves to while away the time gazing into the night sky. I think it must be from her I get my love of astronomy and the unknown! The word ‘Wish’ will be laser engraved on the reverse and can be interpreted any which way you choose when giving or receiving as a gift!

A sample arrived from our supplier and the detail has been captured beautifully. I met with our buyer, we’ve made a few tweaks, and I suggested a slightly finer chain, which we have now chosen and I believe manufacturing is underway! Fingers crossed!

I can’t wait to show you the final design very soon. Crafted in sterling silver with a choice of plating in either Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, or Rhodium.
